Quote from MockingbirdIf you want, you can splash in land destruction to get maximum hatred with Teneb. Let me give an example of what someone did to me.
My opponent Mortify-ed my Primeval Titan. Then revived it with Teneb. They didn't trigger the land searched though because he then Armageddoned... I scooped.
I am testing Cataclysm to see if it's a viable win condition in conjunction with most of the fatties in my deck.
I'm still keeping Acquire though because, unlike Bribery, most decks run some sort of mana rocks (almost always Sol Ring at the very least,) and other value artifacts that I might want. I think the odds of getting a useful artifact is better than the odds of getting a useful/game winning creature. Not to mention I can always grab artifact creatures.
It really just depends.
They should just bring back the tuck rule. It's like RC went out of their way to hate on blue's only viable method for removing generals from the equation. That and reintroduce the "banned as commander" sub-category. I could see some planeswalker-generals being absurdly powerful in the command zone, but fairly tame in the 99. Tezzeret the Seeker comes to mind.
Not to mention it makes clerics so, you know...fits the theme.
Yeah, I think that's what sells me on the card. It's all of the things I'm looking for: a mana source, token production, and a finisher. I mostly compared it to Dark Depths, because of the whole "dump a resource into this land: get a big beatstick" feature. The fact that it taps for mana is especially relevant in my deck, since it only runs 35 lands. I feel like most of the time, having Dark Depths out in that deck would be like hobbling around with a twisted ankle. Oh sure, you'll still get to where you're going....eventually.
Reverse side: Ormendahl, Profane Prince
What does everyone think about this card? I've been considering it for my stax deck as a possible token producer/finisher. The token production seems expensive, but I could picture it being a decent EOT mana dump if I don't have anything better to do. The flip side gives some strong lifegain and the deck sometimes does some severe bloodletting to get things online.
Some downsides I've noticed are the cost of token production, Ormendahl can still be exiled/bounced and lands blowing up is a thing that happens with relative frequency when I play this deck.
I guess I also want to pick people's brains about this card in a more general sense. Could you see it being viable in any other decks? I find this card quite interesting and I'm digging the art. It kind of reminds me a bit of Dark Depths, though the upshot is that it taps for mana.
Discuss.
*Edit Further playtesting has yeilded some interesting results. It seems that things are still pretty stable, but I just have to be smarter about what I'm dropping when. There seems to be a stronger emphasis on mana doublers. Not sure how I feel about that, but the deck is still hella aggressive.
*EditEdit Lol I'm one card short. Adding Sad Robot.
Will look into finding a slot for Sad Robot.
I already have Markov Blademaster in my list. She's pretty baller.
I have Wardriver in my list mostly because he's cheap and offers a pretty decent effect for his cost. Paragon of Fierce Defiance is mostly there for his anthem effect and that he himself gets pumped my other things in the deck (including Lovisa.)
I would be okay with cutting Brighthearth Banneret and Kazuul though. Your criticism of not wanting to attack with these creatures is especially relevant to Banneret, who doesn't even meaningfully improve my ability to play spells.
Scab-Clan Berserker seems good. What do you think of Atarka Pummeler in place of Kazuul?
Done.
I like them. Not sure if I would run them, since my only recovery from board wipes is not overextending, but if I did, I'd probably go with Perilous Vault, since it exiles, and that's not something red is usually good at. From playtesting, I get to 8-9 mana pretty easily, so I could likely cast and then pop it right away.
Special shoutout to Airithne for helping me refine my pile of cards into a playable list. Thanks!

I wanted to make a slightly different build by adding a disruption package. Cards like Price of Glory and Blood Moon are particularly strong in my meta, since multicolor is prevalent and people like doing things EOT.
(Also, I'm aware of the interaction of Aggravated Assault + Sword of Feast and Famine, but I don't think in most circumstances I would explicitly try to get that online and the deck certainly isn't built around doing so. It's there to satiate my crippling need for an infinite combo lol.)
As always, feedback is much appreciated.
Both seem very strong in a Leovold lockdown/stax-style deck and both cost under $1.
