The End of an Era

    My next question would be why Sarkhan doesn't find himself more powerful when he "entered" the pre-Mending era?

    Because he still has a post Mending spark. Just because he was taken to pre-Mending era doesn't change that.

    I'm guessing if an old walker was somehow brought to the present by Ugins magic (like Sarkhan was brought to the past) they still have old walker level power.

    Plus we don't know who the planeswalker named "Sarkhan" who was on Alara and Zendikar is yet so we still don't understand 100% how Ugins Nexus time travel works. Maybe because of -magic reasons- certain part of the Khans timeline are preserved in this new Dragons timeline.

    One thing I never pieced together. If dragons are spawned from tempests then how do they become part of her brood. Do dragons in this region align themselves after "birth" or is there some kind of magical unspoken hanky panky going on?

    It has been said that the type of the dragon born is determined from the interaction between the storm and the terrain (and its intrinsic mana). So yes, they probably just align and accept the alpha male/female of the brood by instinct.

    The brood leader also seems to have some control/influence over the storms.

    ...Dromoka perches not twenty-five miles from here, and she summons more and more through the storms to her side. She doesn't just command the other dragons' obedience, she commands an army.

    Card like Rest in Peace, Dryad Militant, Thraben Heretic and Urgent Exorcism shows that some white aligned characters can dislike necromancy.

    Dragons wage wars amongst themselves as well as with the lesser races, the sooner they dealt with their respective lesser races the sooner they could start killing each other.

    Just like the clans.

    Better yet, enslave the lesser races to do their bidding. It's naive of Daghatar to believe that Dromoka could be trusted. What made he thinks that Dromoka would keep her promise of peace once the Abzan discards their ancestors? The ancestors are a powerful source of magic and wisdom of the clan, without them Dromoka can easily take out the Abzan Houses. There will be no equality, only servitude, is this how Daghatar wants his clan to live?

    Dromoka made a point of saying that she and the Azban share many of the same ideology, meaning most of the Azban culture and how the brood acts will align. I'm guessing thats how the other clans and brood make peace, realizing that they share many of the same beliefs.

    Daghatar should've lead the Abzan to fight to the last unit, knowing that Dromoka would soon die in the hands of other dragons. Better that, than an eternity of slavery.

    Where the h*ll did you get that idea? Nothing suggests that Dromoka and her brood would be picked off by another dragons. As far as Daghatar knew it was make peace or have all the Azban die (much like they did to Dromoka and her brood during the Khans timeline). The living can still remember their ancestors, but only if the Azban can still survive, which they can as a part of Dromoka brood.

    She did not SAY it, but she suggested it. Given her near invulnerability, her respect for Abzan survivability, and base on the flavor text of Hunt the Weak: "Dragons scorn the weak, even among their own kind." It's plenty implied that Dromoka takes pride is her ability to stay alive, how much respect do you think she has for the dead? Very little for her own kind and even less so for human, I'll say.

    I think thats just your interpretation of the character.

    Honesty I can understand Dromoka, dead should stay dead.

    And I really don't understand this "grrrr dragons are evil/ bad for Tarkir" deal is, when the clans where/are just as bad. They killed all the dragons in the Khans timeline. Only difference between them is the clans are the ones on the losing end in this new Dragons timeline, they decided to align with the dragons instead of being wiped out and from all hints to DTK the dragons agree to this peace. Heck for all we know the dragons tried to make peace with the khans when the dragons stormed dyed out in the Khans timeline and the clans killed them all anyways.

    Well we got Daghatars story and leaned a few things solid things;

    http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/uncharted-realms/no-end-and-no-beginning-2015-02-11

    -The storms are making more and more dragons and the brood leaders seem to be in control of them, looking like Ugin just generates the storms.
    -The dragons are sapient
    -The clans will become apart of the broods
    -The clans "lose" the emery color of the dragon broods

    Well we have a flavor reason why the clans lose a color;

    The biggest thing reason I think we will get a new Liliana card is out of the Lorwyn 5 she is the one with the fewest cards and then add that Liliana of the Dark Realms is a major flavor miss.

    I'm pretty sure that MaRo has addressed where Batman fits into the color pie before. He's white, splashing blue. I thought he had also noted that he displays a black persona to the world, but I can't find that tumblr post.

    He doesn't fit in red that well because he bends the rules because he believes that the system is flawed, not because he just wants to do his own thing to get revenge/justice.

    I do remember reading this as well.

    What makes Batman more WU is because Batman uses logic, order, detective skills as well as fear in his crime fighting. Fear is a weapon he uses but he is the worlds greatest detective in the dc universe as well wanting to change the world into a better place. Very WU.

    I wasn't using it to disprove she is a healer, using to disprove your idea that unable to heal someone lead to her spark igniting;

    Well I think her being healer before really makes sense. It's not that far-fetched to think that a dramatic event like loosing a loved one because her own capabilities as a healer were not enough, pushed her to the point where she wanted to acquire the knowledge to just bring back the dead which in turn also corrupted her.

    If that was the case why won't it trigger when her brother was cursed?

    IF the story we get takes place after Liliana is banished and she became a healer in that time I'm fine (and that dose make sense storywise) but making her a healer in her past shown in the comic when the only reference to it was she knew what herbs could help her brother (which someone else could have told her) is pretty weak IMO.

    And three of those origin stories were handled OUT OF HOUSE by Laura and Ari. I'm... wary that they might just dump all of that info in favor of bringing it in line with some other idea they have for the characters.

    I fear the something as well and I think we already have proof, no where in the Liliana comic I can remember ever hinting Liliana was a healer.

    Except thats not what happened. From the wiki;
    Liliana grew up on a plane under the thumb of her father, a general and ruler of the lands he fought for. Even at this stage in her life, she was a temptress and more often than not, didn't care a thing for the kind of reputation that sort of activity would spawn. This infuriated those her father had entrusted to watch her, but her antics did not change one bit. Her privileged life would come to an abrupt end, though, when her brother Josu suffered a horrible corruption at the hands of her father's enemies.

    As a test, perhaps as much to rein in the reckless girl, Lady Ana gave her the task of gathering the required roots to cure her brother. Unfortunately, she arrived too late, as her father's dark enemies had razed the groves where the Esis Tree had grown. She only learned of this fact when she encountered a strange man who claimed to be a supporter of her father. He offered his assistance, though he warned that her family would not want her to use his cure. She returned to the castle and despite the warnings of Lady Ana, she used the cure. Truly, it cured Josu of his affliction, but only at the cost of driving him insane and poisoning him anew. Since his condition had been wrought by Liliana's hands, she was cast from her home to wander.

    We already know Ajani's backstory.

    We already know 3 out of the 5 though and one is the poster boy.
    We already know Jace's. He ascended while practicing with illusion magic under the tutelage of Alhammarrat when he was just a student.
    Chandra's activated under the threat of execution during the time her village was burnt to the ground due to her misuse of power.
    Gideon's was activated while meditating after a brutal battle against a powerful opponent.
    Nissa and Liliana's are the only ones we don't know, it is stated Nissa's activated when she was very young but not explained how.
    EDIT: Had to edit this cause people are stating Ajani wasn't chosen because of his known origin.

    We also know Lilianas and Nissias backstories as well, though we never leaned how Liliana ascended.

    I also agree Tamiyo would have fit better then Jace.
