Maro also said it was because as a whole Shadowmoor block (and Lorwyn/Shadowmoor block in general) wasn't the most popular and had ALOT more going on in it as well.
The idea is also a bit similar to Ravnica, where most of the races are non-native.
I do not recall having ever heard that, before. Where was that stated? I thought that all inhabitants of Ravnica were indigenous to that plane, while Mirrodin is the plane that has little indigenous life of its own.
Ravnica was a hot spot for planeswalker battles. In the old storyline when a planeswalker summons a creature they pull that creature from their plane to the plane the planeswalker is on are battling. If a planeswalker is defeated his/her summons get stuck on that plane, which is why Ravnica has so many different "races".
I wonder if this means that Wizards is considering bleeding Unearth type effects in to Red as a mainstay. If so, I would support the move whole-heatedly. A spark of life is short lived, but it is still life. Phoenixes are a great example of Red ability to temporarily bring creatures back from the graveyard. Basically, I'd love to see effects like Postmortem Lunge and Corpse Dance in Red, even if it just copies the creature instead of actually moving it from the graveyard to the field.
I think this just a variation on red new ability to make temporary copies.
Hmmm... it's a shame that the token creature is not colourless. Otherwise, I see no benefit to it being an artifact. It's pure flavor here with no crazy interactions that I can think of. Suddenly turning on metalcraft seems really weak. Otherwise, absolutely love the card. Red generals are doing some neat things these days.
I *really* like this design- he makes a cute tag-team with Arcum Dagsson.
Given this and all the cards from M15,
it's looking like they may have swapped things up,
and Red is now secondary in Artifact Support instead of White?
Red has alway had artifact support, granted most of it is sac.ing your own artifacts but it has been there.
I think it is more likely that the gods will remain the same BUT be in a servilely weakened states. Maybe we see a new RG god but i kinda doubt it (unless they do new god cards).
@Jenrik on your idea of a mythic forgotten Theroes: I see this as unlikely since its support to be "greek myth" world. In the same vain when we return to Innistrad I think it will still be "gothic horror" world.
I was thinking more of a spiritual time travel, sorta like how the pensive works in Harry potter (though through connecting with nature/your inner spirit).
Where did you get Sultai wanting to time travel? Also notice both have U in them, though you could argue that G believes in learning from the past (example: Serene Remembrance).
Annnnnd I'm glad to see the quote wasn't acting up just on me.
I really hate this set. Please get to the Ugin/Eldrazi/Sorin/Sarkhan ties. I'm here for that. no1curr for Tarkir/Khans/petty plane stuff.
Then you might wanna stop reading UR for awhile, since most of those are about world building and "slice of life" about that plane.
I really liked this story since Surrak is my favorite Khan. With all this attention to them, I wonder if femur will play a big part of the main storyline.
Yeah I figured they'd probably be that. I think I'll ignore the URs until some Ugin/Sarkhan info shows up on the Wiki (prob around the second and third sets since this one is introducing the plane overall). Not a big fan of Tarkir overall.
And thats no excuse for being rude. Wanna hear what I do when I don't care for a UR story? I just wait for next weeks or write down a constructive criticism of why I don't like said story. And while everyone has their option it very childish just to come on and say that you don't care about any of the Tarkir UR without the Ugin/Eldrazi/Sorin/Sarkhan related stuff. Honestly it seems like all your recent posts are all just bashing on how much you dislike Tarkir, we all get it by now you don't like Tarkir. If you really don't like this set maybe you should take a break from magic for the next year and stop posting negative unconstructive posts.
I am not pleased by this news, since the prerelease promo card is usually what influences my decision as to what faction I choose at a prerelease; i.e., I choose the faction that shall give me the promo card that is most appealing to me.
I do hope that WotC is not doing this with every set from now on, or I otherwise shall have great difficulty in choosing a faction at prerelease events, which may make me less likely to attend such events.
You kinda hit the point, they want people to pick a fraction based on what they want to play not what the promo is. Plus with 8 possible rates it isn't like this is even a given thing.

To help supporting red artifact cards...?

As far as we know they are not up and running yet.

Wasn't Sorin the one who forced them into a psychical form?
How are you getting the quotes to work?

Bear's Companion suggests the Sultai like to have bear fur.
