AE is town, and I'm not lurking, I'm genuinely absent. Scum is still hiding in the lurkers though.
DJ not newb town.
Wrath needs better reads. It's ironic how scummy self meta is... wait, it's not ironic at all.
Vote: WoD for acting exactly like he does when he's scum. Which is not doing much of anything.
I'm not feeling Archmage Eternal as scum. Still think DJC probably is (yes, I'm saying this again to see if he'll freak out some more for me. Oh does it lose its effectiveness when I point it out? Oh c'mon, he already snapped.).
I really could learn to love your reads if I tried.
More content when DYH stops prebarning all the ☺☺☺☺ I want to say.
Can I guess? One vote for "I checked out for several days, came back, and DJ was the first to bite on my empty accusations in the first post back."
I am all ears here, though. Looking forward to your answers to my questions still, since you've got the opposite read on two players that I have as scummy.
It would be the beautiful way you aren't sure whether Arachnoid is an innocent victim being jumped on, or scum whose backpeddling. Your post waffles all between a defense and an attack, with a vote at the end of it.
I don't know what the hell it is, but... not town.
I feel like I'm typically at my best when I'm vanilla town (or french vanilla). I try to play mostly the same regardless of whether I have a power role or not, but I think I tend to rely on my power and don't scum hunt quite as well. There's also less pressure when I'm vanilla (especially compared to being something like a vig), and again, I can just focus on scum hunting rather than worrying about breadcruming, whether I should claim, what I'm going to do at night, etc..
I've heard that from someone on another site, and I just don't see it. Vig is potentially really good if the player is significantly better than the other players in the game, but a cop is good no matter what (even if the cop is a relatively poor player).
I guess it depends on the setup, as in a game that's mostly vanilla, the vig wouldn't have to worry as much about accidentally killing a power role. And a lot of godfathers/millers makes a cop less useful. But still, confirming a player seems way better to me than killing a player (again, unless the vig is amazing).
Yeah, but the statistics were compiled from several hundred games. And the town power role that had the strongest influence on winning, by MORE THAN 15% (and about 10% more than cop) was Vig.
Reasons why:
1) Vig kills scummy players. Cop investigates them. This is a waste, as cop has to claim to prevent a mislynch, leading to bad dilemmas (do I claim to prevent the mislynch of a player who is a VI, or do I stay silent and waste a lynch?)
2) Cop has to claim to do good. Vig doesn't have to ever claim (one of my favorite games we pushed scum to the wall day 1 until he had to claim 1-shot vig because we were lynching him without a confirmable power. 1-shot vig counterclaimed N1).
3) Vigs don't have millers and godfathers. They just have bullets.
Also, after all the VT talk: whose game for a White Flag mountainous? I'll see if I can run one through the hosting queue if there's interest.
[quick summary: 10 VTs, 3 goons. Scum give up and 'raise the white flag' if two scum are lynched.]
Because I read everything in that post but his vote for some reason and I thought it was odd that he didn't address Archonoid.
@RP: Instead of your opinion of Archonoid, how about your opinion of DYH, so I can have all acronyms?
ZDS: Playing a game, and therefore townish. Will let it proceed to the natural conclusion, if I don't see what I expect to, expect to see a sharp 180 followed by a rain of terror across this land.
AE: Lurker. Lurking lurk is lurkable. So... look, lemme let you in on a little secret. There's always at least one scum amongst the lurkers. Amesteria you could have hit 'bout 4 of the 7 by lurker lynching. So... I'll let it pass page bloody five, then tell you.
DYH: Town.
I'll give someone a cookie if they explain why my vote moved:
I approve of this product and/or service! I can smell this.
DJ might be scum. Does town really sit around with their vote on no one at the bottom of page 2? Like... really? Definitely needs close watching, something is off.
Because he didn't do anything scummy. Being the scummiest at the time doesn't mean you should vote for them. It doesn't even mean they are really scummy. It just means they aren't as town as everyone else. This is why it is scummy. You voted him because he looked the scummiest, regardless of how scummy he actually was, which was not really scummy.
To use (corrupt?) one of my dad's favorite sayings, calling the scummiest person scum just because they are the scummiest is like calling the tallest pygmy in the tribe a giant. You were using bad logic to go after AE, and that is why you are scum.
Guardman better be scum, as I hope any town who wrote that would drown themselves. Regardless, my luck says that it's town. "You shouldn't vote for the scummiest person because they might not be scum" is the biggest piece of stupid reasoning since someone voted for a lurker over the CLAIMED BULLETPROOF when the last scum alive was a SK. However, scum usually catch that sort of logical gap when they reread before hitting submit. So... town. Unfortunately for us all.
Lost Profit/Emo probably isn't scum on scum. They seem too genuinely annoyed with each other for distancing. Feels like town on town TBH.
Balance theory says 12:4 with a very high power town (15:4 is for a normal powered town) or 13:3 with a very low power town. I'm hoping the later. Doesn't smell multiteam.
Ugh poggy trying to short circuit RVS could be scum, could be town. Feels a good bit like scum trying too hard. I lean scum. If someone vigs him, no tears here.
I love VT. I can, when I put my mind to it, draw a night kill like a magnet. It feels so good to get shot N1 as an obvious VT. Only thing better is vig (the strongest town power role btw - far stronger than cop, statistically).

zindabad's ISO is bad. Lots of content free walls. This post is classic IIoA, but this is fairly garbage as well.
I nominate him as our lurker scum #1.

I so don't like you right now.
Not enough that I'm about to unvote arachnoid, but it's working on slipping.
So anyway, Emo and LP. Town on town, or town on scum? If the latter, whose scum? If you say scum on scum, I beat you with a horsewhip.
Because that post was written over like 20 minutes.
Also 70% town isn't good. 12:4 is like 75% base before game starts. 13:3 higher.
