There is an "angry" guy at my LGS. Not sure why he keeps playing if he is so unhappy. No one wins all the time. No One.

Pretty much everyone is tired of him and ready for him to go away to a different store. A few have spoken to him but nothing changes for more than a day or two.

Overall just negative comments all the time. You can see that he isn't having fun.

Has made some comments like "can't stand loosing to a BS deck and someone that isn't as good as me".

I think the own is about to kick him out.

  • posted a message on Was there Cheating at Pro Tour BNG?
    There always is!

Look at the PT that Melissa DeTora made Top 8. There are 3+ videos of her making game play errors and lots of extra lands. Really, how many extra lands did she play in that tournament?!?!

There are so many documented issues. Soon we will see these Pro Tours done on computer. So much money on the line.....time to make an advantage.

Cheaty Faces need to good down.

    Brainstorm is pretty basic.

Enough with the "2 long days of magic = sloppy = OK"

    I don't buy it.

How many commentators, judges, players were standing around and didn't even notice?!?!

Happens way to much that these cheaters are caught after the fact by the masses watching video.

Even at the last pro tour in the finals the Head Judge had to come down from the booth to correct game play.

    "Sorry...opps"

So how to manage the game when a planeswalker has Indestructibility?

Pretty basic that Hero's Downfall will not destroy it but what about damage and loyalty?

What if controller puts loyalty to 0 by using abilities?

    Magic is full of cheaters.

Look at all the ones caught on camera in just the last week.

How many are cheating off camera, at FNM, drafts, ETC ?!?!

Happens every day at every shop.

I am going to push for BNG-BNG-THS.

I am tired of THS at this point.

I do know that the 2 sets are to work together and drafting 3 of BNG wouldn't be best.

Complaining that this activity should be moved due to a sporting events timing is disgustingly shortsighted.

So, it is confirmed that the prerelease sets are 3 Theros, 3 BOTG?

Will JiN be 2/2/2, or just 0/0/6?

You certainly are not a business person.

Competing with Huge events locally, nationally, or globally will hurt your bottom line.

MTG is certainly a blip in the world though.

    Quote from symar
If you don't want Theros packs, don't participate in prerelease, and see if you can talk some people into triple BNG drafts (as horrible as that may or may not be).

The amount that I play at the Prerelease will certainly be effected by the lack of BotG packs. There are 6 that I can make it to. I though I might do 4 with one being 2HG. Now I will probably do 1 or 2.

Make a good event/product and people will buy. Don't and they wont.

The NFL and the Super Bowl dwarfs MTG. All in one day. Don't make any bad assumption that people just like the commercials and that is it.

110 million people will watch. Over 10 Billion will be spent. 100 million will be gambled on the game.

There have been valid points made above.

    I don't want anymore Theros packs.

You would think that Hasbro, world's largest toy company, would have there act together.

WotC being around long enough certainly makes tons of business mistakes.

    1) Only 2 boosters of Born of the Gods?!?!?! That is totally lame. Prerelease is suppose to be about the new set!

    What Do I Get?

Each Prerelease Pack contains items designed specifically for the chosen Heroic Path.
2 Born of the Gods booster packs
    3 Theros booster packs
    1 seeded booster pack
    1 promo card
1 Master Your Destiny activity card
    1 Spindown™ life counter
    1 Hero's Path welcome letter
    1 Hero Card

For this event, players may use the promo card included with the Prerelease Pack in their tournament deck.

    2) Having the prerelease on Superbowl Sunday?

  • posted a message on Whats the most suspicious deck you could face in limited before calling a judge?
    Quote from TheOnlyOne652089
Well decklists eat time and for really new players its allready a problem to "read" and build a deck in like 50 minutes, its even worse if they have to register a decklist first and ship the packs.

So we did that for some time and its just crap for a casual event.

Best solution is to flaten the price payout by a lot, so its not important to finish X-0 and the like, it wont really give you any reasonable advantage to cheat stuff in, so players dont do it.

Also, just let the players sit on a table and see each others pool. Its a no-brainer for a casual format like a Pre-Release, if the event is overall not really competitive (as it should be for a Pre-Release) , all gets less painfull and players dont have any reason to cheat in that way.

If potential pay-out is big (like first gets 30 booster packs or something crazy) , the need to cheat is much higher for some players, they feel a high need to finish good.

So if someone opens a strong pool the surrounding players will see it, recognize the pool and the event is much more enjoyable that way.

If someone badly wants to sit alone and build a deck, its fairly "suspicious" and its a good idea that a judge at least looks for that kind of guy (which is non-existing in my area, nobody is like that).

Chances that someone wants to be "alone" to cheat is pretty big, thats just reality.

Also if someone has insane decks for like 2 Pre-Release in a row, its quite a good idea to check on that players more carefully, if they legit open that stuff all is fair, otherwise you get you a cheater and better get into a discussion with him/her (most the time that should do it allready).

I see newer drafters find a more secluded space to build draft decks. I am sure that newer players put a lot of value that secrecy.

I did it too in the beginning till I didn't feel it was necessary and didn't want people to think I was adding to my card pool.

What about people that collaborate on deck building or that are streaming with live comments?

I consider that cheating. You are gaining an advantage of multiple brains.

    That is pretty sleazy.

I don't watch people stream very much ( 2 hours in 6 months) but every time they are acting on comments from viewers.

This guy is super guilty "NumotTheNummy".

The magic community is lacking in morals and ethics in a big way.
