If WotC had guts, they would ban all cards from the reserve list from tournament play, except for pure Vintage. Any other active tournament type should only allow for cards that can be reprinted. Solves loads of problems. Chases some peeps from the game sure, hopefully some speculators too, but those couple of thousand players won't be missed out of those 15 million magic players.
Isn't this what they did when they created Modern. They created a format with no reserve list cards where all cards can be reprinted at any time. How did Modern fair in chasing speculators away from the game?
It's definitely mostly legacy. omniscience is a force to be reckoned with. It just had some very high finishes, and cunning wish and omni are both played in the same deck. It's not coincidence.
I agree. When Ominiscience and Cunning Wish are both increasing, it's hard to attribute that growth to EDH.
I'm confused too. The whole thought that the Legacy format is dead seems to be centered around the absence of posts in Legacy threads. I guess as a collector who cares? I have realized an increase in the price of my collection month after month.
Why is Giant Eagle charging 99 cents for cucumbers? I mean Aldi has them for 25 cents. Can anyone tell me why?
There are many reasons for a price discrepancy. Don't forget, you are comparing a site that forces sellers to have the best price to a single store. How many sellers list cards on TCG?
I ordered a Beta Drain Power and it was shipped without a top loader. There was a piece of cardstock in the envelope, but I am not sure how much protection it offered. The envelope was tapped on the back and the address label on the front made it hard to open. I am glad I did not use scissors.
And to futher note TES doesn't normally run 3-4 copies of Cabal Therapy, I sincerely don't like misleading information to be spread around...TES normally runs a sole copy, I can prove this with several links if need be tomorrow when I get off work (I'll post only top seed places again if need be, only this version is current that could even support your post, the list you must have seen...but hardly less then 10% of the decks I just found run more then 2)
S.M.
I don't claim to be an expect in the difference between TES and ANT, but the last two SCG opens featured ANT decks that run 3-4 Cabal Therapies. Just an observation.
What this has to do with what I said? So, you are ok with all those resellers who don't actually want the cards for play or collection getting this for 40$, right? Those resellers are getting a big summer present from WOTC, and us, the customers, the players, ain't getting ****.
And tell me you know stores don't buy booster boxes for 140$, please. And that Santa doesn't exists.
What are you talking about? Of course stores don't want cards...they sell them to make money. They buy them at X and sell them at Y where Y-X is their profit. Why is this even an issue? Many other retailers do the same thing.
I was going to trade for the cards I wanted, and build a deck out of it, that way I would have to put less money down. If that doesn't work I am prepared to sell to my LGS at 50% less then what the cards are worth thus bringing my profit down to 45 dollars.
If you sell at 50 percent, you lose money. If the cards are worth $264 then at 50 percent they are worth $132 which is less than what you paid for them.
The total grade cannot be more than one-half point higher than the lowest sub grade. This means that cards with a low sub grade can only a slightly higher overall grade because the other sub grades are overachievers.
Most collectors value edges and corners over centering. I value the top edge over the other three edges. If a card has wear along the top edge, I value it less compared to a card with the same wear to the bottom edge.

Seems good to me...go for it.

I think you did pretty well. What's you plan for selling the cards so you can realize your $95 profit?
