  • posted a message on Esper Aggro, some testing, needs a little help
Ok this is my block deck I've been working on. I haven't tested to much in block but I have played against a couple janky standard decks and it has been doing well. So any suggestions would be welcome.

Ok I don't know if my mana base is 100% good, and I need a replacement for Obelisk... thats just a joke lol. I was thinking relic, but I'm not sure that would mess with me more. Maybe Martial Coup, but once again that is almost counter-productive, maybe not. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

I've seen someone lose to the 0/3 guy... literally. The atached bone saw to it and swung for the win. I was amazed.

  • posted a message on Esper deck, needs tweaks
Ok so, I figure esper is gonna be awesome once conflux comes out, but I am trying to make a basis for it right now and it's not working very well.

Basically the deck is control. I know it needs tweaks so here are some things I was thinking.

Master of Etherium needs to go I think. He's been underwhelming in the games I played with him. I mean hes helped, but not much more then a help.

Sculler is really good hand disruption for a few turns. Tends to get dealt with fast, but they use cards on it, and if you take the right cards it makes it more annoying.

Strix is really good. It makes the opponents have to think more when they want to attack. Usually just sit it there to force opponents to make bad decisions or waste cards on it.

Tower is the win condition basically. Flying, good costed, nice damage. Obviously a good beater, plus its black.

Capsule is to draw cards. No executioners cause I figure there will be a lot of black creatures and its a dead card if theres a lot of black.

Warp is obvious, can be a 2 for 1.

Punish Ignorance is quite useful. 6 point life Swing and counter a spell.

O-ring once again obvious, deals with just about everything.

Excomunicate slows the opponent down, and deals with a creature they just played.

Esper Charm is for card draw and for destroying O-Rings basically.

So any suggestions?? This is just a basis before Conflux. I know I might need to change stuff around then, but I would like a good base. Thanks guys. Smile

Ok so I try to connect to my friend and it won't let me, so I figure I would just connect to the general room thing and it just says cannot connect. I look around for a while and it says to see if the server is down, well I check and its not. I can't figure out whats wrong. My bro can connect on his computer but I can't on mine. It doesn't even try to load it just says cannot connect. Any help would be appreciated.

The thing with Collosus is whenever I play him I tend to win the next turn if they don't deal with it. I understand why I would want to put imperious but I see Collosus as being the harder thing to deal with. Especially as it usually comes in as a 5/5 trampler. Like I've said I've tried it with Perfects but in the end I found it to be the subpar card compared to most others.

Also I know I should put some treetops but when I tried with it, it actually slowed my deck down. I can usually keep an opening hand of 1 land, but if I had only a treetop... I couldn't. I usually tap all my mana every turn and treetop would only help late game for me. I mean do you really think the deck can afford to have 4 in here?? I don't want to slow it down to much.

As for llanowar elves. I could see putting them in, and I've even thought about it, but I don't want to clutter my 1cc to much. I mean dropping a nettle or twinblade is my an amazing turn 1 drop for me. It already puts pressure on and I usually have at least 1 more thing coming next turn. Do you really think I need them where 4cc is my most expensive card??

I don't see a reason to put deity or oversoul in here. Its to expensive to me, and I aim to win before I would have a chance to attack with then usually.

As for removal I don't see why I would need more. This deck usually wins in the creature race, and Lignify would hurt me more then help. Most of my guys can't get through the 4 toughness barrier without help. I usually hold the snakeform for there win conditions anyway.

As for Toast I tend to try to keep pressure on fast and I usually side in a couple of shushers so they can't counter everything. Snakeform helps against there win conditions also. As does Garruk.

  • posted a message on Mono G Aggro for states, a different build.
Ok so this is my build of mono green aggro. I don't expect it to do amazing in states but I want to see how well my deck does. I know it could use some tweaks and help with that is appreciated but mostly I am looking for a solid sideboard and how to side against different deck types. So here is the deck

Ok for a short explanation on the choice of spells and such.

First I didn't include Imperious Perfect because I needed a few extra slots and at 3cc it was the harder thing to cast. I mean it runs well in the deck but I wanted a little more room for some spells.

2nd Manamorphose is in here for 2 reasons, it helps get Talara's out, plus it powers through my deck a little. I mean I could replace it with other stuff but it helps me get to other cards I need and makes it feel like a 56 card deck instead.

3rd Tower Above actually works really really well. I mean the sorcery speed to it hurts a lot, but if it does go off 100% it hurts really badly. even throwing it on a 2/2 makes it a 6/6 trampler wither, kill 1 untapped creature and if its the only one of the biggest one it lets me attack with my other guys with less worry. I am thinking of putting another 1 in but I don't know what I would drop for it.

Thanks for your opinions and I hope to do well tommorow.

Ok so I take out the creatures, I add 3 cryptic and 2 o-ring, that would leave enough for the lands no prob. I'm just worried because blue was a smaller part now its very dependent.

Actually I think snakeform would be the better choice over o-ring. I mean I'm not 100% how it will work, and I'm gonna start testing it soon. I will see how it goes after that.

Ok, what do you suggest I take out for the control cards?? I mean I'm sure I have some stuff in here thats pointless. Prob the exalted enchantments, but anything else??

I see what your deck is trying to accomplish but it seems like it has a lot lot of control aspects to it at all times, where mine is just a little late game control. I don't know if my deck needs the control your deck has, but I won't know till I test it out.

  • posted a message on Bant agrro control
Ok so this is my idea for a Bant deck. It uses exalted but not as much as a lot of exalted decks.

The idea of the deck is to have some early beats but also have late game control. The finishers would be the infiltrator or the Troll. Combined with exalted and Rafiq or Battlegrace is a deadly combo. It's even better with the Warhammer on them. The deck is definitly more white/green with a blue splash for some of the bigger cards.

I think I need it tweaked a little though. And I can't figure out a good mana base. Any help would be apreciated.

  • posted a message on Rafiq is good? How so?
My deck idea uses an ok amount of exalted guys combined with cards that are hard to deal with/have good avoidance. I plan to use Jhessian infiltrator, Troll Ascetic and Loxodon Warhammer to push through with the guys I am attacking with. On top of that I use Stoic Angel, the bant enchantment, and Battlegrace angel for exalted, and more controly aspects. Rafiq is a good finisher combined with unblockable though. And you really only need 3 to 4 creatures on the board at a time, especially with the Bant enchantment.

And its not like you have to attack alone all the time, if its smarter to swing out, you should do it. A lot of people get the misconception that Bant shouldn't do that. I mean if they have 1 creature and you have 4, the obvious choice would to be swing out in most situations. It just depends on what needs to be done.

For my deck Blue and Green are mostly the minor colors, helping to pay some creature costs for the most part. I mean I'm not 100% how my deck will work, but almost nothing in my deck costs more then 5 mana, and I wanna see how it works, I just need to finalize my deck list. But it definitely looks fun, lets just see how it plays out.

There are plenty of guys you can use for exalted, take the 2/2 unblockable guy. And he's in Bant's colors also. It's not like there is no evasion for exalted. It's not like every creature you run has to have exlated on it. Plus the enchantment helps a lot also. Tapping a creature while attacking is good so you have more choice over who is blocking you anyway. And then Loxodon warhammer works really well with exalted anyway. It's not like there is no way around it. And most of the solutions are viable I would say.

    Card name is Magma Spray??

    Magma Spray - R

Deal 2 damage to target creature, it can't be regenerated. If it would be put to graveyard this turn, remove it from the game instead.

    BG

    Enchantment - Uncommon

2: Remove a card in a graveyard from the game and put a 1/1 saprloing into play.

    Is that it??
