Just a random question, has anybody experience Dragon Shield 100 sleeves box with less than 100 sleeves. I kinda got screwed with this one batch with only 96 in it.

I've seen it play with quite some success at least 4-5 times. But that was Ultimate Bravery EDH... I don't expect any good result from it in a regular game for many of the reason stated above.

I agree. We should all only play g/x decks because they are the most objectively fun and anyone who disagrees does not know the truth about EDH. Everyone should just play their decks because interaction beyond high fiving about how many land are in play is unfun and equivalent to casting Stasis while kicking puppies. I for one will never play with anyone who casts tutors, removal spells, blue cards, things I arbitrarily decide I don't like but will probably cast myself later.

I'm glad we can come to the conclusion that EDH is about a single definition of fun. Now we can start complaining about how much ramp is too much now that we've decided to not play reactionary things.

    Silly Jivan Rolleyes

You're not supposed to combat ramp. You're not supposed to punish people in EDH. EDH is all about fun, so just ramp faster than the ramp player and swing big creatures at them before he can. Stop thinking about ways to combat a strategy that is EDH and just focus on plowing stuff through the red zone. That being said I am currently making a ramp/ponza style deck with Ruric Thar, the Unbowed. He's not played enough and honestly, I would say he's the most powerful general released in the last year. With ruric, you ramp him out fast or LD their mana base back into the stone age until you can get ruric out. Once he's out.... ramping will literally kill them until they deal with it. The best way to deal with ramp, other than obvious hate, is to force the player to save themselves from dieing. If they wrath the board one turn instead of ramping, you set them back a turn and allowed the rest of the table to do something productive.

In case you didn't get Jivan sarcasm, people don't play the game the same way. I hate mindless ramping and using Fun of EDH as an excuse to promote bad play and bad resources management.
Why does it have to be the guy that ramp the most that win. I prefer game when people respond to your stuff and try to play around you. Not just drop the fattiest green fatty.

EDIT: I don't get you, was this supposed to be irony or sarcast... From an other thread:

I still do not understand the holy EDH mantra of "do not touch lands." It's border line stupid that people complain about ramp, but hate the answer to ramp. That being said, unban Balance.

It just doesn't make sense with you previous post.

All star in my Bruna deck, but that's mainly because instant speed triple enchantment tutor and attach it is just great.

Otherwise, I love doing politics with it, helping the underdog could be a good move. Otherwise it's still an instant tutor, you go get 3 answer, not your win con.

I've been known to abuse it in my Experiment Kraj with Novijen, Heart of Progress, Oran-Rief, the Vastwood, Master Biomancer and Zameck Guildmage among other things

I don't know, but so far, it just seems like it would be abused by stronger/competitive deck. You just have to force people to waste resources to protect themselves, then go out. I think it will only create a greater gap as the game goes on. It will slow down game to arrive at the same predicted outcome.

EDIT: there is no miracle solution, but usually talking helps quite a lot. Don't try to put prize on the line unless it's just randomly for playing the game. Communication is key adding more rules just retrain people and make gameplay experience worse.

I do have to agree that Garruk, Primal Hunter is more for aggro/big green but Garruk Relentless fits the stax theme (at least mine).

Also Gideon Jura is a decent option for protection and allow you a beater if needed. I could run more but I just like cards that net more advantage the longer it stays on the field. In a Stax deck it's not rare people won't be able to answer them as quickly as they would in a regular game. Stuff like Assemble the Legion are great sadly the red can't be run in WBG gameplan.

But try the Relentless//Veil-Cursed it's quite effective.

Ghave give you access to the best token generating planeswalkers and are a great tool in a stax deck. They are hard to remove permanant and provide advantage over time that can lead to problematic situation for your opponnents.

    Have you considered them?

Form of the Squirrel nuff said.

I'm sorry, but you MUST include Giant Growth either the Alpha or 5th Edition art.

I saw you have Squirrel Nest. Awakening combo pretty well with it and is overally useful in a token deck.

EDIT: I meant Earthcraft, which I saw you already have, my mistake.

EDIT 2: Concordant Crossroads can be an insanly good card due to how many creature you can have on the field, but it also help your opponents, but as you're the one playing it, you're in control of when it hit the field.

I go to TappedOut then open my binder and start from there, check every cards that is decent and since you have categories for mainboard, sideboard and maybeboard it's easy to make some sort of choice in the cards I have.
After that I usually wounder around until I find more than 100 cards and make cuts after selection then goes testing.

sadly those are all "this turn"

isn't there a card that allows you to put counters on all creatures you control?

This was meant to be used against the many boardwhipe my meta pack. As far as I've checked there isn't a lot more than what has already been said.

But Pili-Pala + Training Grounds With Kraj works quite well XD.

yea Kraj seemed like a gimmicky creature, but now i am seeing some truly deadly potential.

    also Kraj cancel's out persist.

I run Cauldron of Souls with Novijen, Heart of Progress/Oran-Rief, the Vastwood/Zameck Guildmage

    Works quite well ^^

Master Biomancer set up every creature that etb on your side ready to be used with Kraj. He's been my favourite general for about a year now, really fun and can get pretty ridiculous with many activated abilities.

I've tried putting Torpor Orb in mine since it one of my favourite card but with all the Graft that it simply kills it wasn't worth the inclusion. If you want mine is in my Signature.

Also it's harder to perform in a meta where there's a boardwhipe every damn turn... I'm starting to have a problem on mine but otherwise real fun.

EDIT: I added couple of finishers I use depending on the game

    Aggro route:

    Combo:
Knacksaw Clique + Bloom Tender/Krosan Restorer = Infinite Exile Mill
    Pili-Pala + Krosan Restorer = Infinite Mana
Pili-Pala + Training Grounds = Infinite untapping, choose how you want to end this.
Viridian Joiner + Gilder Bairn = Infinite counter and Mana

It's really to go oops I comboed again with Kraj tho get ready for the hate even if you didn't build for it. In my first draft of the deck, I didn't include any intentional Infinite combo, just good synergy but either people were assuming I had or I would discover new one just by playing the deck.

  • posted a message on Torch Fiend or Manic Vandal?
    Depend on what you want
Torch Fiend serves as a Rattlesnake excel as long as you leave open. Great for political effect also if you want to use it the turn it gets online it's more color intensive.

Manic Vandal EtB is limited to sorcery speed but is harder to get around the effect. But he has an awesome flavor text Grin Also Manic Vandal effect is mandatory meaning you could regret it.
