Born of the Gods seems exceptional for the number of interesting and eminently build around-able uncommon creatures as pauper generals. I just thought I'd create a thread soliciting folks' ideas for new strategies, synergies, and decks.
Personally, I've just finished a PDH cube, and am planning an expansion of my generals section to accommodate more guild and shard options. Many of the new cards seem very appealing to me to try out. Here are some I'm particularly interested in:
Akroan Conscriptor - I'm not certain yet if my cube will include mono colored generals, but this guy seems like a really interesting inclusion, especially if your deck includes reliable ways to keep triggering his heroic ability ~ seething anger, crown of flames, and the like.
Akroan Phalanx - A nice addition to PDH's boros generals. Global pumps are a bit harder to find in the common rarity, and having it on a stick with AP is pretty nifty. Definitely going to test!
Archetype of Courage - This is the member of the archetype cycle that I'm most likely to use. Setting your entire force to first strike, while denying this to your opponents is very powerful. This is one of the better mono-white PDH generals that we've seen in a while.
Graverobber Spider - I believe this is one of the stronger golgari options available to PDH, and may allow for porting something like the 'dead dog' archetype to our format. A pauper deck capable of filling its graveyard may be able to get good use out of it, especially one using dredgers and the recently pauper-ized moldervine cloak.
Kiora's Follower - One of the marquis uncommons from the set, I can definitely see the follower as a key piece for running dudle engines in PDH. I don't believe I will use him myself, but it's still a good build around me card.
Odunos River Trawler - by the end of the block and depending on our common enchant creature options, this guy may turn out to be a nice addition to orzhov's roster. The effect is pretty narrow, but the utility and card efficiency of many enchantment creatures is already impressive in the PDH context.
Siren of the Silent Song - as long as the entire table doesn't turn against you, I think this is an absolutely awesome addition to dimir. I will definitely be trying this one out in my generals section.
Stormcaller of Keranos - This card is quite a bit different than the recent crop of supervoltrons we've seen in izzet. I'm interested in giving this one a test; checking to see if it facilitates good, efficient draws and mitigates bad top decks.
Not sure if I would agree with that. Graverobber seems a lot more explosive to me, once you get a lot of junk in your graveyard and some form of evasion then he's gonna be able to plow through a lot of damage in a few swings, whereas Rot Farm is slower but harder to deal with.
Aside from that, I'm pretty interested in Archetype of Courage. None of the other general options for monowhite Pauper really stuck out to me despite White Weenie being one of my favorite archetypes, but this guy really reinvigorated my interest in trying to make it work. I'd like him more if he wasn't an enchantment, but I can't complain too much.

"Personally I love high-riak, low-reqars gambles. Life's best with a decent amount of riak. And f*** reqars."
