The deck still needs a side, it does well against agro, Twins, and Infect. The coutcomes can be hit or miss against, Tron decks. If the opponent gets a larg threat on the board, it can be hard to remove the threat. Often your best option against large threats is to copy them with Phyrexian Metamorph. Maybe a card like Dreadbore, or Terminate would be good side agains large agro matches. I would like to know what people's thoughts are about the side and how this deck could fit into the current meta.
Because Mishra even searches the graveyard, shouldn't 3-ofs probably the be the prime number of cards? On your first cast, you fetch another copy. Then, if they both get destroyed, you still have that third copy in your deck to make a huge comeback. I think Wurmcoils will have to be a huge part of this deck. That lifelink alone is crucial for coming back against Burn but we've also seen how tough these guys are in Tron.
In my play test I found three to be a magic number for wurmcoil engine and phyrexian metamorph, for the very reason you stated. Also, in agro matchup wurmcoil was a game changer. Even if all three copy's go to the grave, academy ruins let's you pull everything back out. If we could find another way to pull cards out of the grave yard this deck could be hard to stop.
Spell Pierce to protect your cornerstone creatures, namely Grand Architect and Mishra. This deck absolutely struggles without being able to resolve and untap with either
I also had a chance to test the deck I posted, and found a lot of the same things you did. Tezz did not have as strong an impact as I had hoped, and the Ugin's combo is to hard to set up. Without the Ugin's Nexus combo, I see no need for Arcbound Ravager, and am looking for something else in that slot.
my version of the deck has lodestone golems instead of mishra. I added 4 cavern of souls as Mishra and GA are both Artificers.
Heartless Summoning is a card I had considered, and there is an interesting combo with Myr Retriever that can let you pull all your artifacts out of your grave yard. Also, with a grape shot you can go infinite on damage. I didn't think the Myr Retriever combo fit into this deck, but maybe you all can make better use of the combo than I can.
Lodestone Golem could also be a great card for this deck, and one I had not considered. I could see a player getting two of them in play on turn four and really messing up their opponent's day.
This is a deck that I am already playing at modern events, and am doing pretty well with. I am looking to get some help improving the over all build, and I need major help with the sideboard.
With the right conditions this deck can put a large amount of damage on turns three and four, and even swing for 22 damage on the third turn, most games don't last longer than turn five. This deck is super aggressive, and leaves almost nothing for defensive plays. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben does a lot to slow down most modern decks, and only slows this deck down a little. Over all I find the deck to be pretty solid but I am looking to get better consistency out of the high damage yields, even if the means adding a third color. However, I am in opposition to anything that slows down the deck.
The deck does well against Living End, Tron, Jund, and Twins. It has trouble with Pod, Affinity, and Infect. I have no good way to break up pod's combos or to slow it down. Unless I get a great draw, I will lose against pod. Infect, goes 50/50, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben does a lot of work, but some times its not enough, I need some good sideboard for Infect. I have never won against Affinity, I don't have good block for a lot of the creatures, and the deck is just as fast as mine.
I was thinking about trying Chalice Of the Void in the side because it works against Infect and Affinity so well. I don't know the sideboard is where I need the most help, and suggestion would be a big help
Lastly here are some other iterations of this deck I have played
This is my build for the deck I went with a kind of Esper tempo/control, most of these spells should be damn near useless to my opponent once Shared Fate hits the table.
Think Twice is a fantastic card because if your opponent cast it you can play it out of your grave yard.
Path to Exile puts land from your deck into play pulling out land your opponent could use against you.
For the same Reason I like Path to Exile is way I don't like Marsh Flats. When your opponent gets one he can pull land out of his deck he could use.
Notion Thief; with all the card draw you are going to want to pack in this deck, resolving this card before the Shared Fate makes your deck useless to your opponent
I would think if you packed the deck full of draw spells and used Notion Thief you could almost shut you opponent out of the game. With Notion Thief in play all the draw spells in you deck that they play gets you cards. You can also use discard spell because the cards you are casting are in exile.
I want to build a deck that lets me use my opponents deck against him, but I'm not sure how to build the deck. I am thinking grixis would be the best colors because of all the clone and spell copy effects in those colors. I am looking for suggestions on cards and builds.
My girlfriend is an L1 judge and is getting ready to take here L2 test. I have offered to help her study for her test, being a good boyfriend, but have a comparative lack of game knowledge. I would like to ask the community to post chalanging judge question and the answers.
Fiend Hunter and Cloudshift
when you play the Fiend Hunter play cloudshift in response to the trigger and you can exile two creature, and the first one is gone for good.
Vigilante Justice, 2X Fiend Hunter and Restoration Angel
Have one Fiend Hunter Target the other, then play Restoration Angel to bounce the active hunter. The other Hunter comes into play and exiles the Angel, then the first Hunter comes back into play targeting the second. Rinse and repeat.
Here is some food for thought. Player turns over temporal mastery, I counter the spell and then cast reverberate. Am I correct that the temporal master is copied then countered, such that I would get two turns after his?
