Manamorphose doesn't do that at all, it draws a card, and helps play battalion on turn 2. Whenever I have it in my hand its usually a good thing rather then a bad.

Ok so I am running a mono green aggro deck for when eventide comes out. I've tried it a bit and it does really well against some decks, and on the play I tend to win a lot. So here it is, what do you think.

Ok so here are some thing behind it. I am only doing forests because everything else is a little slower. Even mutavaults can slow this deck down, which sounds dumb, but I would rather have mana open to pump twinblade, or put down more creatures.

Creature choice is a bit obvious in most aspects, I was going for an as fast as possible build obviously. Viper is there to either deal with threats, or draw cards, both of which are useful.

And as for spells, there is a small amount but they all add something. Primal command might be better sideboard though, but if I don't win fast enough it can get me a creature I need and another beneficial ability. Snakeform tends to be a 2 for 1, and manamorphose is amazing in this deck.

Any thoughts?? I like how it works out and it beats a lot of deck pretty consistently, but I wouldn't mind sideboarding Primal Commands.

Ok this is basically the second round of the contest. The card picked for the first round was Auratouched Mage

So here are the rules for the decks.

1: Decks have to be based around, or heavily influenced around the said card. If I feel its not its not qualified.

2: Even though its casual I don't want you to use banned cards or more then 1 of each restricted card. Other then that every set is legal, even unglued and unhinged.

3: I don't completely care how good the deck is, I mean yeah better decks are gonna be more favorable, but I want to see better interactions with the said card.

4: I will be doing a point based system.

You get 1 point for submiting a decklist, and an extra 1 if it follows all of the criteria.

You get 5 points for being picked as a finalist (If I decide to do that, depends on how many people input decklists).

You get 5 points for getting picked as the best deck.

The card chosen for this week is Head Games

    Points are as follows.

    Blutsau: 7
    Parabola01: 4
    No Name Maddox: 4
    Eldros: 2
    Shoe: 2
    Willoe: 2

Yes you are, you get to help vote on what deck you want to win. We will try to get a general consensus on which deck wins though. Congrats on winning and I can't wait to see the new decks Smile

My vote is for Blutsau, I love how he makes his deck based around using the Mage to get removal spells out to move them onto opponents creatures. It's a very interesting idea to work around.

2nd place is a tie for me. Eldros and Parabola01. They both have interesting ideas, where Eldros based it off a wizard deck while Parabola made a very fun infinite combo. I love both decks as they are both exactly what I was looking for in this contest.

Shoe and Maddox have really good decks also, but not exactly what I was looking for. Shoe's deck is what I was kinda expecting a lot of people to base the deck around where Maddox has a very interesting budget deck that I liked but it didn't use the card in a very innovative way.

Good job to everyone, the winner is Blutsau for this round. He will have till midnight Sunday to get me his choice for the card in. I will make a new post with his card or a card chosen by me if he doesn't get the card in.

The post will be labled - Contest: "Card name"

Yeah I understand, it will be more structured when we get more people. For now though getting the results in on Saturday gives the winner a day or two to get me the card and follows at least some sort of structure. And at least next time we will have 3 judges which will make it more fair.

I don't want an elf deck, I want an aggro deck. Just because there are elves in it, doesn't mean it's gonna be elves. Wren's run might be good, but I don't know if its good enough for an agro deck. I mean I already have better 2 drops with Goyf and Talara. Wilt Leaf Cavalier might be good but I don't know how useful it will be in aggro, and Groundbreaker / Finks would probably be a better 3 drop. My four drop is Garruk hopefully, but the liege might work. It does boost my other creatures, but that doesn't mean it will be amazing in aggro. I was thinking maybe Harmonize to help keep up tempo after I lay a ton of creatures down.

I was thinking Tattermunge, but I already have 2 one drops, I didn't know if another would work. Barkshell blessing would work well. Resize would be nice because I would lose creatures a lot and I could get it back. Would Fistful be good because I don't have many high costed things. And Squall line would be good side board or main, and Cloudthresher is an obvious choice that I forgot.

    What about Kitchen Finks??

Ok so I want to make a mono green aggro deck thats competitive. My thoughts so far are.

    Tarmogoyf
    Garruk Wildspeaker
    Talara's Battalion
    Nettle Sentinel
    Twinblade Slasher
    Snakeform
    Mutavault
    Primal Command

    Sideboard would have firespout

Any suggestions what else. It looks like a solid deck and can win fast. I was thinking of putting like llanowar elves in but it kinda doesn't make for an aggro deck... I mean I could put Groundbreaker in also, and it seems like a viable card. Any suggestions??

Well I know one person will do it, but the other one might not be able to, because he is gonna be away for a while with no internet so it looks like its only us 2 right now. I would like 1 more at least because 2 is not enough, and I was hoping for more but none of my friends got back to me...

I know it will be interesting to see how everything works, and I would rather keep it on a 1 week schedule but move it to 2 if we get more people. About that, I would want to start the new contest every Monday so if the person doesn't submit a card by late Sunday or early Monday, then I will pick the card again I guess. But I will definitely get results in on Sunday so it gives the winner a day to get to me what card they want. I mean I could post the results on Sat to give the winner 2 days, but I don't know if I want it to be that short.
