I've been cooking up a story-line style format based on all the events we know on Ravnica so far. Have a look at it here: "War for Ravnica: Rules & Narrative". Did I miss anything flavourwise? Can the format be improved? This game can be played with either 10 or 20 people, with one "Game Master" controlling the "middle area" (see the rules for information).
The basic premise is the game starts with the Guildpact in force, Guilds vie for power, Guild leaders and all. Planes were added for "home turf" flavour. Then Nicol Bolas' team steps in, Archenemy and all that. Once defeated, everyone "races" the Maze to win.

This is the first of many "formats" I'm writing up. The next one will probably for Mirrodin, Theros, etc (preferably planes which have more than one story-block).
I've recently decided to be a DM for my D&D group, and having such a long history with Magic, I wanted to bring some of that over. I found out about those "Power Cards" as well as "Fortune Cards" and I was wondering if there was a "magiccards.info" style website for those?
I was also hoping to customize some cards for my players. I've seen the work done by other D&D people but they're nowhere nearly as good as the custom frames here. If anyone remembers me I used to have a Sig Shop (do we still call those that?) and I can probably put something decent together. I was thinking Planeswalker style templates for the characters (probably needs to be spread across several cards), regular card frames for the equipments, etc. Maybe make custom "Plane" cards for the locations in Faerun?
I can't seem to find anyone else doing this, but if anyone knows, I'd love to know and check it out.
they've lied to us about Coldsnap, it's all part of marketing. i'd wager they either already know which of the two will be released, OR they're going to release BOTH!
http://io9.com/5426120/ thought i'd share, custom land cards were the first thing that came to find. there's clearly a lot of mountains, forests, and islands in there. the article linked above points to him as a possible inspiration for Avatar.
anyone has any idea if such a thing will become available?
i'm looking for a ultra pro -ish box and sleeves for my plane cards. no idea if this is the right place to post it but i guess...
are any available online? or is there a suitable alternative?
my guess is we'll be playing the part of planeswalker. then that "teleport" feature you see in games will make more sense (planeswalking?) after seeing those comics, you'd figure they'll try a proper computer-based game too.
Anyone know where the RSS feed for the Magic articles went?
so i'm not the only one who reads the feed. yeah the feed seems dead. imho removing the feed is a downgrade! where will i get my daily digest of official news? (i can't deign to manually visit the site everyday).
and i expected to see articles once i reached the website... it's far less intuitive now.
i'd buy the JvC.
but they said 8 rares? hm... but they mentioned they're all the best burn/counter frm MtG. so i guess no new cards with the Jace/Chandra subtype. they had better have Counterspell and Lightning Bolt.
i would actually be interested in buying those.
anyway, if it's a fake, when it usually is, they photoshop some art together.
so what art did they use for the alternate Ramirez dePietro
i watched the video until the end. and found two cards.
w/u has something to do with Arcanum Wings?
the black description of "jumps back into play" reminds me either of bridge from below or Living End.
the "Q:" mechanic MAY be the untap ability for w/g.

hm... if it is an equal set, it's still not divisible by 5.
it is however NOT a prime number: 3*3*83 courtesy of wikipedia.
the logo however is prettty cool.
middle "shard" in the splash logo is white... hm...
which reminds me: 5 colours? 5 planes?
Shandalar is back!
or has it something to do with the Shard of the Twelve Worlds?
