I just thought the same and start trying 3 goyf and 1 pyromancer. I think it realy depends on your meta. The best part is that makes you less dependant on graveyard hate but is a lot easier to kill. For me the combination of 3 goyfs and 1 pyromancer is working ok.
Yeah, that was my think was a split of 2/2 or something of the sort. I may do some testing next week and report my findings.
Has anyone here tried young pyromancer as a replacement for goyf just to test? For some reason I feel unimpressed when I draw goyf recently, but haven't had a good chance to test the pyro.
So I am piecing this deck together and. am starting to see a lone Jace, the Mind Sculptor in a lot of sideboards. I was looking for some insight into which decks this is good to board in against. Thank you in advance.
This. Blighsteel Colossus can buy you several extra turns provided a successful reanimation of Balustrade Spy. It has more utility than just a way to beat Show and Tell decks. I'm not saying it is a must in the maindeck, but it is not a dead card.
I'm not sure how to quote multiple people yet, but someone earlier asked about reanimating Iona, Shield of Emeria. I personally don't think it's worth it. It's good in fair match-ups, but we're winning those without it. It's not good in some speed match-ups like ANT since they can bounce it, but it could win the game against other speed match-ups like Elves. Ultimately, I don't think running one copy is worth it, since the only time you would want to reanimate it is when you don't have a Balustrade Spy in your graveyard to win the game.
As far as mulliganing, I would never do it. If you have no dregders but ONE cantrip, I think the numbers are fairly even as far as being able to dredge by turn 3 (missing a turn). I'll try to support this mathematically when I get a little time If you have no dregders and no cantrips, I think it's better to keep and roll the dice than to mulligan and roll the dice AGAIN.
It was I who posted about Iona. She does feel lackluster these days. Someone had mentioned Sundering Titan but I feel that could be a win more card too unless I need to buy time. It could also draw out a counter spell though as you would be taking out a lot of land if it resolves.
Trops for $50? I don't know how bad they'd have to be to not buy - maybe chewed by a dog?
Chord of Calling? I think it is currently a good price, although I would find it tough because I bought mine from a Store for a considerably lower price when the modern season started.
Is Pod seriously this big? I see it played a fair amount, but I wouldn't say any more than Jund, Rg Aggro, Karn Tron, Kiki Mite, or UWR.
The last modern GP was dominated by Melira Pod. I'd definitely buy at $14. If it does well again this weekend it could go up more.
So after goldfishing and playing a few rounds with friends I have realized one thing. Do I ever really want to bring Iona out of the yard? It feels like she is good, but I've never wanted to go for her instead of the kill.Any ideas on this or potential replacents? I don't like the BSC route either. Part of me thought about just playing a 3rd Nether Shadow just to have more ways of getting free creatures on board. A friend of mine suggested Grisselbrand. Any thoughts?
I still think they should have added "view" to the list of things you can't do so that way you could buy a card but have no idea how much you are paying until it bounces your check book. Haha. The only thing I can think is they are coming out with an app or have a deal for a site to use their data.
I suppose any site that scraped from them will have to stop. I know a lot them use tcgplayer too which, IMO, is a better representation of the actual market.
I know this might not be worth anything but I have a Ghor-Clan Rampager that all of the text looks "bold" and in the name of the card you can visibly see a smear in the ink. Any chance this would be worth anything? Let me know.

But it isn't damage prevention. It has protection. Would skullcrack still work?
Just as a heads up, semi-new to legacy.
On another note, has anyone tried Shadow of Doubt in their main board?

Pretty bold move on their part.
How has the aristocrat worked out for you? I feel its 1 toughness is a major drawback.
Sell?
