    I keep needle in hand for elixir. I cast Chronomaton which gets revoked and the two creatures stare each other. If Feyd Ruin activates Ratchet bomb then I cast ex parasite which woulod also trade. If Feyd casts Elixir I Cast needle naming Elixir.

    Shivan gorge is legendary, neither of us can win with it. I could destroy mine for a 3/3(on the play) but it'd be useless against his field and I'd lose to his gorge. So the lands go bye-bye and we draw.

    I would like to submit a correction to another matchup though:

    On the Play I force a draw by beasting my gorge which races his troll. this means he either trades his troll with my token, or counters my beast within letting me play bridge which means we draw that game. (I just realized if he counters beast within I can win with gorge, but it doesn't matter he can still draw by trading.)

    The other functional change besides making discard require fewer cards/less mana is that discard would be a turn faster on the draw. That would turn current 3-3 matchups into 6-0.

    Not the end of the world, but a slower format allows more innovation.


    The "discard" rule could be written so as to be active until both(all) players have completed 2 full turns, which seems to be the intent. That would make Benbuzz's wording less of a functional change and also avoid loophole cards like Anvil of Bogardan.


    Honestly, I'm more interested in the rule that says all decks must be able to win a match, especially in backbuild. Some backbuild decks can win against a goldfish and not much else. It might be hard to tell a deck that beats nothing but a goldfish(illegal because a goldfish is not itself a legal submission) from a deck that beats maybe 1-10 decks out of all possible legal decks.

    Perhaps It could be rewritten to exclude itself when checking deck legality.
    "all submitted decks must be able to win a match against at least one deck that follows all rules except this one", or perhaps players could be required to submit a chain of decks which the deck beats which loops back to the original submission, or one could take it on faith that such a chain exists and just accept all decks which can beat a goldfish and/or the test deck. I suppose the moderator could just always make the test deck a legal deck.

    I don't think augur is relevant here, but I may have missed something.

    He needs to crack 3 times to kill my Horror. since he always draw Remembrance first, that's not until turn 6, too late(2 times to kill the leyline and get some tokens, also too slow). If he could shuffle in just the crack without the remembrance he'd get the split.

    Karakas can handle a gambited Ulamog. which makes the interesting matchup Liliana vs Hunted Horror. On the play I can recast horror and attack his Liliana. On the Draw Horror is stuck in hand just long enough for Liliana to Discard it. Liliana's 3rd ability can then disrupt my combo and ulamog cleans up.

    My winning line of play if I have one is usually t1 forest, tinder wall, sac for mana, anurid scavenger. t2 return tinder wall to library, draw tinder wall, mountain, avalanche rider, attack with rider and/or scavenger. t3+ sac rider to echo, return rider to library, draw and play rider, attack. this lets me lock my opponent at 1 land on my play or 2 on my draw.

    I replay my rider and play my wall, he attacks with everything, I block 3 wolves killing 2 and take 6. I replay my rider. He attacks with everything, I block ranger with rider, wolf with scavenger, and the elemental with the wall. the wall, ranger, and wolf die. I take 1 which leaves me at 1 life. I now have more blockers than he has attackers. Neither player can win.
    Quiron ranger tricks stop my rider in his tracks

    Memnite x5 gets the uniform deck and decree of silence bonuses. I can't think of any deck that gets both those bonuses and another one.


    cloudpost x4 / Emrakul the ages torn is the simplest and quickest way to get the field wipe bonus but it doesn't get the non cb bonus, or the x5 bonus.

    epic struggle/Back to Nature/Springjack pasture/Mistveil plainsSaltcrusted Steppe manages to get all bonuses but the uniform deck bonus.
