    So super conflicted,

do you guys sideboard out Dark Confidant against Affinity? Apparently Reid Duke says to keep them in, but man, I'm finding the digging deep for answers a problem with how fast they are a big problem

Lilianna is all but an edict for a 0 mana creature

    Thoughts?

Lilly is really bad, but the rest depends on your list. Bob can stay in, especially if you are running the lean version of jund, because it won't cost you much in life and it finds you extra cards.

I would be using terminate on baloth and elders, and trying to bolt the face. The reach is needed at times.

Against scapeshift having something like terminate feels sadly important to unfortunatly kill their sakura tribe elders so you are going to swing for damage and not waste a damage step.

Hey guys does anyone know where I can find a primer on sideboarding out cards vs. different archetypes? I know the sideboard for the deck is ridiculously wide.

Looking for advice on what I should be removing from my mainboard against Delver, Tron, Scapeshift, right now I'm using this list to much success:

Haven't run into a situation where I felt something was wrong or bad. Considering dropping one of the feed the clans to a second crumble and switching the main board finks to a courser, been topping events all week with it stock though.

I would say Abbot is pretty worthless in Jund. It just doesn't make sense and that card is not where we want to be in life.

As far as tournament finishes, Jund requires an expert pilot who understands the meta and can handle making last minute changes to the list. Most other decks don't have this issue and are locked into most of what their list typically is. I have at least 25 interchangable parts for Jund, and that's not just the sideboard.

It's a good deck, I typically win modern FNM. You have to know the field and know what you're doing. I play about 3 modern events a week, for each night my deck changes at least 3-4 cards.

Because it isn't an adjustment. Its you running 3 goyfs because you cannot obtain the 4th. It's a budget discussion. Stop discussing it here.

Making adjustments because you don't have a card is not allowed here.

Prove first before you say something that have even no basis on why it did become a budget discussion. Can you please define what is an adjustment? If it is not allowed to say that it is an adjustment, then why they didn't kicked me out here? And backread first before you judge my ideas here. I have read and joined this whole thread and the old thread since modern was established here in mtgsalvation. And I am already a modern player before Modern became a format. I've never heard that having 3 Goyfs is already a budget discussion. I have already acquired 3 now but in the near future I can get the last one. It seems that you hinder people from playing on what they prefer to play. Every player wants to be conpetitive with the cards they have in present and want to invest in the future. And it seems that the way you said that makes it less pleasant to new modern players out there.

i hate to dredge up someone else's argument, but i happened to notice this comment you made and it's important to the discussion to call you out on it, so that in the future the thread can be more focused.

    1) you said on multiple occasions that the only reason you aren't running a 4th goyf is because you aren't able to get one. i would quote your posts but they are easy enough to find in the last couple of pages.
    2) this implies that really, your actual intention would be to run the full playset but your circumstances don't allow it.

that's a budget issue, dude. not an adjustment.
an adjustment would be looking at the deck, the metagame and saying "you know, actually, taking a goyf out for this X replacement card would really improve certain matchups and consistency".

however that's not what you've been advocating. you've basically been saying "i'm running this suboptimal list because i can't find a 4th goyf, but i haven't had any issues so far" which is a very shaky standpoint to be making an argument from, in a competitive forum thread for a tier-1 deck. would you advocate to a Splinter Twin player running 3xsplinter twin instead of a full set? goyf is basically the spine of the deck.

as such, please keep budget discussion out of the competitive thread, just so we can keep the discussion focused on improving the deck to the best it can be, rather than advocating "making do" with 3x of the most critical card in the deck (which would be the opposite of a competitive argument)

First, I didn't brag anything about having 3 Goyfs in my list. I would never do that. Someone just asked about it. So I just made some ideas from there. Add to that, can I ask you if we are in the same LGS's metagame? Or are we in the same area? Here, Goyfs are really hard to find. I am not really into buying cards online and I am not here to discourage people to buy online. I didn't say anything like what you are interpreting with my ideas.

I just want to say, my meta here is really diverse. You can be paired-up with any tier-1 or tier-1.5 deck, or even rogue decks here. And people here can play around Goyfs. But decks with the most players are variants of Tron. Aside from having only 3 Goyfs because of availability, putting that aside, they are a little bit useless against Tron because of mainly Relic of Progenitus. I think my optimal list would be 3 Bobs, 3 Goyfs, 2 Tasigurs and 2 Fulminators. For me I think this improves my game 1's against Tron. Is this set-up can't still be called an adjustment?

Yes, I said I can't have my 4th Goyf, that is for the meantime, you can find that I said it. But can you also find that I did say that I can complete those?

I didn't really brought up discussions about budget issues. As all people here agreed, it depends on the meta we are playing with, and how our decks supposed to be build on that. Your judgement is based on what you saw and what you interpreted in my answers on the discussion, I think you have to ask first before you pinpoint me. The unfair part is that you are not on my shoes the moment you said that my list is suboptimal just because your perception of me having budget issues. Partly true, but overall, nope.

Just stop. You don't play only 3 Tarmogoyf because you could afford the 4th but don't feel like playing it. Playing with three instead of four of the best creature in the list is a budget issue. The end.

Would be highly against using this dragon in Jund against a grixis meta. Free losses...

Why does it feel like so many archetypes know what their 70-73 cards are and have 2 variables but Jund seems to constantly have people testing 10-15 cards at a time. I wish we had a universal list and some continuity. Everyone's ideas seem very far melded from something complete different and people can't seem to agree on a whole lot.

Seems like a more pressing matter than if some new 1 pump 2/1 chandra effect creature is worth playing.

Pia and Kiran Nalaar looks quite solid to me to say at least though its ability seems rather expensive but it could be worth of a try. I'm just not sure what would you play instead of it. Olivia Voldarenis too good imo to take it out for it and other creatures beside Huntmaster of the Fells are different cmc and you probably should play it instead of a 4 drop otherwise you're going to rise mana curve which isn't good.

My feeling is that Pia and Kiran Nalaar is likely better than Tasigur, Olivia, or Huntmaster. If your worry is that you're lacking a maindeck repeatable damage source, I would just play a Grim Lavamancer. It's just as vulnerable to removal as Olivia is, but at least it doesn't cost 4 mana. Pia/Kiran dominates the late game topdeck battle just as well as Olivia, so that's really what you're losing.

I'm not sure if this is serious or trolling at this point. Lingering Souls is still a real card..

Have to ask about a card that I saw being mentioned in the spoiler thread as potential card in decks like Jund and I have no strong opinion about it either way currently.

    Magmatic Insight

Kinda similar to Molten Vortex in that you have to discard lands card to get an effect. In this case it's drawing two cards.

Again, I can't see a deck that runs the best cards in the format running this card.

Why draw this card when we can draw a real card?

Hate to say it guys but Tainted Remedy seems like the type of card Tasi burn wants to have, not Jund (when did we ever care about lifegain? And as a 3 drop when is that ever going to have a positive effect that isn't mostly just responded to?)

On the other hand, I can see things like Molten Vortex permanently replacing Grim Lavamancer in lists, but even now Grim Lavamancer is rarely played and having to pitch a land instead of pitching something to lilly seems a little off in most situations.

I believe that Wizards lack of statement/making this a policy is proof positive that this was a knee-jerk reaction to a twitter mob. If they felt they were 100% in the right and doing this for the right reasons, they would have made this as public as possible.

The real problem is that a knee-jerk reaction was to ban someone over some twitter fanfare. If enough people raise hell will Wizards just start banning people? That was really heavy handed.

Anyone's thoughts on main decking fulminator mages in the current meta, I'm trying to prepare for go Oklahoma City, I know it's pretty far off, but as a grinder I'm trying to find the best mix for the maindeck.

A lot of lists are currently going for 2 fulminators instead of the scavenging oozes making it a 2/1 or 2/2 spread (fulminator/ooze). It all depends on the meta you are expecting. If Tron and Amulet Bloom are present, it's a very good choice as it gives you a chance to win game 1.

While Fulminator is a good card, when it's bad it's practically worthless. Jund taking chances to having plain 2/2's for 3 now? Seems awful. Get ghost quarters in the main and fulminators in the board.

Heading into a gp with a bobless version, my coffers are still trying to recover from the Tarmogoyf acquisition. Will definitely give them a go when I've saved more. For now, I'm running Olivia, Tasigur, Batterskull and Grim Lavamancer main deck to all try and grind some card advantage. I'm also doing that thing people don't like of sticking in Damnation and Anger main board. Want mainboard ways of dealing with Affinity and other creature aggro decks. Will post results if good.

Playing batterskulll in a format that was recently slightly warped by an artifact destruction spell seems like a really dangerous play

Let's not forget good 'ol Phyrexian Arena as Bob alternative. 1 turn slower and can't attack but much tougher to remove. If you want to go the Tasigur / Hellkite route this might be the right card engine for you.

I'm not sure this is the right time to start experimenting with cards that don't have an immediate impact on the board state with all this grixis delver floating around.

From my experience in those matchups Bob usually doesn't do much excpet being a great target for Electrolyze or Bolt.

Never really upset when bob eats a removal spell, one less I have to deal with elsewhere.
