Anyway thank you for reading this, I'm not trying to sparkle a debate, I just wanted to get it out of my chest because I really like this game and I really want to see players having more choices with their creatures.

Thanks in advance, I wish a good day to everyone.

On the other hand, it saddens me that "Creatures: The Gathering" is a more fitting name for the game nowadays. I wish I had more options for my instants and sorceries, generic "1R Sorcery Deal 3 + expansion mechanic" and "3U Draw 2 + expansion mechanic" got old pretty quick. Frown

    The Eldest Reborn
    Doubling Season

The way I see it, if i have doubling season in play and I resolve an Eldest Reborn, I'd have each opponent sac a creature or PW and then discard a card, in that order correct? (I'm asking cause there was some madness shenannigans happening as we resolved)

Also, what happens with History of benalia Do I get 8 tokens assuming I had a Doubling season in play as History resolved?

    Thanks in advance.

I have a Realmwright in play naming "Swamp". My lands in play are a Steam Vents, Basic Island, Ancient Tomb. I decide to play Magus of the Moon with my shock and tomb.

    My questions are:
Would my Island would remain to be a Basic Land - Island Swamp after blood moon resolves?
Would my Steam Vents and Tomb would now be a Land - Mountain Swamp? or Just a Land - Mountain?
Would back to basics allow me to untap anything but the forementioned Island?

What would happen if I played moon and realmwright reversed, first resolved blood moon and then a realmwright? Would my Steam vents, then be a Land - Mountain while Moon is in play and then a Land - Mountain Swamp after realmwright resolved naming Swamp?

    Thanks in advance.

Has anyone tried brewing with Muldrotha, the Gravetide yet?
Seems like she could be awesome in a stacks shell, we don't mind stuff in the yard anyway.
(sorry if this has been discussed, just checked in after a long hiatus again)

they've probably come to a realization that it's nothing more than a money grab to keep MTG afloat.

This I was talking to one of my friends, he was very surprised I sold my cards, one of the topics that came up was the fact that Mtg felt like a moneygrab, I'm not against a company making money, but when they basically shift the old power from commons/uncommons to Rare and mythic it just feels terrible to open packs and ignore the first 13 or so cards, only to find an sealed-bomb bulk rare at the end of it all.

I remember when I first started, I was super excited I got most of the cards I wanted for a U/G madness deck out of like 20 boosters from oddyssey block. Good luck getting most of the cards you need out of boxes, unless you're buying them like candy.

Personally I just sold my collection, just kept a couple decks I play at my kitchen table with some friends every now and then and that have some meaning to them.

Cardboard quality is piss poor, I literally checked some of the pre onslaught commons and uncommons I had kept inside a shoebox in a closet for over 10 years, still felt, and looked just like I left them, the BFZ and newer boxes? Mostly all of them were curved, a LOT of them clearly had coloring issues (mostly from the kaladesh block) and all of them felt awful to the touch, which made me wonder if, in the long run, it would be worth keepin. However that's not what pushed me to quit attending sanctioned events again, it was the fact that the sole reason I attended FNMs was to meet up with my buddies and grab a couple of beers after the FNM, Standard was no longer fun to me and a small group of friends (mostly in our late 20's early 30's).

As far as attendance being down, it probably is, however I've noticed more "new" players while the old are moving on, in fact, the last FNM I attended was just 10 players, early in Dec, down from the usual 16-20, I thought it'd be due to the holydays, but talking to the LGS owner he said that it's been slowly but steadily declining since early Sept, but newer players seem to show up more often, and when I texted my friends to see if they were comin, they said they were already at our usual hang-out place, figured I'd play for a bit then catch up with them, after 3 turns of the first game I dropped. Playing Vs monored or energy for the bajillionth time just wasn't worth my time. Perhaps it is WotC's intention to slowly alienate the old guard, the people that have a really hard time getting hyped for cards like mastermind's acquisition when we literally lived the golden age of wishes and just can't sit through the grindfest of Midrange: The Gathering, or have better books to read than the cartoony adventures of the Jacetice League.

On a positive note, I'm grateful for all the great times I've had and the great friendships I made thanks to the game, but, for some of us, it is time to move on, maybe the direction that WotC has taken is to appeal to a younger crowd.

There are WAY better spells to cast at 4 CMC, Settle the wreckage, Cast out, Ixalan's Binding those are better options on white alone. I'm pretty sure each color has even more 4 drops that are better than the intervention.

Opt has lead me to brew some janky versions of Turns that I probably won't ever play - I had a build with Opts and Thought Scours alongside a full set of Snapcasters, some Noxious Revival, and a spicy one-of Temporal Trespass that seemed good, but folds to Chalice on 1 in an Eldrazi Tron meta.

With that said, I'm going to try a direct swap of Opts for Visions, picking up my playset of Remands again and upping the Snapcaster count. I'll post a list after work today.

Maybe make room for Search for Azcanta? I'm probably just a tad bit overhyped for this card tbh.

I bought the wizards precon (All others were sold out) for an unaltered c17 2HG tourney, ended up being randomly paired with another wizards precon and took the prize home. Kind of fell in love with Kess, dissident mage will brew around her. Dark petition looks tasty, there should be enough looting, tutoring and extra turns and protection for her in her wedge.

Hello everyone, just came here to ask for some advice, and it seems relevant. I found a serra's sanctum I'm not gonna use, already have the 2 my enchantress deck needs, I run anywhere from 0 to 2 depending on the list. It has been sitting in a metal box for probably over 4 years, my question is should I try to cash in? I don't even remember how (or when) I got it.
Could probably get 50-55 bucks out of it (As at least a couple EDH players have shown interest in my sanctums whenever they see me play them), or wait for another buyout or something when "the 25th anniversary" set is launched next summer?

I'm outside of the EU/US of A, so getting this type of cards is quite tricky, pretty sure I can sell it within a day or 2, and while $50 isn't a lot, I could go buy me some great beers and BBQ something over the weekend.

Edit: I've never been a speculator, nor care too much for it, but I'd feel bad if it'll skyrocket in a year, knowing I just had to let it sit for a bit longer (Kinda wish I didn't find it tbh).

So, I've been brewing with a U/W list tweaked to beat Mono R on the upcoming gameday, small meta (probably 10-12 players), but I can say at least 50% of the meta will be mono R, and an even bigger share will be aggro, be it snek.dec, energy variants or vehicles and I know 2 of my friends will bring U/R/x (most likely grixis) variants.

Anyways, here's my list. Is there something blatant I'm missing or would this be enough to get free wins vs 70%+ of the meta.

Any hints or tips greatly appreciated. I'm still looking for some decent replacements for Westvale Abbey but combined with Oketra's last mercy they have pulled me out of some tricky situations, albeit quite, very, VERY, slowly.
Edit: Main issue I have is dealing with a T2 Heart of Kiran on the play, but I think I've only lost 1 match to the only vehicles player after a 3 hr playtest session yesterday.

  • posted a message on Speculation, Wishes, and Hopes for the MMO
I just hope there's endgame, most MMORPGs I've played lately seem to focus a lot on the lvling experience and end-game ends up feeling empty and repetitive, or straight up lacking in comparison to WoW, heard great things about FFXV or w/e the number is, but haven't personally checked it out.

Hope the game is good enough most of my wow guild jumps ship, most of them play MTG and are, like me, quite a bit hyped about an mtg mmo.

  • posted a message on FELIDAR GUARDIAN IS BANNED!
The biggest problem I have with the ban, is not the ban itself (I don't even play Copy Cat), it's the way they approached it, we went through 3-4 months of Wizards literally telling us "Shut up, we know better. Temur Tower is actually good" only to have them go "Whoops we dunfuktup. Our Bad" 2 days after the official announcement straight up Yu Gi Oh style -a game I quit playing because of random "emergency" bans, some of them even happening in the middle of the equivalent of PT weekends.

I guess i'll probably stick to modern/legacy/edh (although the Top ban actually stung quite a bit).

Correct. You can't, however, have a deck with less than 60 cards after sideboarding.

First time I opened a box, I think the last one was back in 8th edition or something. Not disappointed.

'Goif, Veil, Blood Moon, and 1 of each fetch. Pretty stoked! Grin
