It is a solid choice in Elves decks. Might be better things to do in the 99, but tossing a token that it pumps to 2/2 every turn helps fuel other elf nonsense.

two creatures that I absolutely love but can never find a home for in decks:

Mirror-Sigil Sergeant - obviously this has color identity issues and legendary/copy issues but the effect is cool

Obsidian Fireheart - an extremely unique ability that I like a lot. the closest I got to making him a commander was in a Mairsil deck. I might actually revisit that deck and redesign it to just be obsidian fireheart support

I second Mirror-Sigil, if the ability was "At your upkeep, you may pay U: Put a 4/4 Rhino Solider Token with this ability into play." The cost of U fixes color issues, and the token not being a direct copy fixes Legend Rule.

I've had cards physically thrown at me before because I cast Mwonvuli Acid-Moss on a bounceland. Like, if you're going to play a card, accept the risks inherent to doing so. I don't understand casuals' "no disruption" mentality; the goal of the game is to WIN. And getting mad at someone for trying to do so - especially with a fair deck - is ridiculous. LD is fair game. It's how some colors interact with combo.

For some reason, people consider their mana sacred in this format, it is a very odd trend. In Legacy, I play Pox, and I never hear "What? HOW DARE YOU DESTROY MY LANDS?!"

So, many, not all, but many EDH players feel that Land Destruction/MLD has no place in EDH. I don't tend to agree, but I see their point. Too many people will drop an Armageddon just because they can, with no thought of how it will play out.

Often I see players, both online and off, getting very angry even about incidental or targeted Land Destruction.

Two examples: 4 man table, opponent is one mana off summoning a massive bomb (forget which, but it had been tutored up a turn or two ago) with Lightning Greaves in play. I Vindicate their Temple of the False God. They call me names for using Land Destruction, and say it has no place in EDH.

Second example (Online): Sydri, Galvanic Genius deck, 4 man table. I have a good board state, and 2 Staff of Nin (one copied) in play. They say "That's it, staves are gone next turn" so I drop Mycosynth Lattice , and use Sydri to kill all their green mana. They curse at me for land D, and quit the game.

I think that those uses of Land Destruction, particularly since they aren't what the deck was built to do, are fair play. Others don't. Thoughts?

There has GOT to be some fun to be had with this. It's slow, but it tutors, and when you play the thing you tutored up, it recurs itself, generating card advantage. Even if it eats a kill spell, you can summon a demon and fetch it back.

You know, we're going to end up with fans of people like Unsleeved and Desolator on one side, and Wedge and Professor Hippy Hair on the the other. I can't help but think that Wedge and the Prof, among others, are just making it worse. Now, I don't like Mr. Unsleeved Media guy at all. His content annoys me, whereas I've built MTGO decks showcased by Wedge, and often watch the Prof. for entertainment.

That said, I ALSO don't like Sprankle. If you really want a realistic view on the subject, I suggest Desolator Magic.

I would never run such a deck. Getting your entire mana base hit with Surgical or Extirpate sounds bad. If I HAD to, I would run a deck based on recurring my 40 Strip Mines, getting colored Mana from mana rocks.

Abrupt Decay the Blood Moon, then use Spine of Ish Sah off Boseiju, Who Shelters All, or anything else. Yes, if you are on all nonbasics, that won't work, but why were you on 100% nonbasic? Even most Legacy and Modern decks keep a couple basics of each type, so Blood Moon isn't autoloss.
(Edit: never mind. That doesn't work)

Variation between countries is ultra common. I think that Japan, for example, 100% does its own thing paper-wise. Hell, I have cards I pulled from Kaladesh where the red almost looks yellow-orange.

Scarab God is good in Standard and EDH. Other then that? Eh. Unless you NEED it for a commander, I'd pass.

Most of the time if I want to downplay a threat, I'll make a point of how few options I have. "Man, there is really not much to do here... I guess... Wild Mongrel pass?" If you announce "cardname pass" instead of "cardname, does that resolve," you also have a better chance of letting it resolve.

Very good idea. I will follow it this weekend.

Problem with that is next guy draws while the blue player is going "Whoa whoa whoa, lemme read it. What else ya got? Cards in hand?"

I've only rarely heard of fake boosters, and never for sets made post 2010. Fake cards, sure, but that is where the money is. Why print 15 cards and pack them to sell for 3.99 when you can presumably print one rare and sell it for 5?

I actually think this is an ok card. It doesn't seem like it at first, but even just using this on the block means people have to ask themselves how they feel about their attacker taking -1/1
