I don't see how you can defend yourself with this setup. Consider some defenses

    4 Innocent Blood
    4 Barter in Blood

I ran something similar U/B but without underworld dreams

    4 Liliana's Caress
    4 Megrim
    4 Whispering Madness
    1 Windfall

One shotting the entire table in a few turns wasn't as enjoyable as I thought. After a couple wins I dismantled the deck. Too easy, frowned upon, dissatisfying games.

We have a U/R Repercussion deck in our meta!

It uses Æther Flash and cards that GIVE opponents tokens (creatures, lands, etc)

    Its often answered by
    * General Enchantment hate, 2-for cards if you can to maximize usefulness
    * Detention Sphere
    * Cards like Extirpate and Lobotomy that removes them all
    * Cards like Duress
    * Blue can counter it or return it to their hand when they drop the sorcery
    * Protections. Yes! Etched Champion, Mirran Crusader, Paladin En-Vec

The Boros reckoner changes things, but there's a lot of good cards suggested already. The boros isn't the problem... repercussion is. If all else fails, Witchbane Orb in group games

But really, a card like Absolute Law shuts it down completely IF there is enough red in your meta to justify the deck space.

  • posted a message on Why you should be patient with your removals and why counterspells are usually bad
Our meta has become tainted. Wrath and removal were so popular, everything shifted to indestructible, hexproof and protections. Its friggen annoying but it makes a good puzzle.

Terminus, Wing Shards and Wash Out are among the best cards in our meta now. A timely Wing Shards can cost a 2HG/3HG team the game, especially if you throw some of your own instants out first. Mutilate is good too, but harder to play in multicolor decks

Ench/art removal is probably most important above anything else, yet most people are reluctant to "waste" slots on it. No matter how many times we die from Defense of the Heart, Omniscience or stasis decks.

Counter magic may seem ineffective in multiplayer, until someone plays Insurrection and wins the game. While a fog effect will answer that, a counterspell is much more versatile. Of course you could Ætherize, Evacuation or even Sensei-Terminus that depending on what answers your worked into your deck. Ideally, I don't want the board to get that big to begin with. Bounce spells have a downside....say all the elves come back into play within a couple turns.

Very much this Wink especially since SnT can go so awfully wrong in multiplayer

My Walmart and target both have every one EXCEPT mind seize (go figure!!!!)

I've been stalking target and learned they get new inventory on Friday's and got their one Mind Seize at MSRP. Will stop in on Fridays to see if I can nab another

I absolutely refuse to pay !! $75 !! at my local card shop

I bought two mind seize on ebay and didn't read the fine print about Strix and Nemeis being removed =( The auction showed a picture of the original packaging. I send them back for a refund, but lost shipping two ways and a restocking fee. Need pity please. T_T

    Why embarrassed?

Crotch rockets are already heavily disliked by drivers on the road. You'll never change that anyway. Even if your the law abiding safety rider who stays in his lane and doesn't do more than 5 over, people dislike you and write letters to the city about "crotch rockets out of control". People like this don't give us a bad name. We already have one. I quite like it myself.

Side note, half the bikes in that video are junk.

And how warped some of your opinions are - like on rent and the price of chicken breasts. ($4/lb! Even higher than MD contrary to your "$7 bag" implication)

Warped opinions? It is not my warped opinion that a bag of chicken breasts cost $7 from giant eagle here. I purchased one this week. $4/lb is steak prices. My brother pays 525/mo for a -3- bedroom apartment in Eastlake, ~25 miles from Cleveland. This includes water garbage and sewer. Its not in the ghetto, just in case its implied. And yes, eggs do cost 1.75 a carton here as well. Even less at Aldi's, but I'm rather loyal to Giant Eagle.

Yes. Other areas cost more to live in, and I can't imagine that NEO is somehow the bottom of the barrel in regards to the cost of living.

(You also referenced Akron. Very selective in your choice, a major city thats more expensive than the 30 outskirt cities around it. lol.)

I'm not as invested in this as you are. I care a whole lot less. They are never going to get the amount they are asking for, and I don't think they should. Some people can't figure out the system and make it work. Life is going to be harder for these people. I did it. My siblings did it. And most everyone I know did it at some point. Yet you are compelled to just keep making personal digs at me, as if I have no idea what I'm talking about. If you can't refrain from doing that, I'm just going to dismiss you as an overspoken forum jerk and walk away from you, rather than feeding you more.

My wardrobe consists of about 10 plain black t-shirts, one pair of jeans, and a couple of pairs of shorts. I have gotten really far from wanting every shirt to have some sort of crazy awesome design on it.

I really hate wearing suits, the most uncomfortable thing to wear ever, plus I am not a fan of "dressing up" for any particular event, just feels weird.

    What?

Here is my argument, just in case you missed it because you were too busy being angry-

I am not angry in any way. Not in the least. I simply carry different views or don't agree with posts.

Then respond to my argument, instead of what you think is my argument.

There is no argument to respond to. You never proposed one.

You said not to apply (actual words being 'do you really plan to apply') the standards of living that I know (lets call that northern Ohio) to everywhere else. By standard of living you must not mean "quality of life" since that's purely subjective. So logically, it must be a reference to "how much it costs to live in other places".

We already know that it costs more to live in some areas over others.

I am not proposing any solution to change that (nothing we do will ever change that) and you clearly didn't propose a solution (such as raising minimum wage to accommodate higher costs of living in other areas which are more expensive) so we have nothing here but a statement.

Just a note, when you shop for fans on various sights like newegg, most products have the decibel levels listed. Its a balance between high CFM's of flow, and the decibels that produces.

My computer fans gets loud(er) when I have 2-3 games open at once, like WoW, D3 and others. They ramp up RPM's to accommodate the heat.

Good suggestions on the cleaning; buildup within the system increases heat, which increases fan speed. It also lowers your FPS and overall performance.

there's a ton of people out there that want to room with a parent raising a kid, which many of these people are in that situation, quite often as a single parent.

Throwing a whole new spin on it by adding in "raising a kid" and "quite often as a single parent." We do not expect people to accomplish this on minimum wage, without government aid and Obama money.

Seriously, finding a $400/mo apartment within 30 miles (public transport range) of any major city is a rarity.

That is not an accurate statement. Note you said 'any' major city. Plenty of suburbs around Ohio's major cities have cheap living. Demographics apply here.

Even in cheap areas like Orlando, FL which is lauded as one of the cheapest areas to rent in the US - 1/1's start around $600-700/mo.

600 is close to the mark.

But really. Orlando, FL? One of the most popular cities in the US? We can spin demographics all day. How does a minimum wage worker afford an apartment in Hollywood? How about Washington DC? They don't, and we already know that.

    Quote from Vaclav
what a great situation for any reasonable person to consider a living wage.

You feel people simply 'auto deserve' a comfortable lifestyle regardless of what they do for work. Without outside help, roommates, a mate, even possibly while raising kids on their own. I do not. There is no debate here that living on minimum wage is hard.

    Quote from magickware99

Do you really plan on taking what you know as the minimum standard of living and apply to everywhere else?

    I don't think I've ever heard of a 400 USD/month apartment.

Do you really plan on taking what you know as the minimum standard of living and apply to everywhere else?

Some areas are more expensive than others, so we raise the bar for everyone across the country that everyone may afford the expensive areas.

    Okay.

and a healthy adult needs about $10/day in food to get proper nutrition

    And just to be facetious.

You know a dozen jumbo eggs is like $1.75 right... and an entire bag of chicken breasts is like $7. Campbell's products are 1$ a can. And how many people are above romon noodles when broke. Every sibling in my family hit the romon noodles when first starting out on their own. All of us moved out at 18. Only one went to college. We all made things work. Stop painting the impossible scenario that its so hard.

I live in a two story condo, with furnished basement. It is the end unit, so we have an attached garage. We have a lawn and a back patio area. Its not big, but its cute.

House is very nice inside and out. I have remodeled most of it. Three bathrooms, 2 shower/tubs, 2 very large bedrooms (the difference from a 3 bedroom unit is a divider wall). I also have a minibar and a fireplace.

Our maint crew does literally everything year round. Lawn care, landscaping, leaves, shoveling and plowing. They put new siding on the house last year, a roof next year. The entire neighborhood is well kept and beautiful. The trees bloom pink leaves in the spring.

I am quite handy. Next near I plan to deck the entire back patio , with grilling area, planters, benches and of course an outdoor furniture set. I also added hardscaping with retaining walls, pavers and pillars around the planted areas.

My girlfriend lives with me now; we rent out her house to tenants. We are the preferred people to stay with when people visit town; I take pride in that. LOL.

There might be more to the example I briefed over, as I am not from the area and not particularly familiar with the details the media doesn't like to highlight, but I read the same ideas here and it's the same: there's an entitled attitude running rampant. Unfortunately, the type of society the States runs with needs people on the bottom like a pyramid. But the people on the bottom have the same opportunities I had (coming from a family without a lot of money, just enough to get by): if you want to be on the top you have to climb. Complaining you are on the bottom doesn't get you moving.

    Yes.

This problem is coming into the spotlight because many fell off the pyramid these last few years, and had to get back in at the bottom. Instead of starting the climb, they want the bottom to support their family , their mortgage, their car note and all the luxuries they previously had.

When people tell me they lost their house, I say "Yeah. That happens. Sometimes you just have to downsize and sort things out."

    ----------

The livable wage argument is all relative to what other people have, or what people want. Food, shelter, and security can all be afforded on minimum wage. In scenarios which it doesn't provide these things, government aid applies. Quality of life is going to be lesser than others who make more money. But it can very much be better than most of the people living in other countries.

It really comes down to entitlement. People feel entitled to having a nice home, a car, a family, a smartphone, cigarettes, cable, and extra spending money. Its hard for people to accept they might not afford these things. Hard for people to accept they might have to bunk with a roommate, downsize their living conditions, live in a 400/mo apartment or have both adults in a relationship working to make ends meet.

As for those 'talented and educated people' who fell off the pyramid and are now working fast food jobs or retail chains as a supplement, it is nonsensical to think that position should now pay more to stock shelves, clean bathrooms or cook burgers because you 'used' to have a 30K job, but took the job anyone can do. When really, you should strive to get out of that job and move up. People like to paint a scenario where that cannot be done. I really think that boils down to determination and ambition.
