Ajani is totally Standard playable. Its a good thing it comes in the mana ramp/swarm colours for maximum value. Elf, Sylvan, Ajani.
Sightless Brawler will totally see Standard play in WW.dec and even in the Naya Hexproof varient. Strong beater on curve that has late game play and pumps Ethereal Armour.
I reserve judgment on the Sage, although Ajani does get it 3/5 of the way there each turn. Might have a place in Bant Control although it seems most abusable in Simic. I doubt it will be viable as a combo piece in Standard though.
The rest will be great for Limited.
The power level of Theros is fine. Power creep needed to be reigned in and we still have had plenty of totally badass cards, including Legacy playables. The Limited format has been awesome as well.

It does not sound like this is a true love for the ages type deal, if it where it might well be worth it for both parties to try to work through this together. I have "friends" who have dealt or are dealing with hardcore addiction and were willing to stick it out so it is not always wrong to stay with an addict.
That said, this sounds like it is doomed and can only go bad or worse for "James." It is very likely best for both parties if it ends and ends soon.
At the very least "James" needs to be brought up to speed by you and girl needs to get into an inpatient program ASAP.
Oh, and there is nothing wrong with "chatting up" a new girl, he's not married nor is he in an honest or truly long term relationship. Maybe if he was banging both and lying about it you tell him he's being a jerk.
However, due to the fact that he is hanging with new girl, it does not sound like he is to serious about old girl, certainly not marry her serious. Time for all parties to move on, if old girl gets sober and James is single when she does (and stays sober) that's when they can see about rekindling the spark.
I would wait. I'm 36, 3 kids btw, with SO for 10 years. for whatever that is worth.

I would budget more then 100$, as mentioned. For a good price, consider shopping at estate shops. Don't think used, think vintage. A nice Deco Vintage gold band can be had for 300-500$ It is well worth the extra money.

They could just do a buyback program. Set the prices now, and have a program that allows people to sell their old RL cards back to WoTC. The hardcore players that have made the investment in the high price RL cards would be appeased and everyone else would be happy as the format opened up and a new one was created ("vintage masters" Limited).
On Journey to Nowhere, I don't think it is necessary since all your creatures are way stronger than any random aggro deck's creatures or MBC's creatures. It also costs 2 mana and is sorcery speed (compare how poor that is in relation to Galvanic Blast) while half your deck is already 2cc cards. I think you're better off drawing 4/4s or draw/cycle spells.
Serene Heart goes for 92 cents with major traders, and should not be difficult to find if you are willing to pay that. If you don't want to pay 3 mana for Tranquility, then maybe Leave No Trace is a suboptimal replacement for serene heart.
Krark-Clan Shaman is better than electrickery because it can do more damage (if you hold priority by holding the Control key while using his ability) you can customize his effect to what you need. Also playing one may alter an opponents playstyle, and he costs only one mana versus electrickery's two (and 2cc is very crowded in affinity). Electrickery is the better card versus fliers obviously so that's why some people opt for that.
And of course, playing and testing is a way better way to build sideboards than theorizing :). Have Fun!

Unicorn, just to keep options. Its not like we'll be crying over missing that Ray, and if we are it means this draft went wrong in more ways then one pick could fix.
So I've been having a hell of a time with the various MBC decks. Any advice? They just overwhelm with removal and tempo (Chittering Rats) and graveyard shenanigans. The Madness castable zombie in particular is a pain.
Why are people suggesting Pharika's Mender as a viable card? If we want a way to get back Whip, Obzedat's Aide is better and more versatle at the same CC, while Auramacer is cheaper. 5 mana is a lot for such a boring beater, I'd pretty much always prefer to be casting a bomb like BBoV or AAoT turn 5. Maybe if it put it onto the battle field.
I'm just sitting here staring at Triad. I'm betting that somewhere in this set they are going to make a creature that it can abuse the crap out of.....currently trying to find a way to abuse it....just can't think of anything at the moment.

The card that got me most pumped was gods willing. That card slots right in as a heroic enabler. It also plays well with nivix cyclops, guttersnipe and young pyromancer. Some version of nivix blitz will likely survive rotation.
