Ever since they started printing walkers it always struck me that they could actually print a card depicting two characters. The uniqueness rule has gone away, but they could still double up much the same way they can depict two characters on a regular legendary. That might be a way to cram in more characters in a set for a planeswalker war.
An excellent idea in theory. In practice, however, I think the two walkers would have to share both flavor and mechanical overlap in order for the design not seem clunky. Within the current possible roster, such a scenario would most likely be something like "Ral & Tezzeret, Diabolical Engineers."
Getting back on topic. We are guaranteed at least fifteen planeswalker cards to be printed across the Ravnica War trilogy. Spread out thusly:

As unlikely as it is, I'm hoping for more occurrences like in Dominaria where Chandra received a Planeswalker deck card even though she didn't get a main set card. Nevertheless, this means only 9 out of 15 of the trilogy's walkers are for sure going to be different characters, provided there isn't any double booking like Sarkhan in Khans block or Huatli in Ixalan block.
Now, let's take a look at our potential ensemble cast.
Not included in this roster are the allies Ajani is said to have been assembling. The only walkers he's known to be acquainted with are his fellow Book Club members Tamiyo and Narset. Additionally, Ramaz, a minion of Bolas, is not included either. And then we have to assume Ajani doesn't drag along Narset who drags along Sarkhan who drags along Ugin. Domri is probably somewhere around too. It's a mess of possibility I'm not going to speculate on, so I'm sticking to the Gatewatch and Bolas League members.
Most Likely To See Main Set Printing: Jace, Ajani, Gideon, Nicol Bolas, Ral Zarek, and Vraska.
Likely To See Main Set Printing: Chandra and Liliana.
Neither Likely Nor Unlikely To See Main Set Printing: Teferi and Tezzeret
No, no he was not. He brought Tevesh Szat onto the Titans because he knew that the Doom of Fools would murder one of the other planeswalkers, giving Urza an excuse to kill Tevesh Szat to power up the powerstone bombs. When called out on this by Taysir, URZA STRAIGHT UP MURDERED TAYSIR IN COLD BLOOD. Oh, and then there is the whole thing with blowing up the continent of Argoth and conducting eugenics experiments in Benalia. Oh, and he straight up annihilated Serra's Realm rather than try and fix it (which, as an oldwalker, he could if he had wanted to). And then there is his little spat with his brother ending up as a war that wrecked Dominaria so hard it went into an Ice Age and allowed the Phyrexians back into the plane. And blowing up Tolaria, killing hundreds of students, was "a minor inconvenience", something he was called out on by both Barrin and Rayne called him out on, and which, in the long run, caused Teferi to phase out Shiv and Zhalfir and abandon Dominaria for a while when the invasion started, depriving the coalition of much needed resources. Oh, and he friggin JOINED Phyrexia during the invasion.
No, Urza was a villain, all the way through.
^ This. Urza was pretty much a Villain Protagonist. A "Good is Not Nice" character example would be either Ugin (which is a massive stick in the mud, just as methodical and cunning as Bolas himself, and that sees minor sacrifices like a WHOLE FREAKING PLANE as acceptable sacrifices for the greater good of the Multiverse) or Sorin (When he's not being a complete idiot, that is. No, I'm still not over the terrible Shadows over Innistrad story fiasco). Both of them think they are doing what they see as the best for those around him, but they often need to take extreme measures to do so.
Urza, in the other hand... isn't. There are so many times that Urza just said "screw it" and made everyone else's lives miserable just to fulfill his own selfish ambitions. Most of the times, when he did something nice to someone, it was usually for his own personal benefit as well. Even when he was trying to save Dominaria, it could be just as easily attributed to the fact that back then Dominaria was the Nexus of the Multiverse, and its destruction would cause the end of every Plane in existence.

Precisely.
Urza was not a hero, at all. His war against Phyrexia was a case of Evil vs. Evil. Lily is the same, she is a villain protagonist.
Eh i don't know about Lili. In my book the end game for a Villain Protag has to be good (ie No Phyrexia) even if the methodology is evil as all hell.
She is a necromancer.
She is a mass murderer.
She traffics with demons.
She manipulates people around her to achieve her goals.
She literally threatened someone with watching their friends get eaten alive by ghouls unless they did what she asked.
A villain protagonist does not need to have a "good" end goal. They just have to be a/the protagonist of the story being told, which Lily was.
And in the last story I read, she asked people how to not be like that. She's still in deep, but it's clear that she's interested in finding out if there's an alternative way to live her life.
Meh, Urza isn't a straight up villain.
He was a massive jerk during the Brothers' War and after that he became a little better. He was guilty for his brother's death but, conviently, he blamed mostly phyrexians. All he did after that was for destroying phyrexia, not for personal gain. He could have easily sat at the right of Yawgmoth and rule Dominaria and several other planes but he never did (i'll talk about his betrayal later)
At the end he was a complex character that i'd put in the WUR combination, being mostly blue and having the worst blue and white traits.
He had a very cold and distorted vision of the world. Everything was a pawn, or even better a cog into the machine that is the existance. A terrible view, but that also lacked some villain concept like cruelty.
The example is the killing of Tevesh Szat. He needed a soul for activating the bomb, so he had 3 options: 1) sacrifice his own 2) straight up kill someone 3) wait for some kind of loophole. He choose 3) which is the bluest option, not good but not even 100% evil.
Even in his betrayal he wasn't straight up evil. He didn't do that out of spite or for personal gain. He really believed Phyrexia was right. Phyrexia fit his distorted, mechanistic vision of the world and he wanted to be part of it.
At the end, it's hard to say that Urza is a villain because his vision of the world wasn't normal.
Glad to see that many condemn him for destroying nature and environment. Looking at the politicians doesn't seem like many share that kind of view.
Meanwhile Liliana is just egoistic over and over. She did her dark deal just to preserve her beauty and her power. Her vision of the world is that she is more important than anyone else because she is Liliana. All the Josu story was made to make her more emphatic and give good vibes, but in the end she has been an egoistic jerk for hundreds of year.
This conversation is not relevant. Take it outside.
Assuming its only one command walker per deck, the lineup should be something like:
Urza (#1 most requested planeswalker, probably 5-color artifacts)
Serra (#2 most requested planeswalker, probably a mix of life-gain, token generation, and Angel tribal)
"New Character" (Like Daretti in Commander 2014, I doubt they'll pass up the opportunity to make someone new)
"Wild Card" (Could literally be any planeswalker character with a high chance of it being a character who's never been depicted on a planeswalker card)
Nowhere near guaranteed, though, seeing as the commander design team usually makes the card effects first, then shoe-horns a character into that design.
Albyn is a large set depicting a high fantasy setting with Arthurian and Celtic overtones. The inherent magic of the world revolves around reputation and recognition, resulting in a legends matter theme reflected in the set's three named mechanics.

Why, just WHY is Jace doing something physically difficult like hanging from an air ladder (or whatever it's called), looking like he seriously took to the gym and now shows off? His.. his image! That's Gideon stuff! Where did the supernerd mentality go?
On one hand, self-improvement is a part of blue's color philosophy.
On the other hand, an overworked desk-jocky mind mage like Jace doesn't seem the type to have such a stereotypical athletic build, at least by choice.

I like kindle-esque spells, so my favorite card is Diligent Farmhand for being the only card that enables X to equal more than what would normally be allowed.
An excellent idea in theory. In practice, however, I think the two walkers would have to share both flavor and mechanical overlap in order for the design not seem clunky. Within the current possible roster, such a scenario would most likely be something like "Ral & Tezzeret, Diabolical Engineers."
Gatewatch: Jace, Gideon, Chandra, Ajani, Teferi
Bolas League: Nicol Bolas, Tezzeret, Ral Zarek, Vraska, Liliana.
Unlikey To See Main Set Printing: The rest

#1. Eldrazi Ramp Stompy Colorless(Is Actually 5 color)
#2. Flippy Morph Tempo Colorless(Is Actually 5 color)
#3. Tuning Artifact Counters Colorless (Is Actually colorless, potentially)

Albyn is a large set depicting a high fantasy setting with Arthurian and Celtic overtones. The inherent magic of the world revolves around reputation and recognition, resulting in a legends matter theme reflected in the set's three named mechanics.

Renown X (Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, if it isn't renowned, put X +1/+1 counter(s) on it and it becomes renowned.)

Destined - As you cast this CARDNAME, name a card. Then, reveal the top card of your library and put it onto the bottom of your library. If the named card is revealed this way, EFFECT.
Milestone (If this spell targeted a legendary or renowned permanent, put it onto the top of its owner's library instead of their graveyard as it resolves.)
The story of Albyn takes place across two sets. The first half occurs in ALBYN and the second in INTO THE WILDERWILD.

On one hand, self-improvement is a part of blue's color philosophy.
On the other hand, an overworked desk-jocky mind mage like Jace doesn't seem the type to have such a stereotypical athletic build, at least by choice.
I'll ask MaRo for a maybe on blogatog, but this is how it probably went down:
Poor Jace
Starting with Ixalan, you now receive a buy-a-box promotional booster pack containing foil Guay basic lands, a random standard-legal rare/mythic, a random foil of any standard-legal card, and...I forget...
But this is all in addition to the regular buy-a-box promo which appears to be the 'Inferno Titan-osaurus thing' Burning Sun's Avatar.
A GUB counters matter deck showcasing the rise of Yawgmoth and the original Phyrexia.
A UR artifact deck about the Brother's War; featuring pre-spark Urza, a new Mishra card, as well as their apprentices Ashnod and Tawnos.
A WUBRG spellslinger deck about Jodah's adventures as the Archmage Eternal. Perhaps featuring a Jaya planeswalker card?
A WURBG super-friends/group-hug deck about the Coalition and the Nine Titans.
A UBR control deck telling the story of Nicol Bolas' humiliating defeat at the hands of mere mortal Tetsuo Umezawa.
