My group loves Planechase EDH. The chaos makes it interesting, especially when you get on one of those planes that is horrible and no one can roll off of it.
One game I hit chaos on Horizon Boughs, which came up really early. The next turn I cast Aurelia, the Warleader, enchanted her with Destructive Urge, gave her double strike with Boros Charm and attacked away at my friends clear board. He was a very sad panda.
On the topic of this card, my Thromok EDH deck wants it bad.
People really dont see how broken it is without the errata?
I hope they do see how busted it is without it. Without errata I immediately saw (as discussed earlier in the thread):
T3: Marath
T4: Purphoros
GG due to infinite 0/0 elementals killing all of your opponents, and could happen earlier with fast mana. That is only one of many busted combos without errata.
It looks a bit clunky to me. Unless I have a global haste enabler, I can attack for the first time two turns after playing it. This gives the other players enough time to react to it (spot or artifact removal at first, then mass removal later). And you have to wait a turn for "full metalcraft in a single card", unlike with Precursor Golem where you get it right away.
Valid point. The thing I hate about Precursor Golem is when one gets blasted by a removal spell they all go. I guess each has its downside.
Maybe that's why it was printed in Innistrad, not MBS or ROE?
Valid point. I revise - I don't get the flavor of a Balefire Dragon, Moonveil Dragon or Withengar Unbound slipping, falling into a grave and biting it just because there is a fresh corpse in there.
As everyone said - it is a conditionally powerful card.
Yeah, but one of the cool things about this card is it recycles itself into your library.
Still, the flavor is awesome.

Creature wise I really like Moltensteel Dragon as it helps for the reasons you stated. Have you considered Moonveil Dragon or Hero of Bladehold? Also, levelers such as Student of Warfare and Transcendent Master are fun in my deck too.

I just don't get the flavor of a Blightsteel or Ulamog slipping, falling into a grave and biting it just because there is a fresh corpse in there.
