Ok still having an issue with my co-worker of this rule.

He is saying that since I declared my attacker phase I can’t respond to him tapping down my bloodline keeper by tapping him to make a creature.

Thanks for all the people that get back to me on this.

Need some help clearing things up over a friendly magic game that got out off hand because we both insisted we were right. Can you please post an official answer from the rules if you could? If not please explain the best and simplest way you can. So there is no issue.

So I declare my attack phase. He responds by using an activated ability on his creature that costs one white and for him to tap his creature to tap my creature. The target of his ability is my Bloodline keeper. In response to him tapping my bloodline keeper I tap him to put a 2/2 flying vampire into play.

This is where we disagree. He says that I can’t tap my creature since it’s already tapped from his creature. I said no since I was responding by activating bloodline keeper’s ability before he taps. He said I couldn’t respond to him tapping my creature.

So our next break is in 2 hours and would like to resolve this before then.

Thank you for all your help.

    Hello Icfr07,

When playing Delver it seems like they have me beat 1st game if they get a turn 3-4 giest in play and I don’t have board control of something out there to block. If I have a messenger in play along with another 2 power creature I seem able to hold my own. 2 of my friends play versions of Delver that helped me play test this deck and also help build this deck to where it is now.

I don’t have much of a sided board as of right now. Just been tossing things in and out as we go to try different things, but I do have 2 ratchet bombs and 3 slag storms that are in the side board as of right now.

I haven’t had many issues with humans at all. I have fast early creatures with burn back up like arc trail and gut shot that keep the board clear the first few turns. The deck comes out fast. There were many of games that we played tested that I won turn 3-4 or had the burn to finish them up on the following turn. I have to say Brimstone Volley is one of the MVP's in this deck. We only had 2 when we started play testing then took out sword of war and peace (very slow in this deck) for 2 more. That card ends games much faster the sword was.

I like to say I was playing mono red for the past 2 months or so and I think this comes out faster and can hold its ground better then mono red. The shine is a huge loss and adding black and it will be missed. But with gravecrawler being able to come back and the messenger with undying I feel I have more card advantage and have to rely on top decking as much as I did with mono red.

I do have to say that heartless summoning has been the hardest match so far. If I don’t come out fast enough I can win that match.

This is a deck my friends and I have been working on for me to play in Baltimore in 3 weeks. We have done tons and tons of play testing and have came up with a very fast deck. By combining the best of red deck wins with new cards such as Gravecrawler and Geralf's Messenger we made a very fun and competitive deck.

    Creatures:

    4x Gravecrawler
    4x Diregraf ghoul
    2x Grim Lavamancer
    4x Stormblood Berserker
    2x Torch Fiend
    4x Geralf's Messenger
    3x Falkenrath Aristocrat

    Instant spells:

    3x Gut Shot
    4x Incinerate
    4x Brimstone Volley

    Sorcery spells:

    4x Arc Trail

    Lands:

    3x Mountain
    11x Swamp
    4x Dragonskull summit
    4x Blackcleave cliffs

We are still working on the side board but have a few ideas based on what we seen from last weekend. Going to take it to some local stuff this weekend and next to test it out.

We also tested it with sword of war and peace but it seemed to slow the deck down. Looking at trying so other things over the next couple of days but feel like it is pretty much complete.

    What do you guys think?
We are looking to replace Grim Lavamancer. He is to slow if drawn early. Late game he might get in there for 2 or 4 damage before running out of cards in the graveyard.

At this point we have tried a few things from adding more burn to tragic slip and other removal spells but they seem to slow the deck down as well.

We are also think of maybe removing Torch Fiend since by the time you find and play him its already to late or you get him early and hold him in your hand so he doesn’t die before they play their sword or another artifact.

I would like to get some ideas flowing then be able to play this deck this weekend and have some feed back on how it did.

Thanks for any ideas or discussion.
