Read what i posted previously. I TESTED it alot, UR burn, mono red. Sure its a decent card when u get it in your first 7, but its god awful top deck in mid to late games. And FYI, it does not mean that playing magic since 1995 auto qualifies you as a good player. And how many decks that have vexing devil made it to top 32 of SCG nashville? 0.
Wait, so because it didn't top one tournament it is bad?
That's why it is pretty disappointing, we already know Ninjutsu and Commander format was never going to work properly, and this just more or less confirm it is not suitable for constructed either.
Ninjutsu and commander work together just fine, jut not as commanders. Anyways, why would you want them to know that you could sneak in a boss creature if they opt to block?
I was also hoping the Legendary Ninja was not so mana intensive - I hope it doesnt turn out to be a creature that is unable to fit into both Constructed and Commander format - all the hype over it and it only ends up on the kitchen table or casual format would be a waste.
Odds are, it wont see constructed play. It is to expensive for most eternal formats, for it's effect. Plus, the majority of them probably won't be constructed playable, only a handfull were in commander.
The legendary Ninja does not look anything like constructed material. Also, Ninjutsu does not work with Exile zone, but the ninja could still be a non-commander creature so it's not all bad.
I don't know about you guys, but I would want a ninjutsu general even if it did work in the command zone, because then they would know it was comming.
Guys, don't be expecting goyf. It doesn't make any sense on the plane, in my eyes...
This is what I was thinking. Goyf wasnt even a rav block card. Wouldn't he have made more sense in innistrad as well since that was a graveyard based set? Putting goyf in rtr makes about as much sense as putting force of will in.
Because when a card is good in more than one format, the demand increases significantly as there are more players who can use that card.
I'd rather these have quirky new cards then run into the "oh crap, everyone in legacy wants 4 of these, suddenly the deck costs $60+ and I can't buy it anymore" again.
That is what I was implying. Every one prior, was trying to say that planechase being commander 2 was the selling point for the entire set.
There are commander elements in planechase 2, aka Insurance in case pc2 sucks, at least you can strip it apart and use them in commander. That's why you see wanderer. Expect there to be cards that match the previous commander products. They may not all be gold but they will be useful.
If the commander cards are what sells the sets, why are the most expensive cards in the commander set the legacy playable ones? I think the best insurance for planechase 2 to sell, would be to put cards that people want for their eternal decks in.
We had a local store that was being funded by the owner. He was making a net loss each quarter and having to keep the place open by having a second job. Wizards did nothing to support him, instead they started stripping his store of privileges because he wasn't making enough sales. Instead of trying to breath new life into those stores. After a couple months of this he was stripped of his ability to sanction events and the player rewards got canceled so people just quit coming and started driving 30mins to stores who had a prize payout instead. So, YES I blame wizards for not giving people a reason to play locally instead of online or where the money is.
No offense to whoever that store owner may be, but if he was running a net loss each quarter, he probably wasnt doing something right. It is not Wizard's job to hold every store owners hand in how to run their business. I doubt him having to close down had anything to do with how Wizards runs their company, or what they charge him for boxes or anything like that.
There are very few new cards. They won't need long to spoil the entire thing.
It depends on how they spoil it. I doubt they will give every popular magic site their own spoiler when there are only 59 things left to spoil. They could easily do like one or two a day, and then give the really popular places their own spoiler to hype.
I just wanna know which old planes I have to buy since apparently 2 in each deck will be reprints (they said 8 new planes and 2 new phenoms per deck, and 10 planes per deck)
They said that it is a ten card planar deck, not 10 plane cards. The planar deck includes the 2 phenomena as well, so it would end up equaling 10 with no need for reprints.
