Hi hello. I was reading a few decklists on Tajic and I noticed that no one is utilizing the " en kors". The ability to redirect damage to indestructible creatures seems amazing. !Pariah! and !pariah shield! also seem too good to not use

I love this build!! I've been trying an Izzet Version with little success. I was also ..curious.. To ask about the - Tandem lookout vs Curiosity - interactions. I see the appeal in both but thought the lookout to be relatively weak. I will experiment tonight at FNM.

Esper gives card advantage and ability to counter and use a toolbox of spells with snapcaster mage. While Junk may pack more of a punch, I feel esper is better because of its flexibility. Fast aggro decks tend to run out of gas before they are able to kill me.

Oh I agree fully. Not trying to dis your list. I was simply stating my experience vs the current meta. I am in agreement with "Schryder" that 2 isolated chapel my be needed to sure up the mana base until Watery Grave rotates in. Also Feeling of Dread plus the other 9 flashback spells, AND your Snapcasters have amazing synergy after Talarand drops. I would concider dropping Auger for Talarand. But I know everyone has their own style. Yerp

What's up guys!!! I have been toying with the concept of a counter burn Izzet deck since rotation. I originally started with the Blistercoil Weird/ dual Casting combo to run my spell suite and pump nivmagus elemental. I love the concept but it wasn't steamline enough. Next, I tried the guttersnipe/ tandem lookout pair, and found it a bit lackluster. While I don't have a decklist to share, I want to maybe state the "engine" used to fuel the guttersnipe damage continually without "exiling" die to flashback. I've dipped into the Innistrad block and went with the mystic Retreival / runic repetition engine in order to have to continuous threats. And to keep guttersnipe fueled. I have also toyed with "couriosity" on the snipe and I have been ""SUPER HAPPY" with the results. All spells cantrip and you gain SERIOUS CA. Anyway. Ill try and conjure up a decklist which I feel is FNM worthy but I think snipe, electromancer, maybe Talarand and maybe hypersonic dragon as a creature base. 1-2 tamiyo And1-2 Chandra seem well. Thanks for listening.

I've been running esper tokens since rotation and I must say I LOVE it... I've been utilizing !Talarand and flashback spells such as think twice and forbidden alchemy. Also feeling of dread became a great way to stall the board while making Talarand Drakes. For removal, ultimate price and azurious were the original slots but I've been taking the snapcasters down to focus more on just the spells. Not sure if it is the best way to go since rest in peace and Dryad Militant being a very relevant treat in standard. I've also toyed with the use of Doomed Traveller to some extent in this deck. Is not the best draw late game but one problem I had was with Agro Zombies (BG or BR), and the lack of early board presence. (Minus Auger). Anywho, I love this build but must say its missing a very large piece which the Junk (GWB) version has; Garruk. Therefore without a token maker like Talarand, or to a lesser extent bloodline keeper, to keep added preasure on, the Junk version has more power than your list. Just my .02$. Hope it helps.

  • posted a message on [SCD] Killing Wave
Jut saying to the "weak to Sigaurda" comment. I actually believe that killing wave is the best against Sigaurda, lemme explain. In a matchup such as Selesnya vs Rakdos Agro, your damage output leading up to turn 4-5 is pretty strong usually leaving a Selesnya player at 10 or less life. With sigaurda's ability, they CANNOT sack ANY creatures to a wave, not allowed. Therefore the damage will usually go through for lethal. I have been running Selesnya Agro since RTR shifted into standard and I must admit against zombies with waves, I side the angel out. Just a thought

I've been testing a deck like this and have had problems with its focus. I originally began with Dual Casting / Blistercoil Weird combo. I LoVeD it. Even if it only gives me 2 extra spells. I used Arcane Melee and, Mystic Retreival / Runic Reptition to run the engine effectively and for much less mana. The last add I have which you don't is the use of two Talarand, not 1, and 3 Talarand Invocation. I don't have a large burn suite except to say Pillar is great but Annihilating Fire at instant speed should be concidered in some capacity. My sweepers are Cyclonic Rift and Mizzium Mortars but again I am very iffy on numbers and even If I can make it survive the meta right now. I have gone up against Esper Control and Jund Zombies and am very sad to say I was pummeled horribly. But I am determined to make Izzet standard. Another way I was twisting this is to either Index into miracles and copy them, or ramp into Epic Experiment with reverberate and burn. And one more question for ya... Is Index really that bad of a card if it is the only library manipulation??? Probably wrong forum tho.

Hello my friend. I've been looking over your decks and Rith seems very solid, but I must point out the best token generator of all. Verdant Force! He is killer in multiplayer but his 3 green is cumbersome. And while I'm at why not add earthcraft for HUGE X spells. Just a thought...
