I've taken a bit of a turn in my decks lately, having Affinity, Jund, and a couple flavours of Grixis built. That beings said, mono-Green Devotion is near and dear to my heart. I have it mostly foiled, so I'm looking for what the consensus best build(s) are so I can finish it up.
oh man, gnuhouse, this is absolutely beautiful. time for me to toss mine up now. its the basis of legacy affinity plus legacy tezzerator.
Thanks! The next step is to get the Legacy pieces. I haven't seen too many recent Legcay builds, but I know I need the UB artifact lands, Tezzeret, AoB, and Ancient Tomb.
Honestly, if you're not going to be playing with them between now and rotation, or beyond, get rid of them. I got rid of everything that's rotating other than the stuff for Atarka Red. This is what I did, ended up with about $600 in credit. That should keep my costs for BTZ to next to nothing
When I play Modern at my LGS I play with my Cranial Plating mat. I had it done through Inked Playmats when they had their last sale on. I play Affinity, so it fits.
Other than that, I usually just randomly pull a playmat tube out of my collection and surprise myself. I'm somewhere around 20 playmats ATM
I FINALLY managed to get my Modern Affinity deck foiled. I would post pictures, but one of my Ravagers is in the process of being upgraded to a Darksteel one, so as soon as it comes in I'll post
I took Atarka Red to a 4-5 finish at GP Toronto. Not impressive, I know, but I played it out. I wrote a tournament report here.
Over the day I four punts, one of which didn't really hurt me (playing creatures out of sequence to maximize damage), one which was epic (not resideboarding after I realized what my opponent was playing), one miscalculation in combat math, and one other that I can't remember off the top of my head. Atarka's Command was backbreaking when my opponent couldn't answer it or wasn't expecting it, and it was brutal on me as well (I played the mirror three times).
Finding info on GPs is fairly easy. PPTQs is a little tougher, just don't try to "Find a store near you". That takes you to Locator and it's cumbersome. GPTs, you have to use Locator. My suggestion is that you click on "Search Options" and narrow down the results to just GPTs.
I think markers should get his own thread so he doesn't make everyone else's pimp look so....well, unimpressive (especially those who post right after him!)
Here's the latest addition to my Affinity deck. Upgraded my foil Born of the Gods Springleaf Drums to Lorywn ones
I use Legion deckboxes. I double sleeve, KMC Perfect Fits inside either Dragon Shields or KMC Hyper Mattes, and they fit deck, sideboard, and divider. They also have enough room to fit a silica pack (I put them in with my foil decks)
I play with Unglued basics. I pretty much bought GP Toronto out of them a few years back and have played with them ever since.
Before that I was playing with Revised or Unlimited basics. Back in ZEN/SOM Standard I played Valakut so I was searching for lands constantly and white bordered lands made it easy.

Sideboard is now complete, need 3 more Opals and 1 Blinkmoth Nexus. Choke and Tempered Steel are flex cards (although now I need more Tempered Steels)
