Hey so I haven't posed in here forever but I was wondering if any of you are gonna be at the GP this weekend. I will have my cube and will be at the site on Friday. I will be there with a couple of friends so lets see if we can get a draft going.

oops, I added in the 2 Ravines.

I dont really like bob in this deck because once we get loam or courser going we have enough card advantage. Also this deck does a lot of damage to itself because the color requirements are so demanding. I like Pack Rat because it is another way to get value with loam and it is a great way to turn cards that are dead in a certain match up into something useful. Bob would help the consistency a lot though.

I bring in Olivia for just about any creature deck and against certain jund builds. Admittedly, it could probably be something else but not sure what yet. Any suggestions?

So, I really like witness because in games two and three people bring in a lot of ways to mess with seismic assault, which is why I play 4, and being able to recur things that I have dredged away with loam is sweet. It is awkward sometimes which is why I only have one.

    Hello all

I have been lurking here for a bit and I though I should share my list

It plays more like a traditional Jund midrange list. At my local weekly modern tournament I always go 3-2 or 2-2 but the games are always close. I think the problem is that it is just a little inconsistent but there a plenty of games where an opponent just runs out of resources and cant compete. I feel like the card choices are fine its just adjusting the numbers. The sideboard could use some work but that depends on what is in the main deck.

What I like about this deck is that it can function without loam but obviously it is amazing once it has it. Any thoughts or suggestions?

So if everybody could keep writing articles and have something over the next week or so, that'd be grand Smile
I need somebody to figure out that base 360 list.
tReason, I PM'd you about the editing.
I'll finish the website over the next couple of days.

I was thinking that we should all just come together and try to work out what is a good start for people looking to get into cube. The problem is that we all have very different ideas as to how we structure our cubes, (hybrid, guild system, etc) what cards we include (banlist, or rares like painlands), and other things like what archetypes we support.

I was thinking that rather than fighting over these ideas we start with a cube that avoids all of that.

We should start with a cube that is very "plain". It is very strictly commons and uncommons as listed as gatherer. It follows a very simple multi color designation (meaning lands or signets do not count as a part of their respective guild) and it is meant to have a high power level rather than focusing on fringe archetypes.

The idea here is that if you come to the sight and start with the "plain" cube you can customize it based on the recommendations of our articles.

For example, if a new player starts with our base cube and after a few drafts they they think skullclamp might be too good. They can read an article about maintaining a banlist. The article will of course talk the general theory of why some cards should be banned and at the end would have specific recommendations as to what you should add/remove from the base cube.

This gives us a bunch of topics for discussion because it is basically all the fights we have had on the main C/Ube thread but with a practical application.

Of course not everyone will start with the "plain" cube or will the follow the exact recommendations but it gives a good guide line by providing specific examples.

Sorry for all the text but let me know what you all think of the idea.

Has anyone tried Drifter Il-Dal ?
Looks pretty good to me in an agressive blue deck.
Granted, it's not something you want to drop on turn 1, but it looks good to drop on turn 3/4 with another creature or counter/bounce up.

I tried it for a little but but never really liked it. In an aggressive deck it clearly doesnt fit on curve having to keep paying mana for it makes it awkward for a tempo deck. The biggest problem that I have found is that there aren't many good one and two drops to complement it which is why I dont really support blue aggro.

On the plus side it is awesome with equipment.

I feel like rescheduling is the best move here.

Yeah lets reschedule everyone seems really tentative anyways. Lets try to be more organized in the future

I may be interested in drafting online... though I don't know any of the details. Should I just read through this thread for them, or is it being cancelled?

Its rescheduled for now. If you look at the first post there is a google doc were everyone is putting the availability for future drafts (and podcasts if you're interest) please put your availability there and it will make things much easier next time.

Please do since it looks like we will be using yours. I think we should use draft.in but either way the cube has to be on tapped out.

Burn, are you talking about Mystical Teachings or Mystical Tutor?
I cut Teachings for Tutor, because although the latter is technically disadvantageous in that it doesn't put the card straight into your hand, one mana is just so much easier to keep open.
I would love to see a Simic draw-go deck with Ambush Viper and Wolfir Avenger using Teachings as the engine.
And the Briarbro's. That could actually be a deck. If only there were more Flash tutors.

LOL I was talking about Mystical Teachings. My bad! Tutor is much less atractive to me for all the standard reasons. I would sooner run enlightened tutor since artifacts and enchantments are among the most powerful cards in the cube.

Teachings is one of my favorite cards in the cube. It may not be the best in terms of strict card advantage but the ability to search for removal, finishers (capsize, sprout swarm) or card drawing (careful consideration, fact or fiction) is awesome.

It is also one of those cards that that can almost be built around in that it is so flexible. Too bad it cant search for another one of itself.

Hey so just want to make sure if we are confirmed for sunday.

    1. Oglor
    2. senamic
    3. leelue?
    4. browndog?
    5. palingensia
    6. Burn

There was also talk of maybe getting 8 if we do it on trice (which we will). Who would the other 2 be?

Would an 8-person on Cockatrice be better than a 6-person on MTGO?

...to be honest no but if it works better for everyone else then I will suck it up. On that note where can I get it? The main site says there a cease and desist.

I was thinking about collecting my cube on MTGO.

If I did this, that would mean that whenever we did an 8-man on tapped out, we could all play matches online. All we'd have to do is create our decks, invite me to a trade, take the cards and sideboard for your deck, and we can play custom matches. It sounds like a lot of work, but it could happen. Plus, if we did record, it would be fantastic for the website content if we had the MTGO interface for our matches.

I agree 100% with this. I have about half of my own cube (probably more) and the rest is pretty cheap. Would you be willing to split the rest? Cubing this way is not that much work its just a matter of making sure that everyone else has a mtgo account. For example I know Leelue does not have (nor want to get) a MTGO account so this may not always work.

    Quote from Oglor
That would defintely be better than Trice.
By the way, for Sunday, we're cubing on TappedOut and playing on Cockarrice, correct?

So there is http://drafts.in/ which actually requires a link to a list on tapped out. The difference is that it is way smoother (from what I hear) compared to tapped out which randomly freezes. I think that it is worth trying

Personally I would much rather play on MTGO as I dont want to deal with Trice. Admittedly it is matter of what is best logistically for everyone.

ok so it looks like we have 6 so far

    1. Oglor
    2. senamic
    3. leelue?
    4. browndog?
    5. palingensia
    6. Burn

Just want to confirm if 3pm PST is good with Leelue and Browndog. 1 or 2 more would be nice but I am good for a 6 man but if it becomes uneven for whatever reason I can get a friend to help us out.

Btw who's cube should we use?
