Sorry if you have answered this before, but I just had a thought... If Derick uses his Moon stone to evolve Nidorino into Nidoking before he finishes leveling up and learning Toxic Spikes, does it mean he will not be able to?
I mean... Nidoking can't level up to learn Toxic Spikes....
Derick jumped a bit as the larger pokemon was knocked back and down onto its belly, being unable to get back up. He smiled a bit, returning her, "It's okay, you did your job Orra... let's wrap it up, King!" He throws another pokeball, and there is a flash, the Nidorino appearing.
(ooc: Quick question, if he evolves, will he no longer be able to learn Toxic Spikes? I mean, Derick DOES have a Moon Stone, and Nidoking doesn't learn Toxic Spikes I think...)
You reach the lab, which has luckily escaped relatively unscathed. You talk to Dr. Sarina Reley about retrieving the data and she tells you that if should be possible but it might take a little while. As you leave the Poke tool with them to get its data taken care of you're left with some time to kill.
What do you do?
Derick sighed, heading back out to kill some time, stopping by the pokemon center to rest his team a bit.
He looks around town a bit, and pauses upon seeing the gym, "Wow.... that... wow..." he spoke, the gilded gym impressing him somewhat, he heads inside a bit, maybe a battle would take his mind off things.
Bleh, life has been busy recently and my head has been full of sinus pressure and mush, so I think I am going to drop for this month... wasn't doing so hot anyway... Good Luck Everyone Else! =D
Derick quickly attempts to make his way to the research lab, preying that it hadn't been destroyed in the attack. Hoping his delay in getting here didn't ruin his chances of getting his data checked out. If it is there and the scientists are as well, he will tell them about his data he needs to unlock and attempt to get it off the PokeTool and analyzed.
She gives you another one of her wicked smiles and says "Let's just say that Virikas was... susceptible... to my particular set of skills. He treatened my interests here in Wisteria and so I sent him on to a more satisfying target... Crimson City." With that she gives you another smile and slinks off into the darkness of the gym.
What do you do next?
He blinked, "Hey, that doesn't..." she was gone, "... answer my question..." he sighed.
When the other trainer approached, he agreed, shaking his head a bit, feeling a bit let down. He thanks for the potion then heads out, starting to make his way towards Crimson City, feeling bummed out, he couldn't figure out how she did it. He quickly moved along.
King's horn pierced Ekans a second time. Able to take no more, Ekans collapsed and Liliana conceded defeat.
YOU WON!
Sea Star gained 6 exp.
King gained 7 exp.
Received pY 1000!
Received "Amethyst Badge" !
He smiles, hugging King before returning him, and then looking back up at the Gym leader, "Alright, now then... can you tell me what happened... how did you divert the dragon?" he asked, that was what this is all about.
(OOC: Sea Star now training towards Bubblebeam, King training towards Toxic Spikes now.)
He frowned, "Maybe, maybe not, did its job to free my pokemon, now end it before it can recover!" he ordered, watching, a bit worried for King, but hoping he can pull through still. King charged at the snake pokemon, horn down and ready to strike.
The Nidorino cried out as the bite cause a searing pain to shoot through the spiky poison type, both protected from the others venom due to typing. (Big Damage)
King thrashed about to try and get the snake off of him, swinging around till it could reach the snakes body, he kicks out with both legs.

After stepping into one of the gaudy Gym's side rings, Derick found a muscled trainer eagerly awaiting a challenge.
