Foil Gods. Both Karametra and Kruphix have been steadilöy climbing, Keranos's price is due to Modern play but lot of dealers and speculators are picking these up. If you need some, now is the time to get them.
Is it just me or did foil Keranos, God of Storms double over the last week? It had been hovering around $45 and now I see very few listed anywhere, and where it is available, it has min BIN or TCG in the $100+ range.
If he hits $30, probably a good idea to pick them up.
I'm seeing people targeting this at a buy at $30 or $35, but what reason does anyone have to think this won't drop further (for at least a short time) following rotation, probably down to the $15-$20 range? LotV, Mox Opal, Voice - all dropped down in to that range at least for a bit at the end of their time in standard. If Jace is a 3.9 of in 21% of standard decks, that's waaaaaaaaaaaay more demand and utilization than 3.6 in 4.57% of modern, and when you take in to account the number of standard players vs. modern players, supply should far outpace demand upon rotation.
How far miscut do you need to get to start seeing a big multiplier? We had a Modern Masters draft where a number of miscut rares were opened. Unfortunately the Fulminator Mage isn't miscut as much as the sphinx. What kind of value would these have? Much of any and are these miscut enough to be desirable by people?
This is true. However, all packs in a box will come with an even distribution. No one knows if the two groups of packs in fat packs are from the same run or not since one has to have a dice added to it, which is why you can see overlap somewhat frequently.
Boxes have no even distribution. That's why you get some boxes with 2 mythics and some boxes with 8 mythics. You can get repeat mythics in boxes, however unlikely.
The one match I lost was to a fast humans deck where I didn't pull a sweeper in the first five turns in the two games I lost (still figuring out where to mulligan). I did beat Rakdos and junk reanimator decks along the way.
What I like about bonfire and Thundermaw in this package is the ability to sweep and do damage at the same time. In one of the games against reanimator my opponent had a pile of lingering souls tokens he was using to chump my Angel of Serenity and a topdeck Thundermaw cleared them out of the way to allow me to swing in for 10. In another game against the same opponent a topdecked Bonfire for 7 cleared out Griselbrand, dealt 7 to the dome, and cleared the way for my 4/4 Angels to finish him off.
The tradeoff here is obviously at the counters. I definitely see where they can have value but I really enjoy how this deck plays. I'm looking to obtain a couple of Jace's and would probably put them in place of Tamiyo. I also need to work on the mana base a bit, definitely adding in 4 Sulfur Falls and possibly going with a full set of Glacial Fortress as well. Has anyone else tried more of a RWu deck than a WUr one?
I see now the major stores like Starcity or Channelfireball have increased their preorder prices for Avacyn Restored to $100, which used to be $90 for all previous sets for a long time. Is it a sign of a price increase coming? Worldwide?
If you'd checked Star City two weeks ago the pre-order price was $89.99. It went up to $94.99 last week, I believe, and it jumped to $99.99 right around the time Temporal Mastery was spoiled. They're selling hype.
