    I wonder how Bolas will react when he finds out that he inadvertently jeopardized one of his own schemes by doing what he did to Jace.

    It might be Bolas first real "loss". While our heroes have stopped or altered parts of his plans they never stopped his plans;

    Alara- While Ajani drove him off, he still got his recharge from the conflux.

    Zendikar- Unleshed the Eldrazi to see if any threats arise to an muti-planar threat arises. Thanks to Ugin the gatewatch stopped the eldrazi but the art book implies Bolas isn't to worried about Ugin at this moment.

    Kaladesh (and most likely Phyrexia)- Have Tezzeret find and build him a planar portal. Gatewatch stopped the hugeness in Kaladesh but its comfier Tezzeret took the core to Bolas.

    Amonkhet- Samut, Djeru and the rest of the survivors helped save Hazoret and kill the Scorpion God. Rest went as planed.

    I'm just glad I am (maybe) right and Alacazotz is more important then the flavor on a one-off card.
    Oh heck yeah. Aclazotz, the bat-god of night, the eternal enemy of the threefold sun. That seems important. Especially when the vampires refer to one of their beliefs as 'The Sinking Sun' and Elenda was 'blessed by the night itself'.

    I just love even more how it interlocks the Ixalan elements. While the vampire conquistadors on a bit on the nose, the added use of Mesoamericans having a bat gods of night/darkness to connect it all add a nice layer.

    I'm glad for this card simply cause I was hoping to see some self-parody/joking of the main magic canon. Those they could give it the type "actor", "performer" "player" "bard" "auteur" etc.

    During RtR I asked one of my friends, like, why don't Wizards make guild watermarks a part of the gameplay? They have better ways to keep guild themes, he said - through the mechanics and card synergy.
    Now they finally did it. And you know, this feels SO normal - almost like any regular set that relies on card types, colors or printed mechanics.
    Dare I say it looks... Unfunny?

    I wished the same thing since it would let different faction sets have cards that work for all of them (Mirrodin, Ravnica, Tarkir etc) but the issues comes with reprints and promos. For example during RtR block standard could I use Tower Drake from Invasion and still get the watermark effect? Or is it fair my copies of promo Mayor of Avabruck get a boost when my other normal copies don't? What if a card is good and is needed to be reprinted in different sets and thus has different watermarks?

    This falls into the space of set symbols, rarity and artists the other unsets played, features of the card they for reasons can't use in black boarder.

    EDIT: I missed a big one, you can't get any of the effects for watermarks in this set for the Future Sight copies of Steamflogger Boss.

    I love the idea of using watermarks for faction sets like this. Very clever to not have to give each fraction its own mechanic.

    Has MaRo and the rest of R&D finally realized that Unsets could serve as a fun (and profitable) live beta to test out radical ideas instead of potty jokes and half mana? I hope so.

    ...they always have;

    The third Un- set would be an experimental design that did what Un- sets do best: test out the future. Remember that many Magic innovations—from full-art lands to creature tokens to multiplayer cards to split cards to the meld mechanic to the forecast mechanic to the Pact cycle—came about because the Un- sets pushed new boundaries that later ended up being fruitful space for Standard-legal black-border sets.

    Alot of people are saying Ugin was in stasis when the Immortal Sun was taken because it was about 800 years ago, but and this is one BIG BUT here, if the multiverse work at least partially like our own Universe, then it's possible that 800 years ago in Ixalan wasn't 800 years ago in Tarkir, which means that maybe, the Immortal Sun was taken to Ixalan BEFORE our boy Ugin got himself in a coma.

    To avoid this creative has said all planes have the same flow of time. While some has different ways tell time, (Ravnica has a slight different calendar set up and Mirrdoin and Amonkhet having more then one sun means days are slightly different to them to us) "one hour" worth of time on Ravnica is one hour worth of time on Theros etc. and creative tends have them all sync for timelines.

    Isn't that the point of the spoiler so we can speculate?

    If summer and public response was any indication people are tired of them slow rolling sets out like this. The fact wizards is now going back on what they said they'd do (just give us a good portion of the set instead of individual spoiled "rare" highlight cards rolling into a full spoiler) and are returning to the same old wizards tropes is probably going to engender some less than positive feelings across the community.

    When did they changed how they are doing spoilers?

    They didn't apparently. This started from twitter during the summer when they were bouncing back from the early leaks to Ixalan and did the spoilers for Iconic Masters around Hascon. Basically, they said they are "trying something different" with spoilers when it came to Iconic masters, and since people reacted somewhat positively to it they would consider changing them for the future. There was a hypothesis that they did this in order to beat a potential leak on the set that would have happened anyway, but either way this feels bad. Essentially, they chose their words politically to make people all smiley faced and then left themselves with a back door should someone try to fish out the old stuff to hang them with it later.

    I'm sorry but thats more on you. Wizards tried something out and didn't say for sure if that was case going forward.

    and it turns out we are getting a different spoiler season anyways;

    So Huntmaster of the fells suddenly wanted to be a woman? That´s kinda weird to me to be honest

    Why is it weird exactly? It's not a legandary creature, so we can assume there are many huntmasters, both men and women

    Sure but then make new cards. I don´t mind new artworks but for me it make sense to keep the gender and face and not totally redo it. You don´t see Wonder Woman turn into a man either

    Where you this upset over Meddling Mage, Elvish Piper, etc? Wizards changes the gender in the art of the non-legendary creatures now and then.

    You trying to use Wonder Woman falls flat cause 1) Wonder Woman would be a legendary creature not a one of serve like the favor of non-legendary creatures and 2) there have been a few storylines that have had a male wonder woman. Their is a DC world where everyone is gender bent.

    LOVE the new hunt master wow! Love she mimics the wolf token she makes. All the new art is great, thought I'm kinda sad the new Garruk art isn't set on Innistrad.

    IMO Arguel's Blod Fast is the worst card from the bunch.

    I really like that this one incorporates the wolf token.

    Same I always thought it was a bit of a flavor fail that the old art showed the huntmaster with a wolf pelt, looking like a wolf hunter and not a wolf summoner.

    But, I don't understand why they changed his gender...and frankly, this art as awesome as it is, feels too similar to a color palette swapped Selvala, Heart of the Wilds

    My first thought is simply Huntmaster is title and is rather gender neutral (much in the vain of female gods in magic not being called goddess). I don't think its the biggest deal TBH, the art is awesome and not like we haven't seen plenty of female werewolves on Innistrad before.

    The Telepath who can break minds*

    *In MTG you can literally kill things with Telepathy, Laquastas did it in Judgement, the fact that Jace can't use his Illusions on Dinosaurs is bullcrap to begin with.
    Jace has killed people with his telepathy, but not his illusions. So you're mad because he doesn't use his illusions in a deadly manner? Not all magic is used the same way or at the same level, just because some illusionist can make illusions so real that they can physically harm people doesn't mean its inherent to every illusionist.

    No I am angry that for some dumb reason the super powerful Telepath who can alter perceptions of sight and sound can't manage to trick a Dinosaurs nose, it was acceptable on Innistrad cause they were rage-beasts who didn't have much of a mind to really screw with, but Jace should at least be able to flip the "Flight" part of the fight and flight instinct, I am angry that yes Jace has killed people with his telepathy and now doesn't because the plot demands him not to so that Hualti can play The DinoWhisperer.

    ...so your upset over something you think is going to happen or did I miss something in the stories?
