Not going to the face has had me pull abrade from time to time. What stopped me from running dredbore is the fact that efficient removal no longer excites me for gold cards. Yes I still run some of them. I won't blame anyone for running this but I loathe to take up guild slots with cards like this. I find it like this will just be a give to the boros drafter or person with ample fixing late in a pack rather than make anyone go into the guild.

I saw hurrah for white getting more taxing tools. The thing I like most is that when this creature is removed the tax stays. It would be even better if they couldn't play the exiled card withouy creatures still being in play but that is probably too good. Seesms real fun with blink, Competes in hte same slot as flickerwisp and displacer and every other 3 drop.

    Very much worth a spin

There are two artifacts left as far as I can tell. Either someone forgot to do their spoiler yesterday or gavin was saving something for one more morning cast. I really hope they have one more surprise left

I think 327 is still open for black timeshifted. After leyline and before read the bones

I think I might cut champion of the parish. I have argued it for long time but white 1 is getting super tough. Outside lions, I have mom and still haven't fit giver of runes in. Thraben inspector is always trying to get in depending on artifact themes and giant killer is going for another spin with me.

    Spoiled for choices.

When I finally pulled the swords from my cube (tired of protection) I really started to think about how many pieces of equipment/vehicles I wanted. I fundamentally think they are great (primarily in aggro). But how many do you want in a deck or in your opening hand? one or two max? How many in the deck maybe 3 max? In a way this reminds me of Fleetwheel cruiser. No random narrow upside but it does slap as a threat, and sits there as a bump for your little aggro guys.

I never liked fleetwheel as just a vehicle or just as a threat but straddling that line was the god part.

I suspect this God feels good as being flexible. However being WW probably kills it for me in my small cube.

    Thanks for this

I think it is fair to note that Agadeeem is triple black, meaning you have to draw 4 black mana sources before playing it. Not a deal breaker by any means but a downside that plays better in black heavy decks, which is why it slides behind the green and white for me. But that is silly because I'm trying all the non blue ones. It has been a while since I wanted to try so many cards.

Oddly enough I might be most excited for the mammoth, as I expect it to see more action than the big flip cards. I have always like playing cards like Rhonas and surrak, this besaty will do well there.

A few cards you are missing for me, but I can't argue this time as the set is deep.

Density of fetches has everything to do with how good this may be

And this is exactly why I believe this card is the bar. The mythics are cool because they can be uptapped but most are so expensive they will impact very few cube games.

This card represents the class down from the mythic. The spell has a decently powerful effect, but the situational nature of it is why it is not played. The better flip cards are later game cards when you know you don't want the land, and this is cheap which is good when you aren't using the land side.

But even if it impresses I doubt it is a long term inclusion because Phyrexian Metamorph and Phantasmal Image are the only clones I play

My black creature sections (1-3 mana) is almost completely turning into recursive creatures and sac outlets. This is good news. I will have to keep an eye on exile effects and graveyard hate being able to keep it in check, but that is a great problem to have. With how much I like scrapheap scrounger /woe strider this is an easy choice.

Little sad about not being a zombie, but that is a nit pick. Probably have to say goodbye to Grevyard Marshall, who is very good in a similar way but I often don't have creatures I want to exile since I have other ways to get them back.

To me this card is the real teat. A powerful card for a reasonable mana cost, that is situational bad/excellent. But I like it more than the combat trick ones because you get to sculpt a plan with it. They effect is also usually better late, when you dont need land. So if excellent i may try more flip catds

This set is pretty overwhelming for 360 cubes for sure. I'm kind of tempted to let the dust settle a bit and see some results from other people before making huge amounts of changes.

I of where I am at. I will be cracking a box of collectors boosters and just play around with whatever is in there. For sure I will pursue the Naya colored mythic flip cards and do a bit of wait and see. We are getting so much turnover now I am less likely to jump on my full list right away. Certain cards like Shark Typhoon stand out enough for me to invest in foil alt art (many of the flip lands are on that list) but even at 360, I might have a list of 15-20 I am excited about. I think I will wait for the full spoiler to really think this through.

My point was not to compare the two in power level. My point was to have a real discussion about how this is gonna get played as we all get to run it practically for free.

I get the how good the mechanic is, I just feel like the use cases are different from the red and green. Maybe not enough to not run some of these but it certainly is relevant on when you pick these in drafts and what you try to do with them. Most likely I will find room for all of these except the blue one, but black will be hard to find a cut for.

Seeing this compared to Gruesome Menagerie as a negative is just ...painful. My head hurts. That comparison is the same as looking at Rolling Thunder as a reason why the red mythic MDFC must be bad ...while completely ignoring the entire reason the card is good, lol. Oh well. Facepalm

I have no problem playing devils advocate. And rolling thunder is a sweet devidable burn spell. Any red deck wants that stapled to a land. Only some black decks want this, even fewer make really good use of this. But yeah it’s free

Ok I like this but we have had gruesome menagerie for a while and I think people are a little overheated on this. Yes, 1 more mana become an x spell can make it better (triple black is tough), and of course I understand that this is awesome has being the back side of a land. But the decks this goes in is the same a GM. Aggro/cheap value/'crats.

So for me this is probably 3rd/4th best with the white one. A little narrow but can b e backbreaking late game, slightly more inconsistent that the white. think I like the castle and stornghold more as utility black lands.
