He is trolling all of you. I don't want to backseat mod, but my opinion is: delete this thread and perhaps provide another infraction. Woaplane accurately called his motivation here. Speak Your Mind does not translate well as "Whine."
Im of the opposite opinion. Personally i dont think things are strict enough here.
But then i don't make the rules and am using the site at my own perogative.. That i'd prefer a higher level of analysis and theory over alot of the (what i consider) usless posting is irrelevent, so i make do with whats available.
for reference www.elitistjerks.com would be ideal for me... if it was about mtg (its not).
The moderataion there is extremely strict.. and also partially enforced by the community but its taken alot of time and effort from the people that run it to get to that level.
Life's like that.. you end up making do with whats available rather than what would be "ideal".
(please note this is NOT a critic of the moderation policies here, just the expression of a personal opinion).
I frequent the jerks too, and I will say some areas of the board are not really moderated at all (they actually don't have to be, see Benefactors Bar). Also note that Elitist Jerks have a generally older poster-base on average, and an emphasis on hard data when theorycrafting. This forum shouldn't be quite as strict as EJ, and probably cannot be as strict as EJ, simply due to the massive number of grammar infractions mods would have to give out.
I am sure everyone remembers the core philosophy of the Azorious? A kind of highly logical and yet immensely massive bureaucracy? I decided my next 'Pure Casual Chaos' (any sets, any colour combo, etc) multi-player deck would be based around the propaganda mechanic, as much as possible.
I am missing about 5 or 6 cards in there, instants and sorceries are generally out, unless they are really cheap. I am also perfectly willing to replace In the Eye of Chaos, since they are on loan. So put on your creativity stifling hats, and type me out a TPS report.
I think I will end up playing a Well of Lost Dreams build over Land tax, I am pretty sure that a mono-white deck built around the well would be savagely annoying to fight in 5 man Chaos.
As for Black, well, there is always pestilence, its just that my build of that deck almost always gets me ganged up on:
I think Land Tax is going to be a hard one. White is obviously good at gaining life, cards like Congregate would combo well with Well of Lost Dreams. Maybe I should play a deck focused on Lifegain instead, that can be fun. but besides drawing cards, what exactly can white do with all that life?
Hey there. My casual play group of 5 is beginning a cycle of games in the style called "Color Wheel", where each player can only play a mono-colored deck (artifacts allowed obviously), and each deck must be a different color. You are also supposed to try to attack your "enemy" colors more than your allied ones. Each session, the color slotted to each player rotates, until 5 sessions have gone by.
What I'd like to do is build single color decks based on a single defining card, and try to get the deck to synergize around that card as much as possible. Here are the ones I am looking at so far:
Blue: By far my favorite color, with by far my favorite card: Veldaken Shackles (yah, yah, artifact, I know). Also, Rystic Study.
I'll be playing Blue first. This is my first list, just to set the tone here. I play with a skilled and fairly "high-powered" playgroup. Also, we tend to build our decks to reflect the color's "philosophies".
Seems fairly typical for Blue multiplayer. Make your opponents pay extra to harm you, try to be political with your shackles, and stay resilient with propagandas and Ivory Towers.
Blue is, obviously, easy.
However, cards like Land Tax have me stumped. I am also open to other mono-color ideas, just remember it is chaos 5 man multiplayer, and we try to obey "color pie" philosophies.
It plays like the old W/G Geniegeddon decks, except you smoke everything this time and just let persisted creatures stick for the slow beatdown win. Ideally you want two such creatures kicking around, and the odds are really decent of that occuring.
most of those persist cards easily count as your necessary white spell. you can suspend searches and hold a land or two to further recover if necessary, the deck also doesnt mind an extirpate.
Bog Strider Ash is pretty bad. Sure, 4 is a low spot in the curve, so either accel to 5 or drop a 2 / 3 drop and have a trick. I dont think Bog Strider warrants MD inclusion.
Against certain decks, bringing two lace out of the SB would be absolutely fantastic. We wont MD or SB the other two options at this point, so the SB choice is what I went for here.

I'd really like to find something "offensive" to do with all that life. Serra Avatar will just get Chump blocked.

Black: Bottomless Pit. And / OrMegrim, oh yes definitely. Obviously, breaking Pestilence is easy. Hello Sun Droplet?
Red: Form of the Dragon. So. Dangerous. in multiplayer. I love it.
