And in a meta where spellskite are everywhere I'll take that chance. Its just personal taste like always.

You say no one is reading your stuff but I don't get why you say that. Kami is unplayable and what you say is false here. How is Kami killing those for ZERO? The card cost 2cmc to cast so it'll always be at least 2 cmc.

Shattering Spree plays around Chalice on one as well because the replication isn't countered. Why would anyone play Kami with cards like Shattering Spree, Vandalblast and Shatterstorm available?

Also Figure of Destiny is not good in this deck at all. It doesn't race combo like you say as Rabble does it better period. You are getting incredibly defensive for no reason.

You should really work your attitude, Yorck. We're all good players here so don't go backing up your arguments by saying others can't play the format.. don't care how long you've played either.

As for the discussion, both Rabblemaster and Figure are fine clocks to add, but neither will outright win you tron/combo games. Imo I think some lock or control piece (ex. M Rain) do the job better and let Koth do the beats, but if I had to chose I'd say Rabble for SSG list and Figure for Mind Stone list.

I rather like the idea with creature-based artifact removal, thought. Idk if Torch Fiend or Hearth Kami would be better, but seems more sideable against decks where artifact removal is somewhat useful, like Tron/Infect/Vial decks. Doubt it's worth it due to mana efficiency tho, but interesting.

I like the idea of Kami becasue I've been blown out by spellskite too many times, I've casted Shattering spree with 3x replicate to blow up a bridge against Lantern, only to have him pay 1 blue, and take 6 damage from skite to then win the game. I've also lost to Inkmoth with Shattering Spree in hand. I'm not saying Spree sucks, I still think its one of the best red artifact hate in the game, but there are very real situations where Kami's restriction is in fact better.

Birch84 - Based on your comment I would assume that you're not familiar with casting cost x. A spell's converted casting cost is what ever is printed in the top right corner, if that value contains an x, the x only carries the value of mana paid into it while ON the stack. Once its resolved it becomes 0. While on the field Chalice of the void's CC is 0, Kami can kill it with a 0 mana activation, from which Spellskite can't redirect, because it targets a specific mana cost. While on the stack if x is 1 it can be countered by spell snare, because at that time its 2.
Any one feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, its been a while since I've gone into rules stuff.

Rabble and Figure, I think Rabble is faster, and better in a race, but Figure does have the ability to eventually survive Anger. This point is moot for me however, because if I was playing tron, or racing a combo deck, chances are I would cut a sweeper, because the deck I'm racing wouldn't have too many creatures for me to interact with.

Yorc81 - Thanks for the input man, but many things discussed in this forum have been tested to hell and back, your ideas are interesting, but you're expecting people here to drop what they're playing and jump on your train which isn't going to happen. Play your list, put up some numbers in large tournaments and you'll have more success converting people. Until then it'll just be your word against theirs.

If it doesn't get a new printing in the next year is when I see it hitting $30 because that was where entomb was, reanimate simply replaced entomb as the bottle neck for the deck. For the time being I don't think it'll be higher than twenty, I'm truely surprised that its as high as it is, caught me totally off guard because of how many printings its had.

Thanks for the input! I've thought about that, I actually cut two spell bombs for the talisman, I'm not 100% sure about this list, but I like to have at least 8 ways to cast thought-knot, and that I've cut the curve down to 4 max, it makes hitting that turn two ramp much better. I'm gonna try this out next FNM, and we'll see how it goes, you're probably right though.

have a look back in the thread, we had the discussion before...
i dont like the talisman, 4 rocks/stones are fine and they can cycle...maybe try a version without koth and moon or at least cut some, play more scrying sheets and dont forget mouth of ronom, play 3 chandra? instead of moon try a ld package with fulminator mages/molten rain...
you can make lots if friends playing discard paired with ld Wink

depending eternal scourge, go back to the roots, try phyrexian ironfoot, bolt resistent, sc permanent for skred and sheets, pseudo vigiliance...

I'll look into these later, I have to head to work for now. I've tested many versions of skred, and one of the reasons I even play it is because of Koth, and Moon. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I play magic for the feels, and there are certain cards I really like the feels of, even if its sub par at the moment. Skred will only ever be a meta call, I can put it down for a while until conditions are ripe for the cards that I want to play, the list I have is pretty much My chosen list, because I like the feel of it best. Having said that I'd rather stick with a certain build and play it sporadically then to continuously flow with the meta and not play my favorite cards.

I think you guys are right with the Talisman, but the question now is what else can I add to support Thought-Knot?

    Thanks again!

This is my first time going down to 3 Blood Moon in side and main, but its my first time also with hand disruption in this deck. Any input, critique welcome, The sideboard is strange but there is a reason for every card I assure you.

I just thought about it, and I don't even want reality smasher, I just want thought-knots, side/main split I'm not sure of, but the ability to interact with opponent's hand is the only thing missing from this deck. I might go 6 rocks 2 sheets though. Still keeping it at 8 colorless souce, and ramping into four drops.

Yorck81 - welcome to the fold! You have some very interesting ideas, I'll definitely try out the Kami, I didn't even know that its a thing, I can't wait to see your list! These last few weeks have produced some very spicy decks, the one recently shared by food dog is very spicy indeed!

food dog - do you find that you have any issues casting the Eldrazis? I get the feeling that its not enough colorless sources, and with four sheets, do you have issues casting Koth, or anger? I love the Thought knots in the side, I've been looking for a way to incorporate discard with out taking away from Koth and I think you've just found it. Thought seize also feels bad some times.

I looked through the lists there are still alot UB reanimator, but RB is up there as well. Now that I think about it, reanimate is the new bottle neck for the deck, since entombs are reprinted en-mass with the second release of eternal masters, reanimate is the one card that is in demand now, and will be until they decide to reprint it, which probably won't be until the next conspiracy or eternal masters, and if the supply issue doesn't get addressed in the next year, I can see it hitting $30 in the us.

Ah! Good to know, I've seen some lists running around on mtg top 8, but didn't know it was a thing. It still feels like a buy out, with the market price being at 10 on TCG, and the lowest I saw listed were 20. Thanks for the info!

Has any noticed the supply of reanimate drying up? few listings still going for 15ish on ebay, and tcg, much less than when I looked at them a few weeks ago. Buy out in progress, or did I miss something?

Is everyone's opinion on Koth that he should be a 4 of? I've always thought 4 of a planeswalker seems like too much but maybe I'm wrong...

Also I've maxed out on anger of the gods and it feels real good to me

Thirdly, my feelings on maxing out on blood moon is that it's just too much. It's a home run in many match ups but it has completely diminished returns when you draw the second one most of the time. 3 feels right to me.

On BLoodmoon, This depends on your build, I run simian spirit guides, so I'm all in on the turn 2 moon. If you're not about the fast lock out three is fine. Bloodmoon is such a powerful card that its worth the dead draw in later game to up the chances of me hitting it in my initial 7. Also the longer the game goes on the worse Bloodmoon gets, since there is more of a chance that they draw into the one or two basic in their deck to break the lock.

I don't know I haven't gotten to play it yet, it seems good on paper since I run like three creatures but if Jaya is in play and not protected it would seem like a horrible card. I used to play a competitive Karn, Silver Golem, and it worked alright there, but that list also has much more disposable mana, and ways to untap artifact. I ran it in tandem with forcefield, and once it was set up it was actually better.

I'm a very spiky player, like you I tried to pick under powered generals, and in that way make it challenging for myself, but that didn't work out for me. I discovered that I would rather embrace my spiky side and play really spiky generals, while keeping this list so I have something casual to play with, since I've been kicked out of play groups before Frown My spiky group doesn't meet up very often.
