Mayor of Avabruck can definitely go, but I feel that the deck is already fast enough. Turn 5 I can get a Howl of the Nightpack out for 10 forests. I'll probably replace it with Sakura-tribe Elder and Sylvan Ranger.
I find nothing wrong with splashing into the extra colours for answers but I'd definitely advocate running a 4th lantern and a 3rd Liliana for consistency reasons. Double color requirents like obzedat should probably be avoided and if you are in white you have plenty of answers to enchantments like ray of dissolution without worrying about green.
A potentially worthwhile addition to your deck would be merciless eviction it's a bit expensive but it can permanently deal with many troubling board states.
The name for the deck should probably be 5 color black without the mono part.
I tried running the extra Liliana and Lantern, but I thought it was a bit much.
Green is the only color that can exile enchantments that I've found. Which I need for the gods.
I've got a merciless in the sideboard.
Hmm. Maybe. But it's pretty much mono black with splashes.
I've found that I can get the double white I need pretty consistently late in the game. I just can't get it early consistently.
I want it to be known that Pack Rat works with devotion. This is a fact and I have done plenty of research on it.
The main problem I've been having has been with Burning Earth. I really don't want to cut the colors and the only one I might cut (green) has my only answer to the enchantments in it.
Pieced together from spoiled cards. I believe the names to be correct and will now make a guess as to what each one represents.
WUEphara -God of Magic and Protection. WBAthreos - God of Borders, Passage, and Silence. Ferryman RWIroas - God of War, Honor, and Victory. GWKarametra - God of the Hearth, Family, Orphans, and Agriculture. UBPhenax - God of Deceit and Manipulation. URKeranos - Storms and Prophecy. GUKruphix - God of Time and Mystery. BRMogis - God of Slaughter, Wrath, and Fear. BGPharika - God of Poison, Potions, and Medicine. RGXenagos (?) - God of Revelry and Abandon.
Perhaps before Xenagos we had Pan? Pan went missing right? (Or was that only Percy Jackson?)
Orzhov is missing its hybrid spell. Most likely an X spell (correct me if I'm wrong, but all the guilds have a Rare/Mythic X spell)
Blue will get 1 drop Cipher
Red will get 1 drop bloodrush
What you guys are forgetting is that boardwipes are more popular in EDH than enchantment removal (at least where I am). They wipe the board and you get even more tokens next turn. I'd say that is rather good.
You would have to be insane to attempt Snapcaster Mage on Entreat the Angels. The other thing my deck does is shut down other control lists that rely on flashback. It actually shuts out a lot more of the meta than you would think.
Don't you mean putting Misthollow on the bottom of your library is counter productive. With Rest in Peace killing the griffin is not much more than a bounce spell.
Yeah. That is what I meant. Sorry for the confusion.
I see that, but I also see that putting Geralf's Messenger or a Gravecrawler in the graveyard is counterproductive. C'est la vie.
I agree with you though that the equipment isn't the best idea - yours is a control list with a longterm plan of sticky 3/3s, not a tempo plan that wants to pump them. You need room for answers.
Most of the time I'm exiling anyways. Speaking of which I might either go up to a 2/2 split of Rest in Peace with Tormod's Crypt sideboard. This deck is particularly effective against zombies because I don't tend to send stuff to the graveyard. More often than not I exile it and they get nothing while I get my griffins back.
Keep in mind that in my list Rest in Peace and Supreme Verdict means that I'm exiling instead of sending to the graveyard.
The Misthollow Griffin / Rest in Peace is fun, but they are still just 3/3's, you need some equipment to get them through. Trepenation Blade is cheeky but inconsistent. Find something to buff those Griffins.
In my experience when the board is locked down by Martial Law, its very easy for me to swing through with keyrunes and griffins.
Along with Master of the Wild Hunt and Wren's Run Packmaster that can fling death touch wolves around at stuff.

Edited.
Like Wizards said, this is a top-down set and this lion fits perfectly. Not sure what you people are whining about in regards to flavor.
