I'd rather play the control MIRROR than anything else... except maybe dredge.

If the only decks possible were creatures smashing into each other, i'd probably stop playing to be honest.

These guys recentely opened shop http://tokyomtg.com/ and given the size of the market, I would say that almost saturates it? IDK, as others said its super niche.

I'd say SaitoCardShop saturates the market a bit more.

Foreign cards are incredibly niche and hard to move. Like others have said, it would be better to set up an eBay store than an online shop you're hosting yourself.

If you're looking for truly Mint cards, you're going to have an incredibly hard time. There is a reason stores only grade to Near Mint.

HOLD. As others have said, Liliana is a staple of all the eternal formats, whether or not she's in a lot of decks, the ones that do run her are rather popular.

I'm going to be picking up every single copy I can from people that only play type 2 at my lgs. She is the only planeswalker that sees comparable play to Jace, the Mind Sculptor, and look at her price right now while seeing fairly little t2 play.

I was going to mention Jund being psychotically good, but then I remembered most of it is rotating.

Esper and Grixis control look so good now.

edit: People excited about just playing Darksteel Pendant confuse me.

The thing is though, it doesn't cost any mana to scry. One mana a turn is a lot of mana, 0 is not.

This has an incredibly low opportunity cost, and two additional upsides to the scry. If they make a decent Ophidian, I could see it become a real deck again.

The first change I'm making is to cut one Aetherling. It may just be a small sample size, but I draw them way too often. I might go deep and try out a Dinrova Horror.

I play lands in front. Another player at my LGS does as well, I appreciate being able to see what lands he has. Plus, I'm not a fan of the whole "red zone" thing, either. Creatures are icky.

  • posted a message on Magic The Gathering - is it a bad thing?
Most of the time I'm not working I spend on magic. since I usually spend down time at work reading magic articles and brewing lists I probably spend about 20 hours thinking about or playing magic on top of my 40 hour work week.

Considering most of my friends I've met through magic, its usually what we do when we hang out anyway.

The list I'm playing this is as follows:

This is not a Mutavault deck. Nor is it a Quirion Dryad deck. Both of those are for much more aggressive decks than control.

I don't think this is a tap-out control deck at all. Suggesting Divination over both Think Twice and Opportunity is possibly borderline psychotic. Especially in a Drownyard deck that wants you to hold up 4 mana almost constantly. Think twice is always better than Divination since it doesn't take your entire turn to cast it, and by the time it won't take your turn, Opportunity is straight better.

Onto Farseek. I've played BUG this standard since RtR came out, and I've been constantly disappointed with it. For one, its a sorcery that doesn't do anything to the board state. Two, we don't run any 4-drops outside of Jace to accelerate into unlike Jund. Three, past turn 4, its basically a dead draw, which is when we want to start taking over the game. Finally, it doesn't draw a card.

I would also never play less than two Drownyards. They provide a clock that allows us to always keep mana open.

Barter in Blood and Gaze of Granite have been absolutely amazing. That being said, I dont want more than one Gaze in my maindeck since it has really diminishing returns.

I heard that attacking is a pretty good way to kill a walker, provided it isn't Jace AoT, and the creatures aren't 1/1s. Aetherling is a planeswalker killing machine.

I really only shake at my local FNMs. I've gotten sick too many times at large events, I usually start choking down a box of DayQuil the day before a Starcity event or a GP. I totally support the bro-fist though.

I think you mean turn 3...

I'd take out 3 Makkas and a firefist striker for the waifs. You also want Chandra's Phoenix's against control as well and also either Tibalt or Chandra Pyromaster, since both give you virtual card advantage and Tibalt is an uncounterable sudden impact.

  • posted a message on A video game controller question!
I find the ps3 Dualshock 3 to be my favourite controller I've ever used. The convex sticks have a nice grippy texture, the buttons are pressure sensitive, it has a sleek, professional design, and a working d-pad. The weight is excellent, not too light and a freaking brick like the xbox.

The left stick position on the Xbox is just completely uncomfortable for me, with the tops of them being concave drives me insane. I had an xbox briefly to play MW3 with some friends and even after playing for two weeks, I couldn't get used to the concave sticks and couldn't aim worth a damn. The standard controller also looks rather ugly in my opinion.

On the topic of controllers, who designed the medieval torture device that was the N64 controller? You legitimately need 3 hands to effectively use it.

Curse of Death's Hold is pretty good against Voice decks in my experience. Essence Scatter is real good on the play, too.
