I've done it off a Reckless Scholar before. Sometimes you can just get there in a controlling madness deck, or a control deck with this and a reckless scholar.
Okay, so I was having a discussion with my roommate about how overloaded Mizzix's Mastery would work with a split second spell. The question is this: If a copy of a split second spell, Word of Seizing for example, is on the bottom of the stack, can the other copies be added above it and if so, can those copies be responded to?
If we do end up in W/B the enchantment goes up in value by a fair amount, so I say take it here. Grabbing it with Hartebeast or Auramancer seems like a pretty decent game, better than a solid but not exceptional creature.
I'm going there to play. Even if I open two goyfs I'll ship the pool. I'm flying out from halfway across the country, I didn't do that to play in side events.
I know that my LGS doesn't care. They're fine with you doing whatever you want with your own cards. That said, if someone actually tried to set up shop in their basement and offer direct competition with them that attitude would probably change.
Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Normally I don't get upset about bannings or rule changes, but this annoys the crap out of me. This just invalidated the primary strategy of one of my favorite decks, as well as making already good generals better. Now Porphorous will probably get banned in the next update, and my friend with one EDH deck won't be able to play. That makes the format way more accessible.
Let's just hope my group can agree to ignore this change and try to hold onto sanity. Maybe we'll just start our own banlist.
Losing a match to my own greed sucked really hard. I got punished for a greedy keep in game two and never really got to do anything, and then I got punished for my splash in game three, missing black mana with reach of shadows in hand against my opponent's one creature, a 6/6 Aven Sunstriker. Losing to bad luck is easy to accept. Losing to myself makes me angry.
Baleful Strix. It's a flying, sword wielding, cantriping removal spell. That's also an artifact. I have a Deck solely designed to recur this guy as much as possible.
I suppose I'll be cautiously optimistic.
Brimaz, King of Oreskos - Mufasa, King of the Oreoes
Lorthos, the Tidemaker- LOOORRTHHOOOOS
I don't think any of my other nicknames are all that unique.
Feldon of the Third Path: Without flame, there would be no iron tools, no cooked meals, no purge of old growth to make room for new." -Brighthearth creed -- Rings of Brighthearth
Lorthos, the Tidemaker: For years, the landfolk have emptied their refuse into the waters. It's time to return the favor." -- Inundate
Oloro, Ageless Ascetic: The best denials are simply that - a beginning and end unchanged, a dream with no memory." -- Rewind
Let's just hope my group can agree to ignore this change and try to hold onto sanity. Maybe we'll just start our own banlist.
