I prefer Tariel because I don't like Oros ability at all.
About two weeks ago I finished building a Tariel Budget Deck for my friend.
My thoughts/strategies with Tariel were:
- Using Opponents GY against them. To reduce the randomness I did include some GY-hate (Nezumi Graverobber & Co.)
- To make use of the own GY I did include stuff like Phyrexian Reclamation, Volrath's Stronghold and all kind of reanimator-support wich I could get for cheap. The all foil premium deck Graveborn helped a lot.
- I like punishing people for killing my creaures so I added Grave Pact, Butcher of Malakir. Those are so nice if you have lot's of sac. outlets like Dread Return for example.
I added Grave Betrayal as well just for fun. It's extremely strong when you use board sweepers...
Some fact's about the Deck:
- Black is the "main-colour". I have some cards that need 3 Black Mana.
- It's playable in 1v1 and Multiplayer
- It's fun and full stuffed with lot's of interactions.
- It's not for competitive players wich like to win as fast as possible no matter what cost etc.
- If you're sick of building Kaalia but like the colours it's definitely cool
You can PM me if you're interested in a full Decklist.
Have fun what ever you choose
Cheers!

Galspanic posted a message on [[MCD]] Oros vs TarielOros all the way. The deck should function on its own without needing the general (Punisher decks are a complete package, right) and the general zone should be seen as a spot to fill any gaps you may have. What back up plan do you want?Posted in: Commander (EDH)
1 - a little evasive Sword carrier?
2 - a sizable evasive semi effective Wrath?
3 - a defensive evasive random reanimator?
I like have a board wipe in the command zone. The other two aren't really that important to your game plan and in a Punisher deck you should have damage doublers and stuff like that to make it even more effective. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

They should just bring back the tuck rule. It's like RC went out of their way to hate on blue's only viable method for removing generals from the equation. That and reintroduce the "banned as commander" sub-category. I could see some planeswalker-generals being absurdly powerful in the command zone, but fairly tame in the 99. Tezzeret the Seeker comes to mind.

Guys.
Marrow-Gnawer rat tribal is awesome and I think, compared to things like wizards, elves, goblins etc. it's underrated.
But if you build it with 20+ Relentless Rats, we're no longer friends. : P

I'm not gonna lie. This forum is totally the reason I decided to make a stax deck.
I regret nothing.

Trinisphere can also be highly disruptive. Meddling Mage can say "No" to a combo piece. Sadistic Sacrament and Jester's Cap plucks their combo pieces from their library.
Counters can also help out. Declaration of Naught, naming a key combo piece is funny. Are one of their combos pieces an artifact/enchantment? Annul can be hilarious. What's your budget like? Pact of Negation and Force of Will are a strong bulwark against this sort of thing.
Are you willing to dive into stax as a possible strategy? Smokestack and associated land destruction can be a good counter to combo shenanigans. They can't go infinite if they don't have mana to cast.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
*Edit Oh! Split second is a big "screw you" to combo. Krosan Grip and Sudden Death in particular come to mind.

-Looks at EDH decks-
-Blushes awkwardly-
I think personally, the kind of deck doesn't bother me as much as the kind of player. What I mean is, I don't mind losing to an oppressive stax deck. I mind losing to an oppressive stax deck because the other people at the table played like idiots. Great example: the table once lost to a T6 Frost Titan because the guy playing BG was like "GRRR I just hate blue SO MUCH" and didn't want to wait like 1 turn for the land drop before popping his Pernicious Deed. So I had to sit there getting my stuff locked down because that guy was being a moron.
If the lockdown guy locked us all down because he outplayed us and just had better drops, hands up, fair enough. GG. G2? But if the lockdown guy wins because nobody else at the table understands what the phrase "threat assessment" means, well, **** all of you.

Such as? It seems like where furry art draws the line appears fairly bottomless.

Much of my art does involve "animal people," so people have labelled me a furry. I think to a layman, being in my position is enough to at least be peripherally in the subculture. I don't personally consider myself a furry because beyond my artwork, I don't really subscribe to the subculture at all, but at this point I'm not really bothered if that's what people think. I do have friends who are furries, some of which I have met through sharing my artwork online.
I do think that there are a contingency of people in this subculture who are generally unpleasant to be around, be it strange sexual fetishes or identifying as some sort of animal. As someone else mentioned, there's also the whole social awkwardness element to it as well. Certainly it's understandable that people have an aversion to this sort of strange behavior, as am I. However, I think like most groups, uncharitable assumptions are often made from the most extreme behavior in that group. It's not just subculture reactionaries who do this. Ideological groups, political parties etc. have a bad habit of "othering" based on the most inappropriate behavior of their detractors. Must be a survival instinct or something. *shrug* There's also the element of furries just kind of being an easy target for mockery. Certainly internet culture helps fan the flames of negative stereotypes.
I can only really speak to my personal experience, but the furries I've met are generally nice, approachable people. I think if people would get past the barrier of their interests, they might realize furries are like most anyone else. Ultimately, if they're not hurting anyone, I don't really care.
