As soon as I read about Tiny Leaders format, I shifted my Jenara deck over to fit the new format. However, after seeing Shy Yun spoiled, I quickly decided to try him out. My original thought was to go completely creatureless, but I've since added a few creatures that interact well with spells and/or the commander itself. There are still a few things I want to try like Goblin Slide, Chasm Skulker and Goblin Offensive for more token generation, or slightly more voltron-like effects like Gods Willing and Artful Dogde. The nice thing about this decks seems to be that it can adapt to a lot of situations, as well as benefit from shifting the focus of the deck by tweaking the card selection. As far as the mana base goes, I haven't spent nearly enough time working on it, though to be honest, it has yet to give me any real problems. I don't like proxying cards (except when they haven't been released yet :P) so revised duals are likely not going to be added for a while. Thoughts are feedback always welcome!
Here's the version i'd like to build so far, not sure if i want to invest in the deck thought, waiting to see if people at the store take the format seriously.
I've played it several times against a pretty aggro Skullbriar deck (which is also a lot of fun!), and it's only lost one out of 7 or 8 games so far. I'll be playing again today at lunch, not sure against which deck, so I'll share my thoughts after that.
I found Mana Leak largely underwhelming. Kiln Fiend is one I would definitely consider adding to the deck if I decide to take any more spells out. Shinka is another I keep forgetting to add. I'll certainly be adding Soulfire Grandmaster and Monastery Mentor once I can get my hands on them. Hopefully you find other players. My buddy and I are the only two who have decks (thought I'll be playing with a third coworker today who is finishing his deck). Hopefully we can get a little more interest going. I think this format addresses the woes a number of more competitive players tend to voice (at least in my area).
