The title really sums it up...

Does anyone know what happened to the rumored mtg movie?

Is it happening? Ever? Is it dead? Why?

The very brief and lazy search I did for info was surprisingly inconclusive.

Does anyone know what the deal is?

Here's the list I've been playing online in the tournament practice section on mtgo the past few days, I've been doing very nicely. (18 wins and 11 losses)

I really like light up the stage. The benefits far outweigh the 2 downsides I've found with the card:
-you can't suspend rift bolt from exile, you can only cast it for 3.
-sometimes it doesnt work well with swiftspear. Other times you can damage your opponent and play LutS before you attack with swiftspear.

I took our my 4th fireblast because I've just been seeing it too much. There have been times in the past that I've thought 4 wa too many, and now especially with LutS, it's just in my hand too early or in multiples too often.
At least it feels that way.

I've been playing with the new cards online the past few days. My unscientific first impressions are pretty good on both cards. I took out 3 risk factor (which i like better then browbeat for a number of reasons that are now moot) 3 price of progress and 1 land (I'm running 19 mountains now) to add 3 skewer and 4 light up the stage.
I like both cards individually, but im feeling like so many cards im counting on casting for the spectacle cost are kind of slowing my roll, and they dont play well with swiftspear. Plus I really miss my pop. I'm going to take the skewers back out for the pop.
I'm really enjoying the light up the stage. Its letting me play 19 lands with more consistancy, and it makes it easier to get out my vortex, which has really been a powerhouse for me.

I appreciate the suggestion about chrome mox, it just makes me so nervous to dump cards. Is there a trick I dont know whith the mox ? Or is the card you imprint to it really gone?

Quick update to my thoughts on skewer....

People loose life regularly...most notably with fetch lands. If this card were an instant it would be awesome.

As it is, it's still another 3 for 1. Throw in some shard volleys and that's 24 bolts, one way or another. (Are there more?)

Add in the 12 standard creatures, 4 fire blasts and 20 mountains, that's a super fast deck.

Flat out racing hasn't worked very well for me in a long time, but if they keep printing usaebale 1cc cards, maybe it can work again.

Right now the issue seems to be getting enough mountains down fast enough to unload all of this cheap damage all over someone....
Gauntlet of might is too slow,
    Fast bond is too green...
But something that let's me play my cards faster is what I think I'm missing now.

I'm looking at that card too....
I'm not sure what I'd take out yet.
Personally I dont mind rift bolts delay..the suspend turn often turns into a defensive play, in that an opponent holds off casting a creature for a turn because they know it's going to get bolted.
The downside to this new card in my mind, is that it would be a totally dead bolt on turn 1.
I'm sure I'll get some, I'm not sure they'll make it into my deck on a permanent basis.

Its been a while since i came by for advice, I figured id ask again. I took the white out and made a few other changes since the last time i posted, heres the deck im using now:

Most of the time it works pretty well. Sometimes it feels like i have too many Jace, the mind sculptors in the deck. Looking at decklists online, it seems that most people use 2. so im thinking about dropping down to 2 as well.

if i were to pull a one out, im considering either another duress (bringing my discard total to 7), another spell pierce (bringing my counter total to 11) or another tutor (bringing my tutor total to 6)

if i were to add another tutor, im unsure of which one. it could be another personal tutor, or something else, like grim tutor.
the personal tutor works pretty well, most of the time im tutoring for tinker anyway, and a few times ive used it to get Yawgmoth's will. grim tutor is nice, any card, right to the hand...but 1BB feels like a MUCH higher casting cost then U. and while 3 life isnt a ton, ive certainly won many games with less then 3 life left...

how do people feel about grim tutor in general? should i replace the personal tutor im currently using for a grim tutor regardless of what i decide to do with the third copy of Jace, the mind sculptor?

im also open to other suggestions you might have about the deck in general.

thanks in advance for your thoughts

Ps....anyone reading this who doesnt play online totally should. The burn deck costs very little to buy and there's only a 1 time small fee to wizards to play. And its really good
Ive been playing magic for over 20 years in some really populated areas and ive never seen a consistently high level of play like i do online.
Its like playing in a game store, but with thousands of people who youve never met and whose deck youve never seen.
And the cards are so cheap compared to their paper versions, people can really play the decks they want.

I dont think i can overplay how high the level of competition is

Plus, with the thousands of players that are registered online, id like to think that wizards looks at some of the data from its online game. Maybe if all of a sudden 1000 new people are playing burn decks online wizards will print some sick new burn cards.

    So lets go burn people......

I play online almost exclusively at this point and i find that i run into a much wider variety of decks then i ever did when i played at stores in paper.
Last week over the course of 1 day playing i lost to a dark depths, 2 different matches to glacial chasms and im pretty sure to a tabernacle (although maybe i misplayed that last one....)
Point is, i hate just auto loosing when a single card hits the table.
I took out 3 mountains and put in 3 wastelands.
Ive probably played around 40 matches since then. Ive lost a few times because the wasteland wasnt a mountain. 2 that i remember right now, and probably a few others.
But the wasteland has been really helpful way more times then that. In addition to taking care of the few pain in the ass lands i mentioned earlier, these are some other fun things ive done with it:
Delayed hymns, delayed jaces, taken away a blue mana for counterspell, killed mishras factory, stopped stp and or disenchant for a turn or 2.....

Does anyone have thoughts on or more experience with wasteland?

Also...recently im finding games are going much longer then they used to. Counterspells, life gain, discard, land destruction....maybe its the meta or maybe its just something im doing wrong, but im frequently finding myself in games that go 7, 10, 12 turns....i lost to some kind of blue control deck on turn 16 the other day...
Im trying out some bomat couriers to put more cards in my hand.
I took out lava spikes to fit them. I started with 3 and am now running 2.
Theyve flat out won me 3 games that i can recall, as in sacd them and played the cards under them for the win immediately. They've been helpful a bunch of times, and i dont think i ever lost a game directly because the courier wasnt a lava spike.

Any thoughts on or experience with bomat couriers?

Basically im trying to make my deck more resilient against a wider variety of decks.

    Thanks for your thoughts

I reworked my deck a little this week, took the 3 searing blood out of the main, went up to 20 mountains, and put in 2 lavamancers.

I want to add the 4th pop, but need to take some thing out.

I like the 3 vortex and i want to keep all 4 fireblasts for now, so that leaves me thinking about taking out one of my bolts. Either a lava spike or a rift bolt.
My first instinct is to take out a rift bolt because its slower.
But then i think i just took out a lot of creature removal and i should take out the lava spike because it doesnt hit creatures.
However, even if i were to take out the rift bolt, id still have 11 bolts that can hit creatures plus the 2 lavamancers.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

On another note.....has anyone tested thorn of amethyst in the side against storm decks?

I havent tried it in my burn deck yet, ive been running it in goblins, but it devastates storm and it messes with so many other decks. Just that ponder and brainstorm cost 2 instead of 1 is huge, and every 0 cast artifact is 1 instead.

It may seem counter initiative to play a card that taxes so many of our spells, but doesnt eidolon punish us for most of the spells in our deck as well?

We have some good fast creatures.....
