Glad to see this is a rare, I think it's a better fit. I remember trying this guy out when he was first printed, but Dimir was just so awful at the time. He'd have been an all-star with UB Hybrid though.
It's possible that the set took inspiration from Game of Thrones, either consciously or subconsciously. It's very much a part of the zeitgeist and I'm sure many members of R&D watch. But these just seem to be generic tropes for the most part.
I don't honestly know what message this is trying to portray. Because, I mean, either way you just lost money so of course you're going to be mad. You're upset even though you're losing slightly less? That what you're getting at?
If it was reprinted at uncommon, I would have lost even more money. And yet I wish it was, because I'd much rather more people have access to the card at a reasonable price than lose more value on the cards I purchased?
Not quite sure why the 0 ability needed the life loss. I would think having to wait until your next upkeep to get the card back (so you can't keep chaining her abilities) would be drawback enough.
Edit: Just saw that it can hit your opponent's creatures as well. That makes it better. Still not sure about the life loss.
Is it just me or does she look way too generic and bland? Pose, clothing, simply everything doesn't scream planeswalker to me. Like, at all.
You mean like with her boobs hanging out, dressed in some band-aid sized armor and polishing a sword?
At least that would stand out among all the 'strong' female characters we've gotten lately, heck it's almost a sin to show some female allure and skin in magic now. It seems you misinterpreted my post a bit, so I attached a picture to reinforce my train of thought.
Why is "strong" in scare quotes? Elspeth, Kiora, Liliana, Chandra, Arlinn, Nahiri, Vraska, Narset and Nissa all seem plenty strong to me. Is it possible you were using "strong" as a euphemism for "not as explicitly sexualized as you'd like them to be"?
As others have said the Scarecrows hint at a return next spring (that or they're just there as artifact synergy with Kaladesh, but why make them all Scarecrows then?)
There were a handful of Scarecrows in origin Innistrad. They were meant to be a tribe of their own, but we're cut for space issues. They proved popular enough to warrant a few more in the return to INN.
I don't remember there being that many of them the first time around - a quick Gatherer search confirms that there was just one. Interesting...

One-Eyed Scarecrow was supposed to have some buddies, but there wasn't room. This carried over into SOI. http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/142475788698/reading-your-blog-it-sounded-like-scarecrows-may

**** yeah, I would. If Ronald McDonald was undercosted and Modern playable, I'd pick up a playset in a heartbeat.
