I love your list, I'm running a Kruphix morph deck but it's way too controlly for me. I think I want to try your slightly more aggressive approach for a change.

I have a couple questions though:

    1. Why did you opt for mana dorks instead of mana fetches like Cultivate and Kodama's reach since you're in green? Those mana dorks are just so much easier to remove, and in a casual format like edh, removing mana dork can be considered collateral damage but removing lands (especially in my play group) is highly frowned upon.

    2. I know you have several pet cards in your list (i.e. Phyrexian drednaught, berserk, timetwister, basically the cards that are tougher to obtain) what would you recommend as substitutions for those?

    Thanks!!

Thanks for the help, I haven't followed any other format for a real long time, I just look for edh decks that could be fun and try to string together pieces.

Thanks for the in depth response, fortunately my playgroup allows proxies, I just wasn't sure if they were one of the exception cards that would hold their value. I really do want to get those cards but I think I can wait for them to rotate out.

I'm new to mtg, and I'm trying to build a EDH morph deck because it's one of my favorite mechanics in the game. With that said, I'm wondering if the prices of Den Protector and Deathmist Raptor will drop in price when the set rotates out, or do you think they hold their values?

    Any answers help!!

Hi guys, I had another question, when you guys use corpse dance, do you guys play with no rearranging of graveyard, therefore forces you to only be able to play with the top card in your graveyard?

The "commander tax" is increased only for every time you "cast" your general from the "command zone", not whenever he is "exiled". Two different zones and you're not casting him, he's just returning to play from exile.

I see thank you for that clarification

Hey guys this is a really noob question, but I am still new to the syndicate, so while I was play testing this deck with a friend, he asked me if ghost council racks up commander death counters from using his ability, since he does exile himself from the game. I didn't know how to answer his question, so I decided to post it here for the more experienced to take a whack at it. I'm pretty sure he doesn't which is why so many people choose to use the council but a clarification would be awesome. thanks guys!!

Hey guys I was thinking of adding the grave pact package, and I was wondering if there were any more to the package than...

    Butcher of malakir
    Grave pact
    Bloodghast
Reassembling skeleton/Nether traitor (not sure which is better, or if i should run both?)
    Martyr's bond (maybe)

NVM I just saw it in the primer.

    @Blackjack
I think my playgroup made those rules, not so much for divinity, but more for like Sorin and felidar sovereign, and cards similar, and everyone would rather stick to those house rules, and prevent any possible gray areas from coming up.

It's funny because I just ask everyone if they were okay with yosei and they didn't have a problem with him, but they didn't want to stray away from the "life rule", haha they're going to learn the power of yosei Smile

Oh and thanks for recommending wurmcoil engine, I love these mini combos that are hard to deal with but not impossible to break Smile

Those house rules seem a bit... asinine. I'd play Sorin Markov just to spite them. (until they artificially nerf him by making a rule changing his ability, too.)

Anyway, Blackjack had actually taken out Divinity of Pride as part of his last large update back in January:

It doesn't sound like people are too satisfied with Sepulchral Primordial at this point after testing him, judging from earlier posts. Could try to make room for the Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood combo and just knock them all out.

Haha they've already made the rule for Sorin Markov already haha, my playgroup is all about having fun for everyone, and that card is just not fair, maybe I'll just cave and run Yosei instead of divinity of pride unless there's another solid replacement.

Is there any replacement for divinity of pride? My playgroup adjusts its ability in accordance to how much life we started with, since edh starts with 40, my life needs to be 50 for it to get +4/+4, and even more for team battles where we start with 100 life, and I feel that this adjustment makes divinity so much weaker.

Win percentage won't be quite as high without infi-combos, but you'll still be able to win a fair amount, and it will be a lot of fun to play. I win a lot of games without ever hitting an infi combo.

also...I'd be tempted to run Abyssal Persecutor. Very fun political card and not a bad beater.

Okay, thanks for all the help!! I'll be sure to follow this thread to stay up to date with all the changes!! Smile I love this deck, awesome job!

Given your case (non-combo), I'd think a little bit of rattlesnake/defensive stuff and lifegain might serve you well. I'd probably try out something like..

Vizkopa is getting ready to go into my decklist. I've been playing around a bit with him, and he's been pretty awesome so far.

    Awesome thanks!!

But honestly without the combo pieces from your list (or any list for that matter), do you think my non-bo deck will still be as successful as a list that does run combos?

What sort of beaters would you recommend to add as replacements?

Funny thing is i have this list almost to the par, and played it countless times, never have i looked for combos or won off infinate. I just do the slow grind of reanimation and etb/ltb triggers till i win. His list is alot sronger if u purposefully look for the combos but i must admit ive never looked for them. unless u count yoseh locking someone a infinate combo..... that i have done just to wrap up a game

How effective is it in multiplayer though, considering much of our removal is spot removal, if we somehow gathered a lot of hate, could this list fend off at least 2 players targeting me at one time?

I'm purposely not packing yosei because I feel that when that cycle starts up, someone(s) around my table get very sad. And I know that in general that's a win con.

With that said, I packing enough win cons?

And am I packing too much recursion at 19 (including emeria)?
