Well, then you probably will get $18.75 in trade at most since that's 75% of their sales price.
If all their singles are 40% over USA pricing like their Caverns are, you will still not really be make anything on trading the cards in.
Which is basically why I do not want to sell them at my LGS. The main reason I bought them was because they are 56% StarCityGames's prices (17 vs 30). Trading these to players sounds like an infinetely better deal.
I just bought 8 copies of Cavern of Souls for 16,99$. What should I do with them? Should I keep them a few years because of Modern and Legacy, or should I trade them for 29,99$ now? (SCG price)
Do you think the price will go down shortly, or will it stay at its high price?
The one on the left is Repeat Performance: Your creatures arrive ready to battle, bringing friends and beneficial effects, then they return to your hand with the help of Roaring Primadox. And when you summon them again... more friends and benefits!
The one on the right is Sweet Revenge: Stoke the flames of the past with the "Sweet Revenge" deck. Just a few key creatures will distract your foes from your constant spellcasting escapades, while Burning Vengeance punishes them again with every flashback spell you cast.
It depends how much you're willing to spend per card, really, but there are a lot of options out there that pretty much span the spectrum of efficiency and cost.
Some of your cheaper, yet still very functional options include:
- ZEN taplands (Sejiri Refuge et al)
- RAV karoo lands (Azorius Chancery et al)
- Shards tri lands (Seaside Citadel et al)
With the addition of the ABUR duals and RAV shocks to this list, these are the only cycles of lands I really consider when deckbuilding (maayyybe vivids, as in your case). I think all of these would do you well, except perhaps the painlands, as they are good in 3-color decks that need to hit their colors early on but then can switch to producing colorless once their mana base strengthens up as the game progresses. In your case, you might deal yourself too much damage with them.
Very useful post, thanks a lot ! I've bought the Karoo lands and they seem to be working fine so far. I also consider running the Refuges and the Tris, but I don't want the mana-base to become unstable. Should I limit this to the Tri-lands?
I play a 5 colored cascade deck (casual) based on the planechase "Chaos reigns" deck and have found that Gaea's Balance can really get the Fusion Elemental out quick. It might help for some fun commander combos in your case. What about the rest of the deck? Are you so dedicated that you're only using slivers?
You could try to cheat out the creatures so that you don't need to worry too much about mana base. A quicksilver amulet here, an elvish piper there and swosh, you've got what you need before the opponents can say "Day of judgement" (always wondered how sliver edh decks handle boardwipes).
Edit: as for other lands that kind of fit the bill.
-Exotic orchard
-Shimmering grotto
-Darigaaz's Caldera (and the other lairs)
I don't really want creatures other than Slivers, so I don't think I'll run the spells you listed. Well, except Quicksilver Amulet. It sounds way too cool not to try. And boardwipes hurt, like, a lot. But luckily, my playgroup don't run any except Evacuation and Balefire Dragon.
Depending on "multicolorness" of your spells, you might want to add Pillar of the Paruns.
Crystal Quarry fixes your mana pretty well in any 5-color build, cards that have similar effect: Composite Golem, Channel the Suns and Kaleidostone.
You can also add Terminal Moraine and Thawing Glaciers for some more fetching.
Murmuring Bosk is a nice wedge tri-land, that can go with other 3-lands from alara. Cheap creatures that can fix 3 colors are Skyshroud Elf (Naya) and Urborg Elf (GUB).
Another budget options (nonland tho) are Joiner Adept and Fellwar Stone.
Prismatic Omen shouldn't be too pricey too.
Also: Signets, Cameos, Talismans, Borderposts - the choice is yours.
Nah. Not for slivers. I might be wrong, but there don't seem to be enough multicolored ones to make Pillar OK.
Maybe you should build your mana base primarily around green. Green has the easiest time ramping and fixing the other colors - a Cultivate or a Shard Convergence and you're pretty much set for the next few turns. Some of the best early game slivers (Gemhide and Dormant, for example) in that color as well.
I really, really like this idea. The only problem is... that I won't always draw Gemhide and Dormant early-game. I'll give it some thought, because this idea looks solid.
Thanks for the help everyone ! If any of you got more suggestions, feel free to post !
Hey guys, Sliver Overlord is my general, and is the leader of my Sliver tribal deck. I'm having a lot of trouble with my current mana-base, but I really don't want to waste all my money on a casual deck (which means no ABUR lands or shocklands).
Hmm I just realised there's a blurry dark spot next to the U symbol on Jace's Phantasm. As if something was edited. Has this card been confirmed by multiple sources? I'm starting to doupt the legitimacy of said card.
So, should I wait before trading them? Do you expect its price to get any higher? Being a multi-format staple is kind of a big deal, isn't it?

What do you consider "worth the flip"?
And all three LGS I know sell the card for 25$. The only possible way to get 17$ Caverns is to import them from the USA. (I live in Canada)

You are correct. My mistake, I completly forgot that it was mythic (actually, I just didn't know lol) I will edit my post to reflect this statement.

It also will not be Damnation, Dark Confidant, Tarmogoyf or Force of Will.
Seriously, everyone. Stop thinking with your wallets.
Expect more realistic stuff like new Guildmages or new Signets. Besides, Guildmages are pretty awesome on their own.

I like these suggestions, I'll test some of them later maybe. I also happen to have Prismatic Omen, Harrow, Expedition Map and Sylvan Scrying in the deck.

Which means that Goblin Piker might not be in it. Those two were "confirmed" by the same source. Maybe it's still in, but we can't confirm it yet.
