I'm thinking of making a pauper commander with riptide shapeshifter as the uncommon commander. I was gonna build a control shell abcs use him to pull out hand of emreakul or ulamogs crusher. I was wondering about other good creatures to put in. any ideas?

I generally let people proxy whatever they want as long as it fits a couple of rules, A. No money, prizes or bets are on the line, B. Tell me you have proxies before we sit down to play, C. No lands, and finally D. No "unfun" decks. I realize that last one is pretty broad, and really it want even on there till about a week ago when my buddies and I went to the local game shop, let a stranger use his proxies and found ourselves on the end of a ninety percent proxy sharuum deck that had a hard lock out by turn 7 despite all of us running artifact hate

Good call on the banlist, especially since one of the guys that plays is known for making a hole decks. We already agreed evoke costs would scale with your generals casting cost. Banking unblockable generals sounds like it might be a good idea though, otherwise cheap equipment could easily dish out the damage. I was also thinking about something like thirty life total and fifteen general damage to kill since generally speaking common cards are smaller. So either red or black for sure. Maybe grixis? The big 8/8 out transguild courier would let me make a five color if thats worth it....

Hey guys, i need some help/input from the community. My buddies and i got kind of tired of making new commander decks because of the money involved, so we agreed to make pauper commander decks. The rule is no rares or mythics, one uncommon as your commander and all commons in the deck plus normal edh rules. i wanted some input on what commander would be good. i was thinking about izzet guildmage, a mercenary or rebel maybe, something with ladfall or i dont know. let me know what you think of this deck format and any ideas for my uncommon commander.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback. I saw the other thread but it seemed like it had people with more specific ideas of commander they wanted and less specifics about their situations. sorry if I already screwed up. Also I have none of the standard "good stuff" in my deck. Two of the other guys understand layers and the stack, one guy gets all the mechanics and one guy has to reread every card regardless of how many times he has them it that day. I will put up my list in the list forum later when I have a chance and let you judge from there.

Ok guys, I have been lurking on this site for about four months now and I finally registered.... Because I need your help. I have years, like fifteen, of mtg experience, but only recently started edh/commander. I currently have a ghave token swarm toolbox and win almost every game in my play group. The one other ready good guy doesn't have much free time. In playing against a rafiq, a mimeo, the political puppets precon and the mirror precon. I am super bored with my deck, but can't decide which new one to start! I was looking at the reaper king for a bit, then jhiora, then kozilek, then vorinclex. As you can see I am jumping around a lot. I want a super fun casual general and deck that are fun to play and fun to play against, but still win lol. Any suggestions?
