I've received some foil standard mythics around $40 each. Otherwise it's been pretty quiet, including not receiving EMN rares and other stuff on my list.

I haven't sent any cards since future site either, since I can't figure out how to do so and the graphics make it impossible to send the way I used to (scanning the list to see what I wanted to mail out that day). Also, why bother sending cards when I can't receive Temples and Elder Deep Fiends when I had 20000 points anyway?

It's sad too since I consider(ed?) myself a power user, and have traded $8000 both sending and receiving and am a gold member.

I have a couple thousand tix (approx 2400), and looking for the best rate net of fees. MTGOTraders is my standby (and currently at 0.95), and Cardhoarder is also 0.95. Anything else better at the moment (only traditional dealers....do not want individuals)

Academy ruins is $30 now on SCG.

    Wow!

What other spikes are people seeing? Krark-Clan Ironworks foils seem to be drying up, as well as the regular non-foils I think. What else is everyone noticing?

Thanks for mentioning Krark-Clan Ironworks. I just picked up a playset. I've been thinking of brewing with the new artifact clues and KCI converts those to 2 mana nicely. Glad I got them before their price skyrockets.

Krark Clan Ironworks is a mirror breaker in Tezzeret Mirrors as it produces infinite tokens and gains infinite life with a Sword of the Meek and a Thopter Foundry on the table.

I noticed the price drop on the Eye, too, but I've been saying for awhile that I don't think the Eye is going to get banned. It'll be the Temple instead. Apparently, Seth Manfield agrees with me.

I wonder if the price will rebound once the bans come out and the Eye is safe?

Sam Black seems to think that it will be Eye that gets the axe, because it causes greater variance (chance of multi-Mimic opening hands and chance of multiple Eye draws being dead) and because it is restricted solely to Eldrazi. Temple sticking around opens up the possibility of "splashing" TKS/Smasher into an existing colored shell.

But either way, we're going to see one of the two get banned (if not both, or the remote possibility of multiple Eldrazi creatures going instead), and it's going to hurt Eye's price either way.

I agree with you--Eye seems more degenerate in early turns because it can generate 4+mana on early turns, AND it creates inevitability be being able to search in the late game.

Still a bunch of copies of Oubliette on ebay at reasonable prices if you need the card.
I'm curious what your definition of reasonable is. They could be had for $10-$12 recently and now the cheapest BIN is $24.

When I posted there were a number of copies on ebay for <$15 a copy. If you look at the completed listings from yesterday, there are a number that were sold under that price point, and I suspect some of the others changed their BIN price.

I also personally purchased a playset for $13/each at a non-ebay site yesterday after my post when I thought about it.

Also, there are a couple listed currently 2 for $35 right now.

I think it's a good spec on Pauper, as it is great in mono black control to deal with big threats and provide devotion for Gray Merchant of Asphodel

Holy smokes! Adarkar Wastes just shot through the roof. Traditionally a card that's under $2 just shot over $15 a pop! Despite 6 reprints. U/W Eldrazi is the culprit!

You know, given this recent uptick, I'm a little surprised this card hasn't seen a bit more love too, considering it's often every bit as good as Wastes and sometimes, a lot better.

It's also uniquely available in Modern to WU and no other color pairs.

It's also never been reprinted and pre-Mythic.. How Suspicious...

You can't find Nimbus Maze off of Ghost Quarter or Path to Exile though.

I agree that Nimbus Maze is a powerful card however, and it also has great art.

I have a bad habit of trading down, but Puca has still been good to me:

You have sent 433 cards with a total value of 453,089 PucaPoints and you have received 1343 cards from other members with a total value of 452,735 PucaPoints.

I've gotten playsets of Mox Opal, Karn, 2 Lilianas, a Taiga, a few Vendilion Cliques, Cryptic Commands, Flip Jaces, Stoneforge Mystics, Fetches both old and new, Eye of Ugins, a million envelopes of 20 cent Pauper cards, some fancy basic lands, etc.

I've also shipped out tons of valuable cards -- fetches, Shocklands, Mox Opals, Snapcasters, the Dark Blood Moons, Dark Confidants, etc.

For all the bad things on Puca, I'm still super happy to send my cards to other players who want them instead of buylists. I've shipped out more cards there than I ever did before--and I've gotten back plenty. Both my eBay commissions and TCGPlayer purchases have gone down since I joined last March, and my collection has become leaner and more fun as I have been able to shed good cards at reasonable value and get back what I needed to build decks (Legacy Jeskai Delver, Modern Affinity, Modern GR Tron, Modern Living End, Modern Restore Balance, Pauper mono Black Control, Pauper Affinity, Pauper Fiend, Pauper Jeskai, and parts of lots of other decks). Sometimes I have offered bounties to get what I want, but honestly that's no big deal.

Plus, no one has mentioned the best part of Pucatrade--opening your mailbox to envelopes full of magic cards ALL THE TIME.

The big retailers do not box map. CFB/SCG/T&T etc. definitely do not care about mapping booster packs. I would only worry about buying mapped boosters basically when buying loose boosters from sellers on TCG Player or especially eBay.

If you want value, buying the most recent set seems to be your best bet, and it will give you cards that will stay in standard the longest. KTK is likely to have the best long term value because of fetchlands, however for a casual player, I would stick with Oath, as that will maintain its value well while the cards are in standard, and you should be able to pick up fetches for a discount after rotation (for awhile anyway).

Retribution of the Meek is on Reserved List too--that doesn't hurt.

Such a shame, too. This card is would be such a no-brainer for reprint in a set like SOI. Flavor home run and would provide another potential piece of hate for Eldrazi matchups.

It could always be reprinted as a Day of Judgment version--destroy, but with no regeneration clause.

Bury is decent, destroy would be bad. For 3 Mana maybe. I'd rather just see a DoJ reprint at 4 mana.

    That wouldn't help modern any...

Pucatrade announced that they'd deduct the price difference from the sender and credit the recipient if people tried to back out of trades that spiked at the pro tour:

    https://pucatrade.com/blog/2016/pro_tour_oath_of_the_gatewatch

If someone pulled this on you, you should be able to get credit for the difference.

This is actually pretty scary, combined with signup points, etc. PucaInflation is a real concern. They are essentially printing money but have no money sinks -- the points stay in the system forever.

That's not printing money--they take the points from the sender who cancels.

Also there are money sinks--people who stop using the service with points still in their account.

If someone agrees to send and the price moves before they send, how do you guys handle them cancelling the trade?

I had a number of Oath trades initiated Saturday that requested to cancel when the price changed on the cards that did well at the PT

If they agreed to send, they are obligated to do so. If you choose to let them off the hook, that's your prerogative.

This is correct. It's against the rules of Pucatrade to cancel a trade due to a price change.

Obviously it's easy to get around this by making up some other excuse, such as their inventory being inaccurate with their actual collection, but if they actually told you it was because of price then they're dead to rights and have to send.

It seems like there are a lot of inventory issues with cards which did well at the pro tour.

I trade a fair bit on Pucatrade (over $4000 sent/received), and these inventory issues seem to crop up whenever there is a price change and no other time.

The eldrazi deck at the pro tour is doing very well with 4x Chalice of the Void and 4x Simian Spirit Guide to play on turn 1.
