Two new common zombies that might fit into zombie decks:
Skinned Drake 2U
Creature - Zombie Drake
Flying
~ can block only creatures with flying.
Illus. Kev Walker #73/244 2/3
Two drop and weakness to fliers are two problems current zombies have. Neither are these are huge, but fill holes.
Butcher Ghoul is a great Sac Target/Chump Blocker.
Skinned Drake can fight Spirits while a little evasion to try to punch through the last couple of points of damage
Turn 1: Champion
Turn 2: Mauler linked to champion - swing four
Turn 3: Silverblade linked to Champion, relink mauler to Silverblade - swing twelve
This doesn't work. Mauler is locked into the Champion on Turn 3.
You have no valid target for soulbound to bind with. A creature has to leave battlefield to break the bound
The play would be:
Turn 1: Champion
Turn 2: Mauler - No link, swing for 2
Turn 3 Silverblade linked to Mauler - Swing for 11
2G
Creature - Human Druid
: Add three mana of any one color to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to cast creature spells.
Illus. Steve Argyle #194/244 0/1
Can you say hello turn 3!!!! Primeval Titan?
T1 Land, Birds
T2 Land, Somberwald Sage
T3 Land, Primeval Titan -> Tapped Land -> Tapped Land (1 unused mana still)
When you start turn 4 you are going to have an untapped titan with 5 land, plus 4 mana in creatures before land drop even.
If Titan fetches Kessig Wolf Run and a Red, you could easily swing for 10 with trample on Turn 4. You would still have 3 creature mana left to cast as well.
The Cavern as your land drop on T2 or T3 would allow you to make the titan uncounterable.
Green could get nasty with this if not instantly answered.
What is the ruling on Soulbound to an inkmoth?
You activate inkmoth and then cast this. They both get +4/+4 and inkmoth hits for 5.
What happens at end of turn? The creature didn't die or leave battlefield loses creature type.
1WW
Flying
When enter the battlefield, return permanent you control to your hand

So now we are just getting flooded with decent white 3 cmc drops.
This plays well with O-Ring, Fiend Hunter and Blade Splicer. (Also mentioned as a Snapcaster Friend.)
It's interesting to try in UB zombies. All the previous blink effects were white so unplayable there. But this fits kinda well with almost every card in the deck and saving zombies from exile cards is huge too.
I like your thoughts on this.
Attack with undead Geralf's messenger (+1/+1)
Cast Ghostly Flicker, Messenger comes back still tapped, does two damage and loses the counter for another round of undying.
An interesting take on this would be werewolves.
Your deck would share creature types, and NOT casting a werewolf into battle would cause it to flip first turn. Or, you can still cast a spell in your hand for and not cause flip.
The last line about putting it on bottom of the library, is that only if it's a creature sharing type or all other cards? If it's all other cards, your draws are dead except creatures.
Tell me if I am right about Soulbond in these situations.
1. If a new creature enters the battlefield under your control, (lets say Giest's Angel token), and Silverblade Paladin is currently paired with Giest, you Cannot switch the pair over to the Angel token.
2. If you control a Soulbond creature, but it isn't currently paired (lets say the original paired creature was destroyed), and a Soulbond creature enters the battlefield under your control (lets say Tandem Lookout), they may not both pair with each other. Only 1 pair may be established.
3. If you control a Soulbond creature (Silverblade Paladin), and it is currently unpaired, and another Soulbond creature enters the battlefield under your control (Tandem Lookout), and it pairs with a different creature (Giest of St. Traft), then Silverblade Paladin may not pair with either Tandem Lookout or Giest of St. Traft.
Basically for questions 2 and 3, I want to know if having two instances of Soulbond on the stack, both attempting to make a the same pair, or at least part of the pair, will cause one effect to fizzle.
1) Correct
2) False
3) Correct
Exact text from card:
You may pair this creature with another unpaired creature when either enters the battlefield
The direct language says that as ETB affect, any creature can pair with an unpaired creature if either has soulbound. One of the two creatures must have entered the battlefield to trigger soulbound. Not sure on example 3 which creature would end up paired. I'd assume the lookout's ETB would get first priority. The Geist never triggers it since it was already on the battlefield. However, you could soulbound the Geist's angel when Geist attacks.
Now a Mirran Crusader equipped with a Moonsilver Spear is going to create two angels, right? Or does doublestrike only count as one attack?
Silverblade Paladin is another creature causing doublestrike to ask about.
I'm going to use atleast 2 in BW tokens. Probably go 2 & 3 split with Hero of Bladehold, just not sure which way is 2 vs 3.
The anthem affect makes those tokens a little bigger.
This also really messes with Zombies and Pods in the current game not counting being a flier.
BW Tokens today = 4 Intangible Virtue and 4 Honor of the Pure.
Going forward = 3 Intangible Virtue, 3 Angel of Jubilation and 4 Honor of the Pure.
This feels like it has a lot of value in infect decks. Black and UB both run a lot of creatures that are weak to single damage. This brings them back bigger. Also reacts favorably with Livewire lash. And lets you protect one against board sweepers.
What other cards in your hand also matter.
If you have corrupted resolves instead of mana leaks, you need to push for first poison counter.
If you have Tezzeret's Gambit, you want to feed the poliferate coming.
If you've got a livewire lash, go for the other creature for more targets.
Saving it for Doom blade not normaly necessary, that early, very few creatures drop and do enough damage on turn two that you can't kill on turn 3. Chandra's phoenix
Skinned Drake 2U

I think what he means is cast a second Vexing Devil and then a Postmortem lunge. That would equal 12 with you taking two life for the lunge.

This seams like a partner with Zombies who lack fliers.
