STE is quite expensive for what he does. It would probably be more beneficial to run Rampant Growth. No sense in needlessly spending $2+ for mana ramp.
Where are you wanting the prices of the cards to come from? I will base my suggestions on the median price from MagicCards.info.
Martyr's Cause - A great sacrifice outlet for a token deck. MagicCards.info $0.23
Night Soil - Graveyard removal tied in with token generation. MagicCards.info $0.16
Aura Shards - By far my most expensive suggestion but a must include in any token deck. MagicCards.info $1.70
I think that a $50 deck limit is going to be extremely difficult when you are forcing Greater Good, Command Tower, and Lingering Souls in the deck. This basically means that the rest of the cards need to cost under $35.05. This means that the average cost of each other card must be $0.36. Command Tower isn't NEEDED in a two color deck. There is plenty of mana fixing to be had in green. Also...$8 is a lot of money to squeeze into a $50 budget. Best of luck and I hope this works out. It is a fun idea.
So... I learned a valuable lesson this weekend. Don't lose control of Karmic Justice when you have Lightmine Field on the board. Probably got greedy with Replenish but...I got crushed. BTW my play group has banned this deck. Very similar to my life gain stall deck. Not enough action. I maintain that this is an awesome list though.
With that being said...I do think some of the less absurd donate targets should be considered. Rust Elemental seems like a really good choice here. While probably not the nicest Group Hug card...it very efficiently punishes people for getting out of line.
That's a pity guys because this was one of the first lists I looked at when I started playing EDH.
I still pop in and out so...I will still give input. If you would like to throw up ideas...I will still give my opinions. But I don't play the deck anymore so...I won't be giving any testing information.
The first page is out of date, due to me not playing EDH anymore
If someone wants me to update it with ImAChampion's list I will, as well as update the reasoning as why each card is played, but that would need the input of ImAChampion...
I sold off my list and have moved on as well. I think it is time to put a nail in this coffin Tom.
It's at the bottom of the first post though not entirely current. Only difference right now is that I'm running Sylvan Primordial over Tooth and Nail but I'm thinking I might cut Acidic Slime instead when I get around to an update. Still need to pick up a Thespian's Stage for the deck if I want to try it out, I like it in theory. Return to Ravnica was surprisingly unhelpful for the deck.
Awesome. I usually like a starting point when venturing into new waters. Your ideas are always interesting.
I also considered cutting Strip Mine for it but I think I'll give it a shot over Springjack Pasture instead since the Mine is useful for the many Cabal Coffers and High Markets I need to destroy. I like the idea more than Vesuva in this deck.
This is a very interesting deck. I stumbled onto it after playing against a Rhys list very similar to this one on Cockatrice. Would you mind posting your current list Donald?
Looking back over your list, Thran Lens probably wouldn't be as effective in your build. In mine, Thran Lens is able to change a permanent to any color so I can utilize color-manipulation even without my General on the field. It has offensive and defensive synergy with the Swords, Story Circle, Pentarch Paladin, and Mirran Crusader. It is really one of those cards that people are like "um, okay" until they actually see it's uses.
You are aware that Thran Lens makes things Colorless...I don't see how that would help any of the cards that you mentioned. All the cards you mentioned require a specific color. Being that you can't name colorless as a color type...I think you might be misinformed.
One question for you... have you ever tried Gauntlet of Power? Curious, to see. I have never included it in my Mono-White, simply because it gives others the benefit too.
Again... just glad to see another 8 1/2 Tails EDH build!
Giving others the benefit really didn't bother me. I took it out because Caged Sun is simply better in every way.
Curiosity here...why Thran Lens? I would still have to turn the spell white before I could protect against it.
I originally had all the Swords in here...but they just didn't seem to work as well as I liked. They were basically just another Anthem. The protection really isn't a problem. With Eight-and-a-Half-Tails on the table...I usually play draw go until I can have protection and still play stuff.
I was looking at Defy Death about a month ago...but really the only card that it could replace is Marshal's Anthem...and late game it is like a pseudo single sided Living Death.
I have been tinkering with this deck for quite a while now and have had quite a bit of success with it. I was hoping you could check it out and perhaps throw me some tips.
Just a note...the deck is based on Angels and Archons. While not technically tribal...that is the route I was going.
I hate myself for saying this...but wouldn't Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind simply be better for that style of play?
I hate recommending another general to people...but I have seen this deck stray from what makes Tibor and Lumia really good...to Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind simply being better.

TLDR: You should probably remove the restriction of Greater Good and Command Tower from the deck.
I would apologize for the Necro but...this deck is amazing. What did you actually change with RTR and Gatecrash?
This is easily the best version of Chainer that I have seen yet.
...faster clap.
...all out applause.
...standing ovation.
...:hifive:
I have tried so hard to make Zedruu playable without being a dick.

Overall...fantastic deck idea.
