The fourth angel sister was never killed, but instead sealed within the Helvault. She is now free and will ally with Sigarda.
When everything is over, Sigarda and her dark sister bring Bruna and Gisela back to their senses by making sweet love to them. The four angels then go back to protecting the humans like they did before Avacyn.
I don't think we 'need' actual dual lands. Battle Lands and Pain Lands will do just fine until next rotation. Don't get me wrong, I would find interesting new dual lands, but I would rather have another cycle of utility lands such as Gavony Township, Moorland Haunt, Stensia Bloodhall, Grim Backwoods and Desolate Lighthouse. We get dual lands constantly, but interesting utility lands are hard to come by.
There is actually a need for dual lands in Standard. With the rotation of fetchlands, allied pairs have one less cycle of duals than enemy pairs.
How about utility lands that tap for two colours but come into play tapped? That's actually something I've been wanting to see for a long time.
They aren't even Limited filler, because as uncommons, you won't see them frequently and when you do, there's a good change you aren't playing those colors.
So, exactly who did they make thee cards for? They're terrible in Limited due to rarity, and they're bad everywhere else due to there being better options.
The allied ETBT lands were good in OGW drafts. Uncommons pop up a lot in limited, especially when it's a cycle.
It just feels sad and odd to have the three angels feel such a disconnect with Avacyn. In the original Innistrad block, angels all over Innistrad were in despair over her absence, but not it feels as if she has been ruling them all along like some tyrant? Or that there could be animosity amongst their ranks, due to the defeat of their sister?
I don't know. The original happiness of AVR and all that is being shattered to tell another story. It just feels at odds with the general emotion I got from the original block.
The problem with AVR block was that there were like no stories (it was after when Savor the Flavor stopped, and before Uncharted Realms started) so we missed out on a lot of the finer details, including how the angels felt about all of this.
As for the ones despairing in Avacyn's absence, it was probably because they were younger angels that have known Avacyn all their life, and have been relying on her all that time. I doubt there are many angels older than Avacyn other than the Powerpuff Girls.
The one good thing about tyrant Avacyn is I feel less bad with her kicking the bucket. Maybe it will allow Sigarda to reconcile with her sisters and go back to protecting humanity together. I really hope there aren't more major angel deaths...
I really don't get why so many think this Sigarda looks evil. The biggest visual cue for the evil angels are their bloodstained wings, and Sigarda's wings are crispy clean.
*Checks this is the 'spoilers allowed' thread* Yup, good. Right. I don't hold out much hope for Sigarda staying clear of Avacyn's influence. Her flavour text on Expose Evil seems pretty puritanical too.
Interestingly, you can see the cryptoliths in the background of Expose Evil, so these people Sigarda is exposing are likely cultists and linked to Avacyn's madness.
That art people call Gisela does not look like her at all. She doesn't even have her iconic two swords (which Sigarda mentions Gisela having in the story). The armor also doesn't look anything like what Gisela used to wear.
With the focus more on the sword than the actual angel, I expect it to be for some Act of Treason card.
That was really good! Probably my favourite story since Khanfall, and definitely gets me excited for the rest of the block!
There's so much I liked about it, but my favourite has to be having angelic POVs.
Also, I have a feeling this "dark sister" of Sigarda that made an "alliance with a demon lord" could be the angel Marcyz, the one whose blood was used my Edgar and the demon Shilgengar to create vampires. I hope she is not actually dead and we see more of her, it seems odd to bring her up like that otherwise.
It seems like a lot of trouble for a creature with no built-in protection or evasion. I'm not a fan of the "dies to removal" argument, but in the case of a card that requires 4 spells before doing anything, it does apply. And no, transforming the thing in response to a removal spell will not cause the removal to fizzle. The floor with this card is just so low (a more expensive Steel Wall) and it leaves so much time for the opponent to disrupt it that it just doesn't feel worth it to me.
This is the same guy that spoiled things that turned out legit so ill believe this for now
But he was also wrong on the GB land in OGW (said it became a 3/3 for 2 mana and had regen).
OblivionedOne clearly has legit sources, but I wouldn't take everything he says as gospel, especially when the card seems busted (seriously, compare that to Jace Beleren who was a solid planeswalker, and this one just blows him out of the water)

Also, Warped Landscape pretty much confirms Nahiri is the one behind those liths.
