Well, the purpose of this card would be to cast a giant Banefire as follow-up or so. Unless you clutter you deck with fatties which are dead draws most of the time or have a decent mana sink on the board, it restricts you pretty much and you have a nice legendary vanilla.

why is this one mythic ?
why do i have to pay extra mana for vigilance and deathtouch, when it is mythic ??? SERIOUSLY ?!

That's a good observation. At mythic, and given the color requirements in comparison of P/T, it could have had at least the abilities "for free" and afterlife as a good bonus.

That would be fun if it would also gain the generic keywords of the creature revealed, like trample, flying, first/double strike and so on. Getting a random vanilla with horrible base stats for 4CMC at rare isn't really exciting otherwise.

I'm pretty sure they banked on popularity of the Ravnica brand in order to get lazy with the mechanics. Because up to now the keywords of this set are either regurgitated older abilities or plain dumb effects.

I hate these cards in those overpriced sets. This is completely useless in limited at rare, especially with the new rule legend. It's just there because it costs a bit and is used in some decks.

I'm not interested in that product at all, but reading this thread opened my eyes on how busted the secondary market is. I suppose it's because of Commander and the reserved list, but I really don't see how they can manage to attract new players and keep them in the game once they suffer their first standard rotation, try to fall back on Modern or EDH, look at their bank account and the potential return (store credits? boosters?) and go away.

Were you OP looking for something like this:

    Ornery Goblin > Goblin Piker

Same rarity, P/T and creatures types.

Ornery Goblin has trigger that allows for better combat if you control it.

Well, because of the RL, Commander has become so expensive that in my LGS, only the Elder Gods still play it. Newcomers come with their "tuned" pre-cons (meaning, they just crammed in a couple of cards they got from the last few drafts), get trampled in a laid-back, relaxing atmosphere, and never come back. Not certain a commander league would change that much, since it would anyway increase the competitiveness.

I mainly play at home doing sealed decks with a buddy every now and then so for me it's a good move at first glance, but!

    - I don't go much to the LGS because it takes more time, you inevitably get paired against the bro/spike/pro-wannabe who doesn't understand an FNM is there to wind down after a long week of work and shouldn't be compared to the finals of a Pro Tour
    - If all people like me begin to buy directly from Amazon and not an LGS, it might undermine a lot of them which will make the local player base disappear
    - It would mean less tournaments and less people going in the game, losing even more visibility
    - Without LGS, getting new players in the paper game is very difficult, jeopardizing the future of the game
    - No more sealded decks at home with the pal

In short, I'm not certain my 5- minutes, armchair economist analysis is correct, but I don't think it's a good move for the game.

Dimir seems strong, but Selesnya can go big quickly with Convoke. Don't know for Boros and Golgari seems the worse, except you have access to black removal. Izzet would seem rather powerful if you can set up the spell matters theme with the defender creatures and Faerie Aeronauts etc.

    My choice would be then:

    Dimir
    Izzet
    Selesnya
    Boros
    Golgari

Dimir all the way for the first PR. Golgari seems again a miss, and maybe Boros or Selesnya for the second PR.

Damn, Kraul Harpooner isn't bad at all, even if you don't have a target a 3/2 for 2CMC is good. Undercity Revolt can be very strong for a common, maybe? Take out their best one with your useless 1/1 token and send even your worst creature as a removal on legs. Can be very useful to break stalemates.

The troll has me mixed, it requires constant feeding, which can be irregular in limited, but you'd keep it for the mid-game I suppose, since even recursive cards can't help due to the exile clause.

So you can name lands? Interesting, even if it's up to four cards you can potentially shut down some decks.

That's quite a limited beater. A 5/5 for 6CMC isn't bad, but the mass ping ability is absolutely awesome.
As said, give it deathtouch and you have a 5/5 vigilance Plague Wind. Very strong card.
