Ok, according to Doug's Tumblr, next week we'll be getting a Tarkir story wrap-up with a "special treat" included? Wonder what that is. And then "far-flung" stories from around the Multiverse until Magic Origins stories begin. Any ideas about what this could all entail?

My guess is that next week they go to Atarka lands, find the records the shamans kept on Sarkhan and then Ugin sits all the dragonlords down and puts Sarkhan in charge of the plane. As for far-flung stories: Jace looking for Chandra, Chandra looking for Ramaz, Kiora versus Thasa, Ajani versus Heliod, Sorin looking for Nahiri, Sliver situation on Shandalar, "meanwhile on New Phyrexia", and Ob Nixilis collects more flowers. The Kiora and the Sorin bits definitely need to be resolved before BFZ.

The "special treat" will be an explaination on how Sarkhan went back in time. Ugin seemed pretty confused as to how he would send him back so there's only one other logical explaination, Teferi flying a rebuilt Weatherlight. Seriously WotC, it's about time we found out what happened to Teferi, Jhoira, and Jodah.

The Sorin Nahiri plot could be a plot point in BFZ.

I agree the "special treat" will time travel explaining some, I thinking we will find out who is the "Sarkhan" that was on Jund/Zendikar/slave to Bolas *coughNarsetcough*.

I do wonder, though, where we're going next. Magic Origins doesn't release until this Summer. The Tarkir story seems to be pretty much wrapped up at this point. I'm sure this is the last we will see of Sarkhan for a while. We've caught up with all of the ex-khans by now. What's left?

Slice of life for humanoids on Tarkir I assume.

No story I just know that one of Lilians deals with the demons was for enternal youth since she her age started catching up with her. If you want more info I'd suggest asking Barinellos.

Well I liked that we retunred to the main storyline the story felt so rushed the part where
    Sarkhan met the new Narset

could have been its own story.

I enjoyed the story, but one thing bothers me. If Surrak primarily fights with his fists and "had never needed [a weapon]", why does his card depict him wielding dual swords?

To skin and cut the meat they hunt maybe?

The point is more that Sorin would no longer be "the vampire planeswalker" and I think WotC likes having their characters be easily identified in that way. I might be wrong in this assumption, but I think there are significantly more ways for Sorin to have angered Nahiri than turning her in to a vampire, and a similar number of options for her to have achieved an extended lifespan. I'm not even sure she needs one, as I don't believe we've gotten a good hold on how long ago the Mending was.

Dosn't matter if the Mending was only a couple of years before the storyline Nahiri would be 6040+ years old in the present and we know that the oldwalkers ages caught up with them, which why Liliana made her deals with the demon and Bolas involment in Alara.

I think it would be cool if Liliana's first planeswalk plane would have one of her demons, maybe even the last one as some sort of foreshadowing/teaser to her story arc.

This would tie in nicely for when we return to Lilians storyline.

I actually enjoyed Tarkir's story more than Theros, but that's not saying much. It certainly is an improvement from last block.

I want storybooks back. Too bad Wizards fired too many people in Creative. I personally believe it's the lack of manpower to do write one than any excuses they came up with.

I think its the fact the book where failing to make a profit that made it worth writing them.

I like to see hybrid commanders since we haven't had any legendary hybrid creatures before.

except for Rhys the redeemed Sapling of Colfenor, Sygg, river cutthroat, Rosheen Meanderer and Wort, the raidmother?

    Wow totally missed those.

I agree that 4-color is an obvious hole, but I discarded it because of one thing: the need to design 3 legends of 4 colors. Maro has said many times how hard it is to design a 4-color creature; designing 3 of them to be commanders or alternate commanders seems insurmountable.

They don't need to. The fact that all the previous Commander products have had two additional alternate commanders doesn't mean that is set in stone. In fact, Built From Scratch had 3 alternate commanders plus Daretti. In all previous Commander decks they've created only two new Commanders of the appropriate colour identity, so why can't this be the tradition they continue in a 4-colour product? Looking at the total number of potential Commanders is only one way of looking at it, and now that they aren't making oversized cards for the alternates it's an even less obvious perspective.

Built from Scratch only had 2 alternate commanders. Tuktuk is technically legendary, but he was not an alternate commander.

Bosh, Iron Golem is the alternate commander.

    The planeswalker guilde has this;

    Clan Values

Silumgar's clan values power. For clan members, knowledge is power, so they are exceedingly clever; like the Jeskai, they hold themselves as, and take pride in, being the best educated of the clans of Tarkir. They scour the land for fragments of lost scrolls and lore. Clan necromancers order their zombie hordes to raid Jeskai temples and carry back any items of worth for Silumgar's clerics to decipher.

And it also mentions Silumgar love to plot and so far he has figured out and stopped every plot to assasinate/over throw/manipulate him.

If I rememebr right, the Theros e-book came out a little before game day, so I'm guessing next week we will get the Surrak story and then the Wednesday before gameday we will get the last part of Sarkhans story.

It bascally comes to whether you like reading the story in one go or have it spread out along several weeks as the sets come out. Personally I like having the set come out and have the whole "set" story coming out with it. Also with the two set blocks, we will problility get more "grand story" since thier will be less Uncharted Relemes per block to tell the whole story.

And for the ending, almost every plane since I have started playing has kinda been left open ended for a return. Alara is reborn but the shards are still waring with each other, the eldrazi where freeded on Zendikar, Koth is still trying to save new phyrexia and Theros has the mortals rejecting the gods and Elsepth is in the underworld (and looks like she has crafed a returned mask). And even though Innistrad and Ravnica endings where somewhat open ended for a return.

Here's a weird thought: Could Gideon be the son of Heliod? They both share an certain indestructibility about them, We know that Gideon's father wasn't around when Gideon was born and there is an entire trope of being the heroic offspring of deity common in Greek myth that Theros never hit.

I've read a similar theory. I think it's possible personally and can't wait to see. Gideon as Theors Heracles! Would be neat.

Creative has already said that the Theros gods don't have childern with mortals. Anything "born" from the gods are the Nyx born.

GW killing someone isn't that are to believe. The Dromoka have the big no necromancy law. You break it you die, a very white thing. Green believes in the food chain system, so the dragons being "higher up" as the alpha predators also makes since. The WU dragons killing also seems to follow the whites rule system, you believe in Ojutai teachings or you die.

Honesty I'm happy with most of the broods being differnt interupations of the ally colors. Just because somethings GW dosn't mean it has to act like Selesnya does.
