Just curious why its been moved when its meant to be a discussion on wishboard options, not this list in particular. I only posted my list so people know what I am already running.
Ridiculous that this will only ever by used for Magic Online. What a waste of amazing art.
With a decent printer and the right skills you could make it into a physical card. I'm sure somebody will do this. (I have neither the printer nor the skills myself.)
You mean altering an original Candelabra by changing the picture with this one? I'm afraid this would count as "making the card art unrecognizable" and therefore illegal (Artistic modifications are acceptable in sanctioned tournaments, provided that the modifications do not make the card art unrecognizable, contain substantial strategic advice, or contain offensive images.).
That oculd be an interesting question for the rulings forum. If it is altered to look like another official art for the same card, is the art still considered unrecognizable?
You can alter a card any way you want. Art is no longer a determining factor in a cards legality. Because you can show up at a tournament with a very old version of a standard card and most wont recognize it. The only thing that matter on a card is the name, mana cost, and P/T, this is proven with WotC textless promos being legal. Alters exist and people pay tonnes of money for them. So taking a candelabra and puttting this art on it will not make it illegal unless a judge says it is.
. BUT the ememy checks are practically guaranteed for MM17.
Wat.
MM sets have never had a rare land cycle and I would hope that they would not be stealing slots from higher valued cards if they were included. None of them cover the cost of a $10 pack.
Most of the rares are cheap junk. but since the next modern masters has so few sets to choose from and these were in innistrad, im guessing they will be there
When the full decklists become available, you may notice that we did some unusual things with the mana bases. We normally don't put rare dual lands in Commander preconstructed decks. We prefer to put those types of cards into products intended for a wider audience, such as our main booster releases or Masters products. We knew that four-color decks presented a special challenge for getting access to all of your colors of mana, so we spent some time identifying rare dual lands that we didn't think we'd want to put into booster packs in the near future. We put a few of those cards into the Commander 2016 decks to help the decks run smoothly.
They've admitted in the past rare duals help sell packs, so they're not going to kill their own golden goose with this set. I have a feeling they didn't do regular cycles, they just put in the lands for each deck they felt were best for tempo/ramp, etc. and didn't worry about finishing the cycles since it's a supplementary product.
If the enemy checklands have only had one printing to this point, then that's something would save for a regular booster product.
Also, there's almost 50 spaces for lands, we've still got room for more lands. I have to imagine a lot of one-shots will also be slotted in.
I just hope the Rare lands dont take away slots of other rare reprints. rarity is completely pointless anyways
Not sure about full cycles or just enemy checklands missing: apparently Clifftop Retreat won't fit between Caves of Koilos (285) and Command Tower (286).
im 100% certain that if they dont pu enemy checks i because and ONLY because they are i MM17 and they dont want to effect their actual money making product
Numbercrunch suggest that the landcycling cycle is only a 5 card cycle (3 each deck).
Also that we are not getting a single other ABCD 4 color multicolor cards, hope for commands and other extinguish... Part of me is very disappointed. It's not like the occasion is going to present itself again soon.
its frankly unsettleing how much wotc cares about the secondary market. you CAN put value cards in these. every commander deck except the first set was available for a while. and even if poeple do crack them for the few value cards, the rest usually end up on the market for those that dont want to by decks or need duplicates.
They couldve easily one enemy and ally pain, and check land, and one of the old filters in each deck. so all 25 lands get a reprint. BUT the ememy checks are practically guaranteed for MM17. The scry lands would be perfect as well.
Frankly, there is absolutely ZERO point in rarity in a prebuild deck. the EXACT same number of a new rare will exist of a new uncommon or common or mythic. So having "Rare" slots is pointless.
I have a feeling the lands are eating up rare slots when they shouldnt be. In all honesty some of the legends are poorly designed and a cycle of new cycling cards is a waste of new card space when tons of land cycling already exist.
1. Why use he/she him/her, instead of they/their
He or she reveals cards from his or her hand >>>> They reveal cards from their hand
2. Whats the current templating for lords????
Lifelink. Other creatures have lifelink
or >>>> Creatures have lifelink.
Both work just fine, yet the consistently switch back and forth.
3. This is my biggest pain with mtg cards...reminder text and useless text in keywords
I get it that its needed for less experienced players, but it isnt needed at rare. and they could put it on tip cards instead. Or I dont know, a plyer can google how a keyword works.
Landfall — Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, Steppe Lynx gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
>>>>> Landfall — Steppe Lynx gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
And if reminder text is needed at common
>>>>Landfall — Steppe Lynx gets +2/+2 until end of turn.(Landfall is triggered whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control.)
The same can be said for Rally, converge, and many other mechanics/keyword
4. Once something been given a keyword, you should be able to use it in a set even if its not a returning mechanic.
ex. Architect of the Untamed Its obviously landfall. though landfall isnt a returning mechanic, ITS STILL LANDFALL. So why not put it there, it wont be confusing since as number 3 mentions, the keyword still describes what the ability does. Landfall is the most used mechanic in other sets that i can think of. but metalcraft was used in Inventor's Fair
This would add more flavor to sets.
So all in all, the templating on most cards is atrocious in my opinion and can be simplified and cleaned up without losing anything at all. I welcome oothers thoughts on the matter
"At the beginning of each players upkeep if another player controls more creatures than that player, he or she may reveal cards from the top of his or her library until he or she reveals a creature card. If he or she does, that player puts that card onto the battlefield and all other cards revealed this way into his or her graveyard."
I think painlands and/or scry temples and/or checklands are reasonable. Scry temples would actually be a really good fit, simply because you can scry away lands whose color you don't need, thus actively helping you even more with color fixing. Additionally, their flavor is very specific and thus probably won't see Standard for a long time, so they could mean these lands....
Of course, as probably everyone else, I'm also hoping for fetches and shocks
They could easily put a single ally and emeny fetch, shock and filter in each deck. This will give them all chase cards. of course the blue decks will be hold more value...wait, 4 of them are blue, but nope I doubt wotc would do something that would actually help the community and devalue the secondary market.

Im expecting check lands(dragonskull summit) and mayber the scry temples
Filters would be amazing. Too strong for standard and dont fit the theme of the next modern masters
I actually voted for them. The point of this deck is to not be amazing.
Part 1 will be picking either BG or UR. Currenlty those are the two combination in which I ma not using my lands
Part 2 will be choosing a commander in those colors.
Part 3 will be people each suggesting a single card per post, until I reach 66 cards that I already own. Additional rules will be in part 3s thread.
So here goes the poll for the color. Pollng will end after one week.
Thanks for voting and lets build an awesomely hopefully not horrendous deck together.
