You really have to customize your resume to the the specific job you are applying for. Even if it means dumbing yourself down.

a lot of companies now are also pulling a background / credit check which will show work history and if to much is left off they will not hire based on you not giving accurate information

i have been told that several times ... some of it comes from what others have stated ... what i also got from a hiring manager when i confronted them about it was this (it was for a computer repair place) 'they want someone who knows little, so they can train them to do specific steps instead of someone who already knows how to do the job and may not do it exactly how the company wants'

This isn't a terrible idea, but it did make me giggle.

"Hey kids? I've got magic cards, want to come into my van?"

If the OP is serious about this, it sounds like he's in a good position to start up his own LGS, if there is such a drought of them around.

if it is something that may not be enough business for an actual storefront and there are not any other places in the area that would let him 'rent' out a space within their walls ...

i have seen quite a few business set ups that were ran out of a large van, old school bus... even one that was out of a trailer that he would pull behind his truck ...

it is different but would not have much overhead when compared to the cost of renting a place and such. but a website for it is a must ...

you could set up a business plan that would in effect be a mobile card / hobby shop ... with a dedicated van / mini van / truck for the business ... similiar to how the ice cream trucks, sno cone trucks, and so on do their business ...

if all that is in there is 4 precons i would leave it be ... only time i pick them up is if there is a commander deck in them .. which is rare around here ... i see one pack which looks like a pack of cards from deck builders toolkit ... and one that is from the vs deck

I've seen a few photos regarding Pucatrade saying, "check out what I received!", but I don't seem to understand how it works. Honestly, the posts and photos seem more like someone pushing the trade website instead of being an actual trade.

From going to the website it looks like you send out cards to people who have the cards on their wants list and in return you receive points. Once you have these points you can spend them to get cards that you want? (Looking for some confirmation here from someone who has used the site.)

Another question, what type of guarantees are there that the site developer can't give himself a ton of points and get whatever cards he wants for free? Also, why can't I get 20 friends or create 20 accounts together and "trade" to up my points?

the first part, is basically people that are enjoying the site but wanting more people on it so that there will be a better diversity of cards and more want lists on the site for more potential for making points to get what they want .. but it can come off as a push for the site ...

second part, that is basically how the site works...

third part, there is no guarantee that the site developer would not do that, but have talked with him on several occasions and he seems to take the site quite seriously so i dont see it happening ... i have done a trade or two with him as well .. both sending cards and receiving cards from him.

the last part about the 20 friends... the points value is basically a fixed amount .. with the odd 250pts getting injected into the system when someone else signs up ... the total points will shift between people .. but there is no way to just generate points out of thin air .. so 20 friends could basically shift their small amount of points from one another till one person has them all .. and then they could be spent to get a good card or two ... but that seems almost pointless ...

the whole site is built around trust ... there is a small up front cost for mailing out your first few cards .. and that is the biggest leap ... after that it all starts equaling out ... personally i try to not mail out cards that are less then $1 unless it is several cards to one person. just to not waste money on postage stamps.

i have turned a bunch of sub 3$ cards that were just sitting in my binders into a 99% complete legacy goblin deck, a playset of Dark Confidant, and odd other cards i have been looking for locally for a while with no luck... it also let me get playsets of a lot of the rares / mythics from M14 that i wanted (minus like 6 but that just means less i will have to buy / trade for locally) (the M14 stuff is still in the mail on it's way to me should be here sometime this coming week)

have slowed down on using it some right now because of how the market works ... not many people wanting the cards i have left that have enough points built up to afford me to send it to them. but i still check a few times a day to see if i can get another card or two sent out...

That's a big reason why with those more expensive binders you want them for light-duty, low volume tasks- you don't want to cram them as full as they can go. They're to offer the safest protection to a small portion of your collection- to be the binder that doesn't go with you to stores, or to be the "holdback" binder, which doesn't even come out unless people have big stuff that you need and you need it to trade at all equitably.

yeah i see that now, but these are to far gone to use for that ... will likely pick up one or two of the smaller 4 card versions to use for the higher dollar stuff after a while. (most of my higher stuff gets posted on an online trade site now though, so rarely have them to trade locally)

i have a few decks i am slowly working on getting nice ... my two main ones i consider 'treasure' would be my Modern Burn, which i am slowly going to foil out what i can (do not see the Bob's getting foiled out anytime soon though) and the other one would be my modern Affinity, got about 1/3 of it either foiled or signed already.

after that my two commander decks area in process as well for foiling / signing / altering ...

fixing to be ditching my two monster binders after almost a year ... the outside is starting to tear where it folds, and some of the pages are starting to crack from being turned so often.

second reason is the cards that are nearest to the bind of the book on the top and bottom most pages are starting to get a slight curve in them from it being full ...

going back to a D ring zippered binder but changing the pages i will be using ... picked up the UltraPro side load pages that are 18 slots with a black background.

i always have a habit of looking at the warrenty and if i can find a part that has lifetime i get it ...

over the years i have narrowed down to Corsair for PSU and eVga for video cards.

building a PC is like a jigsaw puzzle .. the parts only go one way (most all the time) ... just look at each part separate, and some of them will start to make sense ... the rest just fall into place ...
